  • @jetjef007 Hi there. If its a "C140", or the 2 door coupe model of the W140, there are no aftermarket headlights available at all. Youre stuck with the stock headliights im sorry. The W140 cool "accessories and upgrades" market has all but dried up now - I have trouble finding things to browse. Japan being a "New Car Market", theres plenty for W220 and W221 of course, but the W140 is getting kinda old, and Japanese dont drive old cars as a general rule, and a handful of enthusiasts isnt enough.

  • Just my friend and I. We took the photos on two identical Canon HG21 HD cameras and I put the video together. The music is written by myself.

  • Japan probably has the MOST aftermarket parts in the world, as customisation is so popular, its almost cultural here. However the day of the W140 has gone. W220s came in 1999 onwards, and then W221s after that, so the W140 is 3 generations old. Japanese tend to buy and customise new cars. Used car market is almost non-existent, meaning that the wealth of W140 bodykits, exhausts, lights, wood etc has all dried up now. A few things here and there, but compared to 5 years ago, its all over.

    • Do you know what doesn't go out of style?...The M120...DOHC and 4 valves per cyl...unless you're engineering on behalf of beancounters. Plus, the big body look is iconic. Saying the W140's "all over" is like saying Bruce Lee is. On the other hand, you're correct...I suppose. I really wouldn't know about the aftermarket in Japan, so I'll defer. And if what you say is true...AND...if what I say is true, nowadays, someone can just draw it up on a napkin, take it to a buddy who knows CAD (or similar), and have the goddamned part machined from a CNC or 3-D printed. It depends on what you're after. Are you modifying one of the world's greatest cars ever? (1996+ S600) Or are you modifying the latest thing on the market, because you can, and parts are readily available?
