He didn't completely trust her. SS already had trust issues because of how she was treated in her family, then she met LB and he managed to manipulate her into the relationship, not saying he didn't love her, she gradually trusted him and she thought that was one person in her life she can blindly rely on, she did ask him multiple if there is something he should tell her and she won't judge him. I think she was hurt the most when he said he didn't regret abandoning her, people keep forgetting that the poor girl was abandoned her entire life, first by parents now her life partner, so don't even blame SS

It's ridiculous that people would say that he both loved her and manipulated her into a relationship. Ya'll can't have one foot in the door and the other out just so you can put the blame all on him, yet, still justify Shao Shang taking him back in the end. Either his feelings for her were sincere or he never loved her and simply manipulated/tricked her.
@@divinearia1601 you are probably living under a rock, for him revenge was everything and that's understandable, I will give that to him, he didn't have to involve shoshang into his mess, funny how he blamed her for not trusting him, but have been hiding everything including his identity from her, that was a girl who already had trust and abandonment issues since childhood, how would you blame her ?? Even after everything she kept asking him to trust her with his secret he refused time and again. So yeah Ling buyi had his reasons but absolutely hate people who blame shao shang for being immature when she was literally a 15 year old kid
@aalinalove ...judging by their actions up to that point though, Shao Shang had no reason not to trust him while he had every reason not to trust her with his life-long agendas and past after she sabotaged his plans and outright told him she didn't care about consequences, even when he asked her what if her actions harmed him in the process. There's a huge difference. For example, it was clear Shao Shang cared more about aiding the empress than avoiding harming LBY's plans to help the country. Why should he tell her what he's doing when she won't hesitate to throw water all over his agendas? Since she has made it clear that she cares more about the empress, one individual over the well-being of an entire country, she cannot expect LBY to trust her. And I don't think it's okay to have trust issues with people simply because of one's past. You all should admit she needed to grow and to better herself. Her past shouldn't be used to justify her current behaviors toward others. While it is understandable why she is that way, she needed to grow, not just continue being the way she is. It was ridiculous how much she stubbornly victimized herself and refused to change though. And it's laughable that you claim he involved her in his mess. She chose to involve herself, even after he begged her not to. She threw a tantrum about him trying to "control" her when he asked her not to get involved. This girl complained all drama long about simply wanting to live in peace, yet, she constantly felt the need to stick her nose in everyone's business, even business not of her expertise or understanding. Her double-standards make her an incredibly difficult and annoying person to deal with. I mean, for being someone with trust issues, she sure trusts all the bad guys who actually want to harm her pretty easily(the Crown princess, Wang Ling, that Lady Lou, etc). For whatever reason, it's mostly just LBY, the one person who saved her over and over, that she has no trust or faith in 🙄
When he said he didn’t regret it I think she was even more wounded. If he had said he regretted it might have changed how she felt.
The only scene where we can see Ling Buyi was hurt and weak. Zhao Lusi said in one interview no one thought Shaoshang was pitiful. Most people thought Buyi was pitiful, especially in this scene. But I think a lot of us pitied Shaoshang especially in her situation with her mother. Also in this scene, I understand both their points of view. I pitied both LBY and SS. They both had their trauma since childhood and both are massive. It’s just that LBY’s trauma concerned politics and nation (war, betrayal, genocide and all that duty to avenge his dead family) and so the pressures are more obvious and tangible. But that doesn’t mean SS was in the wrong to break up with him. She always said she wanted to live peacefully with someone ordinary. It’s just that both she and LBY were not ordinary people in their own way and also in the same way, and they happen to be the love of each other’s life😅
I agree but he saw his cousin and his family up there. I know he would still have nightmares about that and that kind of trauma doesn't go away ever. You just learn how to cope and his revenge was how.
@@loulouwillis5648 That’s so true. Somewhere in the original novel, there was a sad and traumatic inner monologue of LBY. It said that after his family’s tragedy, he thought maybe he was born only to witness the tragic deaths of his family, he thought that was his purpose in life even after his revenge and after 5years at the border, until when he was back and when SS made him laugh without restraint and he realized he wanted love and happiness after all. He began to pursue SS again afterwards.
Well, I don't know why they wouldn't break up at this point. Didn't he say their fate was broken?
@@babybabibaby Yeah, that was Ling Buyi’s fault. One doesn’t simply say that line after declaring his love for Xiaoshang and earning her love in return.
She didn't love him enough because she loved herself more. There was no understanding whatsoever from her perspective. I wish they'd gone their own separate ways in the end. That's how I honestly feel about this couple.
My heart hurts and I cry every time I see this episode. You can see the grief and pain in ShaoShang’s entire body and Huo Buyi too is full of grief but also shame. He knows he crushed her spirit when he left her for his revenge. I think everyone else was in shock as well.
To those who think SS is being unreasonable or those who claim SS didn't love him enough, you have to remember she's the one who refuted on his behalf since even the third prince doesn't know Zisheng's real identity, she was the one who figured out on her own and also warned third prince about someone trying to kill LBY and she was the one who cleverly investigated/persuaded marquees Chengyang inorder to prove LBY is infact General Huo's son. When he cried there's no other way for him in the rain he was filled with rage he couldn't think straight. Sure SS did not trust him before but she learnt to grow and depend on him. Again it's not necessary to blame him either but it's always give and take in any relationship. If he wanted her trust he should give it first. She could clearly see why he had to do that. She understood him very well. It's just she is not the type to be grateful to people who make decisions on her behalf claiming it's for her own good. Remember when she was born her parents had to leave because of war and then her engagement to Luo Yao was cancelled because of another battle and now Gu city's revenge plan. I understand that these issues as war, treason and revenge are bigger than her life but why is she always the one who has to face the consequences of everybody else's sacrifices. No wonder she thought she was unlucky. Nobody even cares to acknowledge her pain since it seems trivial to everyone else saying she should be grateful because it's for her own good. I don't know but imagine being kept in the dark while constantly being told you don't know anything and noone actually says anything. If she really did feel grateful for how LBY chose to sacrifice himself for her safety and lived her life like every other woman and moved on, LBY would have been marked a traitor and would have died already. But that's not the SS we all love. That's not the SS Huo Buyi loves. She chose to save him like she did and stood by her words to cancel the engagement. Also if you observe carefully Huo Buyi is like " I dare not ask for your forgiveness". Like even now he's making decisions himself never giving her the choice to forgive him. Geez just say "sorry" and whether she forgives you or not is her choice. Whatever these two are equally stubborn idiots. I love them both.😊❤

