It was at the 2007 Grand Rapids MI Autorama. I had went out back to the loading dock as I was showing my car there that year and saw the semi. It should have been in the show as well. It was SO amazing the detail and time it took to do something that large.

    • And people who want an excellent reputation with their customers along with whoever they do business with for being honest and trustworthy for many years to come will tell the truth. Honesty is the best policy for long term business and customers. Most people will stick with and trust an honest mechanic that gives you the whole truth over the guy that tries to sell everything under the kitchen sink that you don't need and does half ass work. That's a way to make a quick buck and screw customers over, but not how you get known as the best and get lasting constant business in the long run.

  • I'm fairly certain that the van's Road wheels, Idler, Final Drive, and tracks are from an M113 Armoured Personnel Carrier, or even like the M548 Tracked Load Carrier (TLC or Tilly) you have/ had. The gap between the second and third Road wheels, and the length of the track points towards TLC. The track is the old single track pin type. The new track has 2 fixed pins and are held together with collars, similar to tanks. The hull at the front looks familiar due to the cylindrical extrusions. The M113 started with a petrol (cough...Gas) V8. Australia put a V6 diesel Cummings into theirs. Australia has heavily modified them now.

Bought new pump and didnt learn about his mistake, second pump gone. Got fed up and sold it to next guy, who bought new pump.... and you guessed it...never got to replace pump and clean the tank. Bought it from that guy pretty cheap and in process finding inline large enough pump for cheap to run it trough boat tank so its runner, going to clean the fuel system before dropping the rear axle to remove that tank and check the guys work well as most likely coat it before reinstall to get her as proper runner. Still long way to utility restore but she aint half bad for 2.2L quatro for 500€ needing mostly cosmetics, few rust holes, headliner, windscreen and new set of rubber, fluids and belts before going back on the road. • heavy d pro tip when you do revivals use brake clean instead of starter fluid its better on your engine and it'll clean out the carbs

  • Yeah it was flooded cause sparks kept stomping the throttle pedal causing the accelerator pump to keep squirting more and more fuel into the engine 😂

    • You mean the hard piece of rubber where the accelerator pump is supposed to be. That thing ain't pumping anything.

  • When I was being taught to drive, back in 1965, my dad, (who was a machinist by both vocation and avocation, and worked on his own car(s)), advised against pumping the accelerator repeatedly as it was likely to flood the carburetor....

  • The airbrush semi is amazing. The four-door Chevy inside is completely airbrushed from front bumper to back bumper roof inside cab inside bed and underneath. The whole body tilts up on hydraulics completely exposing the motor and chrome tube chassis. It also has hydraulics in the suspension to raise and lower the truck. The nose of it is airbrushed like flames and an eagle that has a Cadillac Escalade front end on it. I seen it at one of the last autoramas in Grand rapids, Michigan

  • Holy shit not a single mechanic in the bunch, it's been sitting 20 years carb needs rebuilt or replaced, rig up gravity fed fuel system and turn the distributor. It's smoking out the carb, something stuck in the valvetrain. Just keep cranking and pumping while shooting starting fluid at it. Bunch of stooges.
