Hi, Larry you are really Gem of ADL.. God Bless you all the time.
Thanks
Wow Larry! 794 needed a lot of work! I'm sure you saved the boss a whole lot of money!
Every truck needs attention at some point
Have a good day larry.
You too
👍The Cone - GREAT IDEA!!! - I can't tell you how many times I've had trouble over tightening wheel bearings. Used to just keep spinning the hub until it "free spined" then checked side to side & in + out slap & hoped for the best.
Yep same here
Nice work...
Thanks
They make a bearing ,racers, sealer puller an installer kit for that type of work had to order one yesterday replacing my timing chain gasket, saw one for a Peterbuilt.
Yep there is always special tools
Good morning long hual Larry
👋
I use a Hydraulic press never a problem. Plus with a pre-set bearing system you just need to torque the nut to the correct setting to get the correct clearance. You learn something new every day.
👍
The Service manual for pre-set bearings on freightliner calls for 250 ft-lbs of torque and that's it. Thanks for sharing the video.
Sir Larry !! Saw some things that are questionable ,,but GOOD Job & Thanks !!! ""KEEP IT SAFE ""!!
Everything is questionable 😁
@@LongHaulLarry YEPPER !!! Can't go for the ""NEW"" tech crap !!! ""OLD way always worked fine where I learnt at in the ""OL"" Mom/Pop Shop years ago !!!!
GM LHL, as far as bearing races go, we freeze em, so they pop in lit' bit easier, stay well...peace
Done that myself 👍
Instablaster...
Im a Journey man trailer mechanic run a weld bead on the inside of the races put the new races in a freezer so they shrink a bit the cold races will pound in way easier and the welded races will pound out a lot easier as well.
I thought with the cone you didn’t have to back out but…just straight ft pounds of torque. 200!
Our favorite grease monkey is racking up the videos recently! 👍🏼
😁
Ah did you hurt your little thumb get the boss to kiss 😘 it lol 😂 ✌️
get boss's wife or the inspector to kiss boo boo
Great work sir 💐💐💐✌🏻 Gud one ,,, same here I m diesel mechanic from India Punjab
Hello to India
LongHaul Larry hello sir , how’s you
❤️
You are the man
Thanks
Hey Larry have a great day. 905am Monday October 5
You too
@@LongHaulLarry I got a lot done today.. laundry and mowing the lawn
One easy way to find a parasitic draw is with a temperature sensor pistol. Use it on the fuse box, warmest fuse is usually the culprit. Then trace out that circuit to the problem.
Good ide
Air hammers work great for races also avoids smashing fingers lol
😂👍
Real nice👍👍👍
Thanks
Unsafe hitting two cups together , the hard surfaces will splinter and chip ! Always wear safety glasses . Heat aluminum hub surfaces up to drive cups out and in place .
You are right, sometimes I get ahead of myself Ànd safely gets forgotten 🫣
Water oil mixes together makes it soupy. Oil for rainbow color oil water. Grit in my oil from shavings engine repair or clear color.
👍
Check the alternator for draw. Had the same problem turned out to be the alternator.
I did
Morning Larry as a fellow gear head neat video sure seems like the boss should invest in a press lots of uses for it and when he orders the press he can order that T-680 headlight trim😁 1.3 draw doesn't the the Obama electronic log draw when off? also the computer should have a hot at all times pin.🤔
Eld is off when I tested
@@LongHaulLarry Ok but does it still have a pin that is "Hot at all times"?like the computer.
Nice video , Where can I find this socket? What size is it? Thanks
The person who is reading this comment i wish you great success health love and happiness i am from morocco have a good life for everyone here God bless United States of America ^^💟🕇
Hello! Wishing you Health, Love & Happiness in Morocco. Thanks for Kind Wishes to USA. 🇺🇸👍
I like your videos I was just wondering do you ever get tired of doing all that hard work for lazy drivers why are they there helping you I did anyway extremely informative and entertaining
I’m trying to inform the drivers to do things to help them and less maintenance also
I want to get that fee tool and whack you with it lol 😂 ✌️
Just wait when you need work done on Big Maroon😎
The wheel hub looked lightweight. Is it aluminum or white metal.Years ago that was heavy.
Aluminum
🙌🙌🙌
GR8T FixEmUp ...and Teaching Vid....you'll find the draw don't worry ....
Thanks
Can’t really blame your boss for getting excited about getting some tools free once in awhile. He sure seems like he is always buying some tools for the shop/tractors and trailers plus all his other expenses.
Yep 👍
Curious to how much and what kind of oil in Bearing hub..
These are 80-90, not much
Hi Larry, can you give us the names of the tools you used and where to get them?
If there is a special tool I usually do but I know I miss it sometimes. Get a bit busy sometimes
The boss is lucky he has you. Hope you can open your own shop. What does ADL stand for
Not sure
@Dale Smith All Day Long That is what ADL stand for
Hey Larry, sorry you adjusted that wheel bearing incorrectly. With the preset bearing that sleeve sets the proper clearance. Should just torque the nut to 250 and place the lock ring in. That sleeve crushes to set proper clearance. Good luck.
Every type off wheel bearing is torqued differently on manufacture specs, I went off the company’s torque specs so all good
hydraulic press is good to have
Yep would have worked too
If that’s a ConMet system you are well under the minimum torque that they spec.
Nope
LongHaul Larry nope as it’s not a ConMet or the torque is too light? I do ConMets daily, they are at 300ft lbs as per their instructions
@@ko9446 and no backing either right?
Emilio Clas according to their instructions, no.
@@ko9446 yeah that's what I thought. Thanks
You need some light looks rather dark
Need night vision
Hey
👋
Why wouldn’t u apply Greece like A car and pack it.
Because it's a country.
it's a oil bath...lubed by gear oil instead of grease : )
Oil hub
Maybe the black pony should be your's and give Big Blue a little rest. I'm sure Johnny Chicken wouldn't mind, especially if you put those train horns on it.
Oh boy, trying to get rid of big blue? Don’t say that out loud
It’s wrong, if’s a preset hub, its having a cone inside between the bearings, wtf 😡it’s 300 psi torque, no backing off, it’s a preset hub, it’s not old style man … Unbelievable, the shaking is from the lose bearings 🤯🤯🤯🫢🫢🫢