Shaoshang never thought love of her life would abandoned her💔 It’s heartbreaking to watch them separate. If only he just trusted her.
If only he just trusted her...as if she has any faith in his sincerity either. And he's actually valid in not trusting her with some of the biggest plans of his life since she consistently says she doesn't care about consequences, interferes at will without consulting him due to her own agendas, and complains that she doesn't want to listen or to obey because she doesn't want to be "controlled". She, on the other hand, has no reason not to have faith in him since he has done nothing but protected her butt and clean up her messes over and over.
She was the one who literally found the last and apparently the most important piece of evidence that showed that Ling Yi had committed treason. She went about causing trouble because she was young and unrestrained, but she was a sharp one. Her perceptiveness ended up getting the evidence that proved, even after his revenge, that what Zisheng said was true. The only reason he went down the path of bloodshed was because he thought all evidences and witnesses had been cut loose, that there was no other choice left now, otherwise he too wanted proper justice. That's why he was investigating. If he had trusted Shaoshang after they made the bite oath, she would have helped him find the key evidence thru Madam Li, Ling Yi's wife, as she did anyway. None of this needed to happen. That's the point. He wanted her to trust him, to let him take her revenge for her, to clean up her mess without ever explaining what she did wrong and how she could avoid repeating her mistakes. But when it came to reciprocate that, he didn't want to tell her his real name even after she had shown how capable and trustworthy she could be. It seems your perception of Shaoshang is based only on the first half of their interactions. Oh well.
@@divinearia1601 She didn't have much faith in him because he always hid his troubles from her. She asked him 3 different times of what bothered him and he always lied. She had to figure out everything about him on her own. Its honestly sad to even think that she didn't even know the true identity of her lover while he could've been dead. Just like how he takes in the consequences of her actions, she wants to take the consequences of his actions. He always tells her that a couple should share their problems and confine in each other, she learned to do that over time, but he never has. He consistently never tells her anything until its too late. Also the part of her not wanting to be controlled was in the earlier episodes of the drama. By this time where he abandons her, she only wanted to live peacefully and normally after seeing all these couples live horribly. She wanted to trust him, but she was smart to know that his words always had holes in them and there were many things he wasn't telling her. Also remember that she is 15 and had only recently received a proper education from the Empress.
@@megv7481 I honestly feel sad every time I watch the scene where she tells the 3rd prince she didn't even know the true identity of her lover while he could've been dead. Her suspicion was only fully proven with the Emperors knowledge of Wusheng's birth mark.
it is not about trust, it is about choosing the wright way. he choose violence and revenge instead of love and marriage. in the end they did found any needed evidence for the betray of Ling family and everyone else. so it is was possible for him to marry her first and then dig dipper to find another way. and that , for my opinion, what was painful for her. you don't want marry a man that always choose revenge/country over you without mutual agreement.
Everything about this scene was perfect, and tragic. Brilliant writing, directing, acting, and soundtrack.
i never noticed how much the music elevated the scene. those bursts of flute make me think of how much restriant Shaoshang had to not slap him up in his weak state.

