27 Months On Mars: Flying Over A Mars Rover!

2023 ж. 1 Мау.

In this episode, Perseverance and Ingenuity make significant discoveries on the Martian delta. Perseverance is occupied with depositing samples for future collection and discovering intriguing substances, while Ingenuity conducts several breathtaking flights over the delta, providing impressive color images.
One of the most notable parts of the episode is when both explorers make their way up the delta through Hawksbill Gap, leading to the discovery of a formation named 'Pinestand.' This feature challenges our understanding of Martian hydrology, as it suggests the existence of an ancient river, larger and faster than any other water system discovered on Mars, flowing into Jezero crater.
The evidence presented in this episode is groundbreaking, demonstrating the scale of water systems on ancient Mars, perhaps rivaling Earth's Mississippi River. This discovery, alongside the visible remnants of what are believed to be sand bars, strongly supports the theory that Mars was once a wet planet.
On Sol 724, plans for a meeting between Perseverance and Ingenuity are revealed, leading to a record-breaking drive by the rover on Sol 728 to witness another flight of Ingenuity. Amidst these achievements, the loss of the rover's hitchhiking pet rock, a small stone that had lodged in the wheel and traveled along for a year, is notably mourned.
Despite minor communication issues due to hilly terrain, Perseverance reaches the Belva crater on Sol 772, and the episode concludes with Ingenuity capturing an image of the rover observing the crater from a distance.

  • Hello fellow Mars Pioneers, This episode has been a thrill to document! It's not everyday we get discoveries like this on Mars. We've been saying it for years now, Mars had water! Lots of water! Thanks for being a part of this journey with us, and thanks for all your wonderful messages of support. Special thanks to all of you who are supporting us on Patreon, it really means the world! Join here: patreon.com/elderfoxdocumentaries I'd just like to say how grateful I am for all of your support, positive comments, likes, shares and subscribes. • Mars is a dead planet. There is nothing except a secret underground Gray base, a hangar for flying saucer ships. I took my son inside this base. There are more than 50 robots inside. The internal scanner system detected my son's presence as a heat spot. He came out like a bolt of lightning. It was only weeks later that the Grays identified that it was my son, and came after him with 3 ships. The Grays even scanned my son's brain. I took my son to the planet Venus, he saw the big and beautiful golden city of Venus with its majestic population. I can take a person to any planet in the solar system. rio de janeiro Brazil

  • Humans are such interesting creatures, I realized just now, when I found myself feeling sad about the pet rock's journey finally ending. I was out here really just personifying and getting attached to a martian rock so far away from me that I can't fully even comprehend the scale- just because it sat in tye wheel of a rover for so long that many people including myself started to see it almost as an unexpected companion rather than just a mildly inconvenient but overall harmless hitchhiker. It's kind of similar to how we have such a strong urge to pet everything with fur that moves, even if it could snap our bones in half with one bite. I imagine aliens probably would find these things both interesting, but also mildly horrifying because of how we could end up endangering ourselves just to boop a lion or something.

It's a perfectly good location for a life bearing planet but is too small to have a magnetic core for protection from the the Sun's radiation. It's kinda weird as planets usually get larger as their distance from the Sun increases.
