  • Being stuck in the mirror is SO accurate. I'd do my makeup for hrs and look at myself for hrs. It was crazy. I thought I was the most beautiful thing too! In all reality, I was hit!

    • Literally SAME! I was obsessed with myself 😂 but would also criticize the hell outta myself if I wasn't "perfect!" Funny what we cared about as our minds were literally frying 🤯 And I was damn cute!(to me)🤪 Lol now I have 2 crazy kids & no time to even check the mirror some days🤷‍♀️

    • Congrats on ur Mamas recovery! Also thank you and congrats to you too for being a great supportive child! She definitely raised you right ☺️💕 I hope the cruise was fun and fulfilling and everything she wanted it to be as her first trip sober and in recovery! She’s a strong mama and women for sure, believe me, it’s not easy but it’s well worth it! Even if it’s just to be able to make you, her supportive, loving child, proud of her and to see the proud, happy, content, safe, and worry-less look on ur face🥹☺️ I’m sure if you ask her she will say that you are her everything and what she thought about day and night, through the super hard nights and sunshine filled happy days!💕☺️ I know we don’t know each other but I’m proud of you two! Keep up the amazing work lovelies XOXO💋✨💕👑😇

Or being forced to go on vacation and thinking oh I have enough to get through then it’s gone day one do all have and you’re sick rest of vacation or left just enough to not be in full wd. I do not miss those days. But i didn’t even think about that. I would do a day trip at best. And still be itching to get home. But valid af point.

That’s really inspiring and impressive and seeing or reading this will really give anyone hope to start or continue their own recovery journey (no matter what their fix may have been)😇🥹 Also, I totally get why you prefaced that ur gambling addiction isn’t quite the same as a drug or alcohol addiction but I want you to know addiction of any kind is well: addiction. And all addiction and recovery journeys, no matter how big or small, is just as valid and is something that takes incredible courage and strength and endurance to keep moving onwards and upwards. :) I just wanted to let you know my friend that what you went through in ur addiction and recovery is just as valid and awesomely hopeful as any other ☺️ very proud of you too! Keep it up! Cheers to many more years and happiness to you!!!💕

  • I’ll never forget my first vacation in recovery. My family had a Hawaii trip planned for a couple of years. I turned a mere 90 days clean & sober on that vacation. I was so nervous to go, but it ended up being such an amazing trip. Being in such a beautiful place really made me realize how amazing life was about to be. I remember waking up early, walking over to the beach everyday, and reading my big book. I got an overwhelming sense of knowing that I was going to be okay. That vacation ended up being a huge breakthrough for me. ♥️

  • What helps me is picking a few bouquets of 💐/herbs/branches and setting them up on dressers and walls and putting a bright quilt/blanket on the bed and a little framed picture of family or something. I do something similar with my tent when i go camping since I used to live in a tent too!❤ I keep quilt and blanket, an indoor/outdoor carpet and the other stuff in a small bag in my car. It started as a way to keep triggers to a minimum and now it just helps make travel and camping more homey❤

But for some reason, Security only wants to pick on me and kick me out when I have actual money in my pocket that I’m ready to spend and I have absolutely, without a doubt, zero intentions on stealing anything. Like either I look busted af when I got money or I look like an “A List” movie celeb when I’m high. Which I know my makeup is like a 3 on a scale 1-10 10 being Jeffery Star n 5 being every 3 yo with their new Barbie makeup set. smh now that I’m typing this, I should really look into professional movie makeup jobs.