Watched this super great drama multiple times. Yet, still crying upon hearing HBY confession about abandoning CSS till the end. We know how CSS detest being abandoned again & again in her life. All in all, all of them relayed this scene beyond perfection! 💕💕💕
🌸 This scene was fantastic! I can understand why she broke off her engagement. She has serious trust issues and yet she still gave him 100% of her trust, so when he chose to do what he did, he should have known that by abandoning her she would cut him loose. She had warned him! That’s what the beating of LBY by the Emperor was all about…….Shaoshang finally letting go of her trust issues and being able to give him all of her love. She was so smart that she could have helped him! Look how she worked out with Yuan about the statue hiding clues.

She gave him 100% of her trust? Not true. At all. She never trusted in his sincere feelings for her from the beginning of the drama until pretty much the last few minutes of the drama. If she'd trusted LBY, she would not have listened to Wang Ling or gotten angry with LBY and doubted him when Wang Ling told her that LBY was a terrible human being. She listened to Wang Ling and actually had a hand in getting Peng Kun killed off by Ling Yi before LBY could get the answers he needed. It's terrible that she had way more trust and faith in all the bad guys who actually wanted to harm her than she ever did in LBY even though he saved life over and over. Ya'll keep talking about how LBY "abandoned" her, but you won't acknowledge that she harmed him by constantly pouring water all over his plans because she was all about herself and far more interested in helping the empress(even at the cost of harming the country) than she was in making sure she wasn't harming the person she was planning to marry. She really did not care about consequences to him.
She didn't know. No matter how she is, there's only so much she could do and figure out without all the pieces or enough of the right ones.
@vixendreamer ...she didn't know? She straight-up told LBY early on that she didn't care about consequences when he told her that her actions might harm the country and possibly even him. Shao Shang does not care about consequences to things that do not directly impact her because she's so self-centered, always fixated on herself and her own wants. She went into this whole fixation on her need to be free and threw a tantrum about how he was just trying to control her. And who the heck takes actions without understanding situations first? If she didn't know, she should have spent time trying to figure out what was going on before doing anything, not just randomly doing harmful things to LBY. It reinforces the narrative that she clearly doesn't care about the rippling consequences of her actions. She has all these horrible flaws because of her rough childhood...we understand that, but then she should have had a desire to learn and to better herself as a person instead of just victimizing herself and making excuses to stay the same. She outright refused to change, demanding that people just accept all her terrible flaws. Stubborn. I don't even mind that she made mistakes, but the worst part was that she wouldn't hold herself accountable for her actions and blamed everything that went wrong on LBY, punishing him for years. It's so ridiculous that someone so flawed, someone who had a hand in why things went so wrong, should be dishing out punishment to others for not being perfect and not living up to her expectations.

