Ermes has commented after his 3-0 defeat against Alizhan that the Kazakh is too strong for him at the moment. Despite having prepared his left arm for 2-3 months, Alizhan is at a higher level. Ermes considers Alizhan one of the two or three best left-arm armwrestlers in the world.
Ermes thinks that the next time he faces him, his left arm should be closer to the level of his right arm and he should be more confident in his chances. Currently, his left arm is 20% weaker than his right arm.
Ermes accepts defeat and does not want to make excuses. He simply did not like that Alizhan, after the match on stage, gave him a handle advising him to train his wrist.

I genuinely believe Alizhan didn’t have bad intentions or wanted to insult Ermes by gifting equipment. He’s working on building his own armwrestling equipment brand and giving these gift to few people already. I think Ermes is overthinking this too much.

Well I remember Alizhan team were also give a gift to Prudnyk in previous EvsW, and there is no disrespect intention on it. Like Prudnyk even mocking the Kazakh anthem in press conference, but after the match the Kazakh show it that no hate each other. Alizhan solidified he is at the very top left hand. But that gift and condescending advice part is what really blows my mind. Let's say if Ermes' right and left are equal i.e. never considered a top-elite puller either right or left therefore Alizhan is on a whole other level then maybe he has some factual base(though still morally questionable) to openly teach him some extra lesson like "you need to LEARN how to be strong, kid" thing. But Ermes is clearly a top right puller who doesn't focus on his left, which means he clearly KNEW how to be that great but just cannot make his left magically catch up with his right without adequate investment. It is just outrageously offensive, in my humble opinion.

Wheight has little to do with tendon strength. Sure, if you have bigger arms your tendons will be bigger and stronger and can hold more weight, but overall body weight is irrelevant. Why do you think Oleg Zohk can defeat people in several weight classes above him? His arm is fucking huge and can hold more weight. Most people think armwrestling is a technical sport, it’s not, it’s about which person has stronger tendons and better leverage. Why do you think John brzenk dominated the sport for soooo many years? He armwrestled a lot and he won a lot. That’s all there is to it. And genetics ofc.

He accepted the match against Ermes even if Devon himself thought he was going to lose as he has stated. I agree with try to combine different pullers but if two pullers are on completely different levels it makes no sense and Devon and Alisha’s are on completely different levels both on left and right arm

People should interiorize a simple concept: what happens before the table, what they say, what they do to provoke the opponent, is only business, only for the show and to grow up the hype for the event, in the 99% of the cases at least. These athletes know well what means to prepare properly to a match, what means respect the opponent by giving him the best version possible of themself at that moment and what takes in terms of physical sacrifice during the training. You can see the truth after the ending of the match, where there are hugs, compliments, good words and huge demonstrations of respect regardless the results. Clearly, a defeat for a competitive man is always not that pleasant, but is also a chance to get a lesson and an improvement. So give to all the trash talking thing the right weight, is for the show (I'm not a fan of this, but it is what it is). There is a huge difference between provoking before the match and mocking the opponent after it. Imho that was not Alizhan's finest hour. Hope that both will have a chance to clarify that bad episode. Talking about the match, Alizhan proves himself as one of the top 2 left arm wrestlers right now. Ermes, as ever, didn't make excuses accepting that he found a wall. I'm sure that, as happened with the defeat vs Devon, he will improve to come back stronger
Honestly being Kazakh myself I can tell it’s a typical cultural misunderstanding. Gifting a present is sign of respect, not the sign of mockery. I also believe Alizhan just has a totally different mentality when it comes to losing or winning, he’s chill about and he take it easy so I guess he assumes that other people same, that’s why didn’t think that giving a gift would upset Ermes so much. These are my thoughts, I genuinely don’t think Alizhan had any bad intentions.
