Or whether it's actually assigned to Simon while he's on TS's payroll and he's allowed to personalise it to a certain degree but given the type of person I think Simon Jordan to be I can't really imagine that he would be that interested in personalizing his room.

  • Up to and including his 2nd season at Real Madrid, he was on track to become the greatest manager of all-time. His work at Leiria, Porto, Chelsea, Inter and during those first 2 seasons at Real Madrid was incredible. We would never know what would have happened if the building project would have continued. It was a work of art. The team did underachieve compared to his 1st team but then again the third season transfer window was a joke.

And at Utd, he paid the price for overly negative tactics away to Sevilla (settling for a 0-0 draw away), which triggered a decline there. But note I didn’t say he declined to become a chump, I said he declined from being on track to potentially become the best ever bar none, to merely world class (and still assured to end up as one of the best ever).

He knows how to neutralise and strangle great teams and motivate players who are loyal to him. In short, he knows how to navigate tournaments and win trophies. His footy isn't always pretty, but I'm not sure England fans ( having not won anything since 66 ) care the man were to bore them to winning the WC.

  • Jose is an undoubted character with admirers and critics in equal measure. My objection to him at Liverpool is that he is a manager for 'in their prime' players. He isn't a man who specialises in bringing through young talent as he only hangs around for three years maximum. As the reds don't have the funds of City, they need to bring through players before they reach their peak sell price, and that isn't Jose's game.

They were all on the precipice though, and a lot of players for Liverpool are in the same boat. But I take your point that we have a lot of academy talent to nurture through too, the kids that won the league cup

Because Pep is literally doing the same thing he was doing at Barca which he also did at Bayern. Klopp is doing exactly what he was doing at Dortmund. All the upcoming coaches, especially the upcoming ones in the EPL specifically that are praised are copy and pasting what the Mourinhos and Peps and Ancelottis have done. We have watched fullbacks like Ashley Cole, Roberto Carlos, Thuram, Zanetti, Cafu, Maldini, Lahm, Marcelo, Gary Neville, Evra, Dani Alves etc etc but people will tell me guys like Robertson and Trent and Shaw and Cancelo etc are the modern fullbacks, and yet all of the can't defend, they aren't consistent, they can't stay fit so what makes them great then? or better than those legends because these boys aren't lacing even Gary Neville's boots for starters and he was the least fanciest fullback but he is Mr Reliable. • I think Simon is right, there are two very different versions of JOSE MOURINHO. And, Jose has as good as admitted as much himself. As soon as he came away from Chelsea for the first time he admitted that he was a completely different character to the person who people saw while he was a manager and said that it was a bit of a charade. You saw how he was on the subject of Liverpool during his analysis of the Liverpool 4 Barcelona 0 match - and he couldn't have been more enthusiastic and complimentary about the Anfield club or their manager. But of course he was nothing like that when managing Chelsea, Manchester United or Tottenham.

    • Jose for England could happen. Imagine ‘Sir’ Gareth if England win despite him. Stay on to go for WC glory? Ask Sourness to speak to Danny Boy to see if he would like Southgate as Pool manager? There is a vacancy, but somehow the MSM not pushing that clickbait story. No mention of how he’d be good at Chels with all that young talent that needs galvanising. No let’s inflict him on United. I’d rather have the tea lady/man than have Southgate. He is Championship level at a push, but he does dress smartly and does doff his cap to the blazers.

  • Jose at Roma brought quality players to Roma on the cheap. He will find those professional footballers willing to come and play a role at a great club like Liverpool. There are many talented players in Leagues around Europe still to be tapped. All fans want, is to win trophies and Jose will adapt the tactics to suit the squad available. At Spurs, Kane/Son combo broke record for goal/assist contributions in a season under Jose. Liverpool owners, would not go wrong hiring Jose on a short term 1/2 year contract readying the squad until Xabi Alonso is willing to come??? Like Mou preparing Real Madrid for Zidane success! Next year requires a winning manager to stabilize the club near the top - no risks.

  • I used to almost hate Simon Jordan, but I've really started to like him, and agree with him between 50-75% of the time, depending on the topic. However, I love these 2 together, they're a very equal match for each other, and it always makes for an entertaining show. It's verbal sparring, and neither of them likes to give the other an inch, but it used to be very heated and almost hateful, because they despised each other. Now it's absolutely brilliant, and far better, and all because they became friends, over the noblest of causes. Souness met a little girl called Debra, who has a horrible, horrific condition, where her skin peels off constantly, all over her body, leaving her with tremendous pain because her body is always red raw all the time. So Souness decided to raise money for the condition called Epidermolysis bullosa, by swimming the full 21 miles of the English Channel at 70 years old 👏👏. He invited Simon Jordan up for a charity event, and to Simon Jordans credit, he went to the event and donated money. Souness raised over £1m, and Simon Jordan was impressed at Souness completing the 21 miles and swimming for 12hrs 17mins. That charity event has made the dynamic between the two of them far better, because they are friends now. It's still verbal sparring, but far more like banter, instead of distain.