Sure she didn't trust him in the beginning & was more focused on herself (rightfully so cuz who tf is even this guy for her by that time?) He was tbe one chasing her not the other way round, with all the abandonment & trust issues from her childhood + ling buyi's scary personality no wonder she didn't trust him. But at one point she starts realising she really started to fall in love with him specially after when he makes her realise, she's wrong for not thinking about consequences, or even almost harming him. She stops her antics after she falls for him completely. By that time she trusts him 100%. She constantly asks him to tell her if something's bothering him but he doesn't (he was trying to protect her so I don't blame him) but imagine this from ss pov, it's too bad with her trusts issues. Also she's 100% right in fully blaming buyi & keeping him away for all those years (she didn't, the emperor did it, she literally accepts him few days after he comes back the moment she thought he was going to die lmao) if anything she didn't punish him harsh enough. Remember it was him who knew from the beginning about his revenge not her, yet chose to pursue her despite knowing he'll have to leave her 1 day because he can't jeopardise his loved ones. He chased after her knowingly even when she wasn't interested so now he had no right to complain if she's mad he betrayed her trust & abandoned her exactly like her parents
The strength she showed in this scene, choosing herself when everyone else consistently abandoned her was epic. I loved this show bc this FL. FL was intelligent, honest, kind, loyal, generous and had a strength and the actress was brilliant in her portrayal of this character

😥😢😭 ugly crying over here. My gosh....these two. I feel their love and pain. I really have fallen in love with the characters General Hu and Niao Niao. The actors do an amazing job Heck, I feel all their pain. This is such a wonderful drama. They all can tell he is not telling the truth. He loves her so much
at first, I didn't agreed with SS, but later I understood that I wouldn't forgive easily too. She gave him at list 3 opportunities to say about his identity or plans. And he never considered it's important enough to shear with her his the most deep pain an secret. And choose the bloody ways instead to marry her, even if it was not to have a full revenge. She found now everything he needed for full revenge.
How I love the soundtrack of this drama. Again in this scene where Shaoshang joins the men and the Empress in the Emperor’s chamber. Delicate, minimal and prickly to accommodate the high tension in the room. Much is already said and more truth will bespoken. Everyone is raw and in pieces.

I think if BY told her about everything way before these events at least a week before, She definitely will come up with a better idea to save him and skip all the hassle and the exilement of LBY and save 5 years of their relationship. Imagined if Hwang Ho didn't fall extremely ill he will stay on the border for 2 more years, and SS would definitely marry YSJ and have at least 1 or 2 kids. Then he will have 0 chances to fix the relationship...

Vuelvo a ver esta escena y reafirmo que eñ final de esta serie es el unico pero que le veo. El protagonista antepuso una venganza al amor que le profesa a la protagonista. Fue cruel y muy egoista, especialmente porque conocia sus antecedentes y el abandono que sufrió a manos de sus padres y aun asi reafirma no arrepentirse de haberla abandonado. Uff se necesita poco amor propio y un exceso de ingenuidad para volver a aceptar en la vida a alguien así. Ame la serie, excepto el final. La serie pintó a una mujer con fortaleza emocional, independiente, aguerrida, segura de si misma, pero con ese desenlace cuestioné todo lo anterior.
I have made a mistake. This show started popping up on my Facebook a few days ago, and I came to KZhead to watch it. So I’ve been watching these shorter clips of the show because I love their relationship and didn’t want to start at the beginning and have to wait for the good stuff. But THEN I see this crazy shit that he pulls, and their engagement gets called off? And now I have to actually start watching the show knowing this os going to happen? 😭

