He pulled out jokes in such a way that everyone thought he was serious. once he was at a party and a person was eating a pastry wirh the mouth open and he approached the person, pointed at the pastry and said: "it looks good. what flavour is it?"seriously! i wish hewas alive longer because he was so funny
Well ... I was thinking why he said he's good at driving doing part-time delivery job while he's under Big Hit trainee and also attending high school/cyber college. We all knew that he went into accident at interaction while driving scooter/motor cycle and that fu*cked him up. His shoulder was shattered (some sources said it's not broken. He dislocated it and that tore his labrum and rotator cuff) and he at first couldn't tell the truth about it because he's worried about dropping off from the debut lineup and he's also working parttime outside between training (Big Hit) and school. The car tyre was only two inches away when he opened his eyes and he was left there by himself. It's like hit-and-run while he's doing delivery job to cover his school fees. But, when Big Hit found out about this, they covered their tuition expenses and they didn't remove him from the line up. Though he has a long-term problem with his shoulder and injected pain killers while touring and finally was able to do surgery in 2020, 7 or 8 years later. Now, he can turn full range of his hands. He did go to habitation. But, here we are, he's joking that he's good at driving. It's one of his past traumas which he's trying to overcome.
Suga is not so much shy as he is mature, laid back and introspective. It's not shyness or lack of interest, it's just how he is

A Chinese Rapper?
For those who don't know, he's really neutral about being a food delivery guy not because he's embarrassed, but because he had an accident while doing deliveries and hurt his shoulder really bad, but couldn't afford to go to the doctor then, because he was broke. He suffered with it for almost 9 years and said that sometimes after performing he wouldn't be able to lift his hand. The happy ending is that he finally underwent a risky surgery during covid, got a lot of physiotherapy and is all better now 💜
he obviously went to the doctor after the accident, he didn't have a surgery all these years because he was too busy and it was still possible to put it off

Although we ALL KNOW Yoongi is fluent in English, I respect that he respects his language and culture enough to continue to speak Korean in influential spaces. I think it’s a conscientious choice on his part. I think he doesn’t want to lose himself to the western world and find himself only speaking English in these types of situations. (Like the live he did where someone asked him to speak English and he said “no, I will speak Korean”). I am speaking from person opinion but I think it stems from him not wanting to lose that he is a Korean man, born and raised in Korea, and doesn’t want to feel pressured to have to appeal to a western audience if it means he loses who he is and where he comes from. All the other BTS members make an effort to learn and speak English in these types of spaces/situations; and all-while i respect that and think it’s a great life/language/social skill, I immensely respect that yoongi doesn’t conform to anything. He remains completely authentic in all situations. There is something to be said about that. He is very dry most of the time, and those who haven’t followed him or his journey probably wouldn’t fully understand him or who he is watching him, but those who are seasoned fans would totally understand and respect why he is the way he is and why he is who he is. He is completely refreshing to a western audience and I will continue to have nothing but respect for him.

jimmy did the same with Bong Joon Ho when he was on the show, his interpreter was sitting next to him. Its refreshing seeing interviews let people speak their native language.

Exactly, one of the reasons I admire him. He's always his calm self and doesn't do over the top reactions. He isn't an openly affectionate person, but he doesn't fake it to fit in, and he only talks when he has something to say. I'm sure a lot of introverts and less expressive people can relate, growing up there was always a pressure to act more talkative and bubbly to fit it. Seeing him just always being himself helps a lot.

I love the way Suga is proud of talking in Korean, and also the fact that he CAN speak in English if he wants.
He probably doesn’t realize how much of an inspiration he is to so many people throughout the world. Anybody that has struggled with or know someone who has depression, OCD and social phobias know that life can sometimes be rough. Yoongi brings hope and comfort to those who are struggling.

i really do want people to drop the "savage and dark" description. he may have been perceived that way in some specific cases in the past, but that is far from who he is, especially in recent years. even back then, it wasn't out of "savagery". i hope we can all do better when it comes to commenting on people's personalities and not limit them to a one-dimensional (and often false) image.

I don't think he was nervous, he usually doesn't make much eye contact. He less nervous than Jimin: to be polite Jimin didn't cross his legs, Suga did; Suga didn't turn his when drinking with an older person. He actually made some sassy jokes.
Thats just his personality, like he said he isnt uncomfortable around cameras so hes fine especially since hes been there before
theres a reason yoongi and jimin chose to come back and do an appearance for a show like jimmy out of all the late night shows, they just seem more comfortable and like they genuinely liked being there. this is great thanks for treating them well!

@@farawaykin I am guessing they had an ear piece, some Korean shows do this with foreign guests. i wasn't there but in this uploaded edit it feels seamless. Also, they always rehearse these shows once previously and should check with the artist's management about the questions.The once he asked infer that since they are not condescending nor repetitive ones. 😊

Me too... like I would unconsciously turn away and then force myself turn back and look at the speaker's eye because I know its impolite. But then when I'm drifting off again I'll loose the eye contact again. It's really painful to be aware of this every second you talk to someone. Also like putting hair down, to cover the eye-contact. My mom used to be so annoyed about me putting my hair down and covering my face.

@@msm3668 they've had long hair before that didn't act like curtains over their eyes, im not just talking in terms of aesthetics I'm speaking in terms of marketing/business. I don't know if Suga preferred it out of shyness, performing alone, but those long bangs are truly "bad business". Eg, how many covers of Vogue do you think would sell if the model's eyes are not visible because of long bangs hanging down? Those bangs are dulling their superstar impact for those new to BTS!
I just watched the 7 second interview video BTS shot during life goes on last night and for the most of it, while the other members struggled to answer within the time limit, Suga would finish his answers and still have time left. Got the same vibes from this one.

Suga is a really envious person who was supposed to release his album a month after Jimin's album was released, but he changed that and dropped his album at the time of Jimin's promotions to take the spotlight from him, even his fans admitting that in one word he forced the company On changing the time of the album's descent

Also, the fact that he showed a clip from SUGA’s documentary and specifically showed the part where SUGA is producing, in front of keyboards, computers, and editing. Then having Steve Aoki say “SUGA is a musical genius” Jimmy did that on purpose. The amazing thing about Jimmy with the BTS (any of the members) is that there's effort from both sides. Whether it's letting them speak Korean, himself speaking a bit slower for better understanding, or just choosing activities that require less talking... it's a great way to acknowledge the language barrier without making anyone feel uncomfortable or less confident. What a good host!

When I first got into BTS in 2015, Yoongi's reserved and calm personality is what drew me in the most amongst other things, I know some lame people might react negatively to how he is but I freaking love it.
Same here, but it's hard cuz so many people misunderstand him and think he îs rude, we just have to show our support to him that's what matters
