He didn't like the idea of Metallica being put behind a side project, and didn't want to lose Jason to something else like Echobrain or anything. It's all on the SKOM documentary.

      @joshuahunter2511@joshuahunter25118 жыл бұрын
    • ***** That's how Jason saw it, but it doesn't make it true. People do things for reasons that others won't understand. It was about control, but it was also about not wanting to lose something. Perceive that.

  • IMO, Marty Friedman is the most artistic guitar player in the world. Well balanced in the classic rock, metal, out-of-the-box unique style that he has. Never tries to impress with stupidly fast solos, if he need to play fast, he always goes for the sound that he needs or hears in his head. I can't say the same of any other guitar player that i've heard. A true MUSICIAN.

    • Be aware that Marty is heavily influenced by Michael Schenker (UFO band) as is Dave Mustaine too. Melodies, "exotic" scales, the very tone of the guitar, vibrato, it's all there... Schenker was already shredding the world apart in 1974 long before legends like VH and Malmsteen were consolidated

      @FeelingShred@FeelingShred3 жыл бұрын
  • It was produced by Kitaro, one of the most prominent new age recording artists/composers - this was a superb collaboration. Friedman is simply awesome - met him once at a Megadeth record signing for Countdown to Extinction (yes that was many moons ago) - super humble, down-to-earth guy!

It's beautiful, it's vibrant, yet it's moody and dark and emotional all at the same time. It's mystical and it's definitely part Japanese sounding. Haha. Arigato!

My girlfriend at the time, she enjoyed it and thought it was romantic. After a while, it started growing on me. Finally, I realized I was listening to pure emotional ectasy, and the work of a genius musician/composer. It truly grows more emotionally powerful with every listen, sublime.

  • There it is, the best album by marty friedman, the masterpiece in his career as a solo artist, on this one he turned music to art, this album is in my list of the 10 best instrumental rock/metal albums in history, as someone said in the comments, it's a soul healing music, thanks for sharing.