LBY is a complex character. Yes he wants revenge but killing Ling Yi (his enemy) by himself was never the plan in the first place. His initial scheme was to finding all relating parties contributed to the Massacre at the Lone City. He knew LY was the one who killed his father, and what he tried to do was harvesting enough evidences to uncover his crime and let the Emperor kill him officially. At first when he started to fall in love with CSS, he was unsure if he should pursue her. He didn’t want to get her into his troubled life and that’s why when he knew she has engaged with Lou Yao, he stepped back and let her be (he thought that she liked LY and would be more happy with LY than with him. He knew he was a bad guy himself and was not good for her). Ay that point, LBY had been ready to let her go. But then when He general sacrificed himself and his death-wish was to get his daughter to get back with LY. This resulted into the CSS couldn’t marry LY and she became so miserable because of all the gossip and rumors and also because loosing the chance of leaving the house and have a life for her own. When LBY saw her crying in pain when she was with him in the horse carriage he couldn’t stand to let her go anymore. That was when LBY decided to take his chance to be with her, to protect her and bring her the happiness she deserves. Also at this point he already had more clues and even got his first revenge. He was positive and thought he could have achieved his plan. So far his scheme has gone quite smoothly and he had all the reasons to believe that everything would work out in the end. But then of course complications happened. His (pretended) mother died. All his witnesses had been murdered. His plan was going into dead-end. Only then he understood that he couldn’t kill the bastard with the righteous method. Only way left for LBY is killing the enemy himself. And that was why he decided to abandon SS to not get her involved into his crime😮💨

I was tuinking like what the majority thinks.. why did he pursue SS in the 1st place, n now i underatand.. i forgot the part his plan wasnt going smoothly because Peng Khun died n his LBY plan was ruined n the only thing he could do is to kill him illegally. Thank u so muchhh. I believe he didnt want to drag SS n her family into this. But LBY did regret his choice right at the end? Also, did he mean he didnt regret it by didnt regret having his revenge and didnt choose SS? But i did hate him because after the 5 yrs apart, he only said to SS “i didnt darw to ask for ur forgivenes” or “i knew i dont have the chance anymore”.. like bruh.. u r giving a statement.. how is she going to reply.. cant he said “pleaee give me one more chance n i will treat u better” or “i regretted my choice, please forgive me” n saying this by hug or hold her hands…instead when she said “i’ll take good care of myself”, he alao said the same thing.. dude at least tell her i love uuu n not letting her go.. Also, why he was banished? He killed a traitor n the emperor didnt even banish him.. why he asked to be banished? N thr day he was about to leave, he asked his men to send message to SS that he wanted to meet at the capital gate.. dudeee.. cant u showed up in front of her house n wait there instead of asking her to go n meet him.. i was kinda furious.. i watched love between fairy n devil.. when the goddess tried to pushed the male lead away, he tried his best to be with her even willing to be her servant so he can be near her n so she can get back her memory.. what a difference.. Also, why did SS lock herself in chanqiu palace for thr sake of LBY? I dont get it.. please answer me.. i cant move on from this drama😭😭😭😭

For him, until that moment, that was still the best option: leaving her out of his crime so SS and her family wouldn’t be involved (if he married her and killed LY then SS’s family would be punished for his crime as well). He made this decision out for the best interest of his loved one. But of course only if he would be executed for his killing (or dead by the suacidal jumping off the cliff). But he didn’t die. And even worse SS helped to save him by telling all the truth and prove his rightous cause of killing LY. Thank to that, the King didn’t have to sentence him to death but excile him instead. SS loved him still but couldn’t forgive him for abandoning her. He even used her as parts of his scheme, refused to tell her the truth about his true identity. He didn’t completely trust her or considering her feelings when she learned the truth. Unable to deal with all the pain and trauma, SS chose to lock herself up with the Empress in the Endless spring palace. She by the moment had decided to close her heart to the outside world for good and refuse to get married with anyone. Both of them suffered from longging and loving each others but couldnt let go of their guilt (LBY) and pride (SS) in 5 long years. Of course after 5 years when they finally met again they realize they still loved each others so much. In the novel, it was LBY took the first move, to beg for SS forgiveness and claim to win her back. In the film, however the writer changed up a bit. LBY still expressed his unchanged feeling but he didn’t force SS to come back with him but respect her decision no matter what. SS still acted stubbornly and wanted to move on, living as an unmarried woman. But many incidents happened and she finally realized she couldn’t live without LBY so they re-united in the end. Happy ending.

