I made one of those from your first video. Found the head, decided I needed a little pack hatchet. Love it. Works great.
Love your videos. Please keep them coming. 17:08
I made my own version of your bushcraft axe from a shingle hammer . Cutting the hammer off completely changes the feel of the axe it was awkward to swing with it and now it’s very felt and lightweight
🇺🇸 Great Bushcraft ax also like the sling and cover you made for the ax great craftsmanship. Somebody doesn't like it they can make their own. 👍🏼🤙🏼✌🏼 🇺🇸
Thanks mate love your show.
Each to their own. Im sure I have done some works that many people wouldnt like. But as you say, you bought the items so can do with it as you will. I for one enjoy your channel and gain good inspiration from the work you do. Keep it up mate. Speaking of which I am going tp make a bucket forge similar to one you used to have. Any tips on the mixture you used to create the inner?
Thanks for the kind words. For the bucket forge, I used a 1-1 mixture of Plaster of Paris and sand.
I might use this question on a future “5 questions” video. It comes up often. 👍🏼
Nice video. Very informative.
In pharmacy school, we were told that REAL neatsfoot oil is made from sheep's feet.
I liked it. I personally prefer a small carving hatchet with my sven saw, 5 to 6 inch scandi or convex grind knife and a good pocket knife. Just depends on what you are out doing.
Agreed. Thanks
Enjoyed the vids. I have an old axe head my son and I are carefully revitalizing. I’m having difficulty finding information on it, but it was from a private land site in the mountains where last logging would have likely been for railroad ties. Can you direct us to any places for researching a 4lb head with a trademark B.J. from J.E. Pilcher St. Louis, USA? Model looks like a Blackjack 4?

@@geraldtakala1721 ha! That’s awesome. I have this sense of humor too. We’ll played. Also FO… ;-)
That nail puller is essentially useless
Never do a video acknowledging someone that doesn’t have a life and doesn’t have something valuable to add. F that guy. F his thoughts. If he had something valuable to say, he’d have a video that people actually watched. He doesn’t. Osage is extremely temperamental. If you work with soft woods, poplar, or even oak… don’t even think about judging until you branch out and try to work one one of the most difficult woods out there, like Osage. Don’t want to hear you opinion on it until you put the work in. It’s no joke. A knot in oak is not the same as a knot in Osage. Thank you for sharing your journey. I’m slowly replacing most handles for tools in my shop with Osage. I’m doing this for “fun” but it’s really making me respect your work. I ran into a lot of cleanish Osage lumber that I couldn’t turn down. This stuff is incredible. I can’t imagine sharing my experience. I’d have to mute most of it. Keep it up and keep sharing. F the trolls.
I hope you're doing your due diligence to make sure the axe didn't belong to Abraham Lincoln or Paul Bunyan or Lizzy Borden... smh... Some people shouldn't be allowed to comment on KZhead... keep up the great work!
😂. Thanks Garret
I couldn’t agree more. I get some dumb comments and I’ve just started.
