Simple how to replace a 2009 or newer hood strut. Simple and way cheaper than taking it to a mechanic.

Flawless video thank you got it done in 10 seconds
Cheers, thanks for the video
Thank you for this video!
Thanks for the video. I replaced the part and was surprised that my hood wouldn't close at all. The spring was stuck open (mine was from Kilen Springs). I tried to press the spring against the floor and it wouldn't move. Then I kept rotating the upper side and had a few whacks with a rubber malllet (totally not safe probably) and it started moving.
Very clear instruction, great job. 5 starts to you.
Worked perfectly....from a cali girl🎉
Thanks!
Clear instructions. Thanks for sharing👍
Great instructions 👍 Thanks so much
Thank you for this video. Mine just recently went out.
You sure you haven't done this before? I think you are Mechanically inclined and don't realize it. But very good video. Thank you
I totally agree. I’ve put in 5k myself but can’t seem to find a replacement for the way it drives
Mine won’t close I need help bad, been doing this for 30 mins now it won’t close
Just curious if yours has a oil consumption issue? Bought a ‘10 Quattro wagon and spent some money 10k ago including the oil issue. According to Audi 1qt per 2k miles was acceptable but after 10k it’s back down to 600 miles. Just replaced the hood strut today. Thanks
I recently serviced my a8 at Valvoline. Tech stated oil was leaking evident by oil soaked panel underneath engine. Possible gasket malfunction. “High mileage” oil was put in attempt to mitigate the effect (this oil type contains additives to avoid leaking gaskets. Battery in the vehicle was from 2015 and replaced during oil change! Scheduled at local Audi dealership for code checks.
The guy that bought this brand new had the oil consumption covered under warranty. I think it was a ring issue. It has always consumed some oil about a quart every 3k miles. Ended up selling to my mechanic. He said the only person that can afford an Audi, is a mechanic! Lol
It's common with European cars to burn oil, mine needs a quart every 3ish months, especially with the way I drive it😭
Cook video . Th oil from the struts is super bad if it gets on your engine bay
All I did was pull the old one off and pop the new one into place...didn't remove any clips
What services were rendered for y’all to spend $7-8k on this car?
Ya…I bought it 4 years ago and it was an amazing car up until 8 months ago. When it reached about 110k it started to fall apart. The last straw head gasket. I got rid of it 3 weeks ago. Will never buy another Audi. Lol
@@Anthony-ox4pt need to buy a 2013+ s4/s5 👌🏼
The newer ones are all plastic and are a pain to open