@@windy2610 i was really dissapointed w lby in the drama after he massacre ling yi. Before he left for his banishment, he send his men to tell SS to meet him at the capital gate. I was like .. why cant he wait for her in front of her house instead of asking her to go to meet him.. so ungentleman of him.. after the 5yrs, when he helped Ss get on her horse, he said something like be careful mext time but i think it kinda hostile coming from him knowing before he was always soft spoken to ss. Then sfter he rescued her from the cliff, she said i can go back by myself, n he replied “ then i’ll leave first”,… dude thats not how to win her back. Also after he carried her home after empress died, he said to her parents: i just send ss home, no other intention, so i’ll leave” no wonder this got ss’s dad furious. And at night, when they have a long chat, she said “ i’ll take good care of myself…. Etc”.. he went on saying the same thing😨.. like at least hold her hands, say to her pls forgive me, i will treat u better.. but nope..all lby said is giving statement abt how he doesnt deserve her forgiveness without giving ss ss to respond.. how is she going to reply..u can see tht night after she said i will take care of myself, she wanted him to hold her back..to say words of comfort to her .. but nothing comes out from his mouth… aaaarghhhh got me frustrated😡😡.. If u watched LBFD.. even though the FL tried to push the ML away, but he realised his mistske n willing to stay behind with her even as her servant when he himself is the king of moon tribe.
@@jojovv5854 haha please dont hate him in the film. I still love the version of LBY in the film very much. He respected SS and didnt force on her. That’s a sign indicated he was a changed man, no longer trying to manipulating SS into his plan and desire. Another reason why LBY acted like that in the film is because the writer wants SS to be in a more independent role, a kind of feminist movement to suit with today’s idea of woke culture. So they watered down LBY determination of winning SS back. I still love this version of him, LBY in the movie shows alot of weakness and softness towards SS. Still he proved his undying love by actions. Saving her constantly and clear everything on her path to a happy and stable marriage with Shan Jian. That’s his way of apologizing and making up for her. I find that very noble and unselfish of him and so, he is deserved to have her love back.
somehow in this series i always think Third prince @ concubine yue's son is more suitable of becoming crown prince... the Crown Prince @ Empress's son is too soft and easily being taken advantage by those bad minister and their bad relatives. He know his wife harm other lady out of jealousy but still let it happen until LBY n SS involves. Basically the crown prince can't survive the scheming plot of politics in the palace and country....
Man…there’re a lot of people saying that LBY didn’t trust SS but I think it’s actually that he was trying to protect her should things go sideways. We all know how SS is if he had told her she would have gotten her family involved and gotten then in even more trouble had things gone badly and I don’t think LBY wanted that at all
Nope he didnt trust her as a partner, a life partner. They should be equal facing it together. This was d valuable lesson he learnt the hard way, and he was tested at the finale amd this time he truly trusted her.
Yah..I do think that too, it's not LBY not trust her, LBY know she will ditch everything for him. She will stand up for him and he doesn't want that. But in the end look what it cost him? He got mad when she didnt tell him about the snake incident. Why cant she get mad for not telling her his plan? zisheng expected communication from her and to be open with him… Meanwhile he wasnt holding himself up to the same expectation of the communication between the 2. We already know niao niao has trust issues. It just proved her paranoia. Plus she was always left to fend for herself.
I can't help but think that even if he didn't tell her to protect her there is no way she wouldn't have been tainted in the eyes of the world. They were seen as being quite affectionate there is no way gossip wouldn't go around that there was no way she didn't know, or people talking about how she was used by LBY for his revenge. He put his plan into action knowing it would mean his death without knowing she had figured everything out. If he'd died, 2 failed engagements one with a man who in the eyes of society committed patricide and was impeached. She'd have little chance of getting to do the things she wanted to she'd likely be ostracised. There's only so much the Emperor and her family could do to protect her if they weren't able to prove his reasons and identity. One of the reasons she went to live with the ex-empress was to avoid all the gossip and mocking from people. He was cleared of charges and people still mocked her for being stupid that someone of LBY's stature would love someone of hers. Of course he used her to hide his revenge (from the book). So not telling her to protect her, protects her from dying immediately does kind of screw her for the rest of her life. I do love this scene. Just because he did it for protection, with the best of intentions it doesn't stop the fact that he destroyed her faith and trust in him. I like the break up if they had stayed together I think she would have hated him, never given him a chance. Time apart gave her time to close the open wound a little.
Admired SS for breaking off the engagement. She deserves better, she doesn't need a man in her life, she can be happy and free as a single.

niao niao discovered his identity and she connected the dots about her falling from the pagoda and asked him " do you want to tell me something and not to judge him", because she knew he is doing shady things with 3rd prince then amd waited for the secret to be shared with her. I believe she loved him so much she would even help him. And with that abandon he failed his love test. Shao Shang wanted for once not to be abandoned , yet he did that to take revenge on his family murderers and also helped 3rd prince to be tiltled as the crown prince. He put her below his revenge and powerplay. And I think he never loved her as her. He loved he possesed her, forced her to accept him by proposing to the emperor( declining would even end up in killing her whole family or the least- banishment), forced her to learn how to love and trust him. But he thought of her as his fiancee , not as a capable individual. Watch please the iconic argument between Niao Niao and 3rd prince. She left him speechless pointing out that she does not need Ling Buyi to achieve greatness or weath as she was capable inventor and knew her worth. Just because she is a woman does not mean she cannot support or fight for her loved ones. Just because she is a lady , does not mean she loves less or is not able to sacrifice. She is mad mostly that in the end Ling Buyi has never understood who is she and that she is not an addition to him to be tossed out whenever he likes it. She wanted to be an equal partner to this relationship and he did not even consider giving that to her
All the feelings are still there when I watch every clip. Classic case of wanting your cake and to eat it too. He never wanted to involve her but he couldn't let her be free in case someone else came along before he had completed his revenge. Then when everything fell apart and right out killing his uncle was his only way out he knew he couldn't have both things so he chose death in all things. The thing is in that moment his past scolding of her not trusting, relying, and seeing them as one came back to haunt their relationship. She would have gone to the ends of the earth with him and he knew that but he didn't want to sacrifice her. He failed his own proclamation of TOGETHERNESS. In wanting to protect they all chose to abandon her.

Tbh if i were him i wouldn't tell her my plans either. She has acted immature throughout the whole drama and makes silly revenge plans without thinking of the consequences. She's like a silly child who thinks she's in a playground instead of the Palace, a place with murderers in every corner. Plus, getting revenge/ justice for his whole family and hundreds of their slain soldiers/people is always going to be more important than a love affair.
And I'll say it again, the things she said she did, she really didn't. She liked him, yes without a doubt (eventually 😅) but regarding their relationship, she didn't believe in him, and she didn't trust him. She really watched a movie of herself with LBY's actions, so she can't claim all this stuff about being wholehearted (at least what she calls wholehearted - I know she's ride or die), and as usual she places little values on the big picture. Still, I feel bad dor them both.
He didn't completely trust her. SS already had trust issues because of how she was treated in her family, then she met LB and he managed to manipulate her into the relationship, not saying he didn't love her, she gradually trusted him and she thought that was one person in her life she can blindly rely on, she did ask him multiple if there is something he should tell her and she won't judge him. I think she was hurt the most when he said he didn't regret abandoning her, people keep forgetting that the poor girl was abandoned her entire life, first by parents now her life partner, so don't even blame SS
