The money and the fame never changed Stipe. Respect
all truths must be told
Yes it did he keep asking for a title shot every time he loses 😆
That fact that he had to go full time to get pension and benefits should tell you all you need to know about the money. Pretty sad that people at the highest level of this sport are not taken care of
@@iwillrateyou9375 We all have our faults lmao 😂
what money lol
That’s a tough task for having just lost his father. Glad he is going to be able to take more time than that before getting back in the octagon. Stipe is the man
O H
if i fall there will be another
I just wish we heard the news earlier, I honestly thought Stipe was retired.

@@madgavin7568 Casual 🤡
The way the UFC has treated Stipe is disgraceful. He’s the longest reigning HW champion in history of the company, they promote his as an All-American Firefighter, they they basically trashed him for choosing to help save lives during Covid and be a firefighter instead of fighting. Really messed up by UFC.
He was kind of Francis Don't want to fight actively or has interest in opponents Just want to box for huge money
Meanwhile Dana's been beating his wife like an honorable pillar of society
You cant blame an employer for being mad at their employee for not showing up in a time of need
@@Chyeahokay I would agree with you but ufc fighters are not employees but independent contractors
@@Chyeahokaythey aren’t employees. I’m sure his department needed him too.
Stipe: “no “ Ariel was crying on the inside when he said he didn’t miss him😹
He was broken when Richard Shaffer told him the UFC pay structure was miles better than in boxing contrary to popular belief. He thought it would be his moment to take some cheap shots at Dana again.
@@amg863 Just because you're better than another scummy sport doesn't make your actions good...
@@ERASA it's never going to be good enough for you. You don't want to hear about the fighters who are happy and making a lot of money.
@@amg863 " the UFC pay structure was miles better than in boxing contrary to popular belief." If you are at the bottom of the UFC roster. If you are at the top, then the UFC is WORSE (by a long shot) than boxing. The richest UFC fighter needed a boxing match and alcohol sales to create his generational wealth. The UFC alone was NEVER going to get him to that level. That is all the evidence I need to know that the UFC is not good for popular fighters. It works well for less popular fighters and women. The UFC is like Canada. If you are at the bottom of society, then it helps you, but when you are at the top, a lot of your success is taken from you to feed the people at the bottom. If a Presidential Candidate asked Americans to structure American domestic economy the like "the UFC pay structure," then many Republicans who support the UFC would call him a "woke socialist/communist." Stipe is just a great guy out there saving lives and fighting. God bless him and his family.

Firefighters aren’t out there saving lives constantly. There day is playing card games. Making large quantities of food and menial calls. The 9/11 debacle made people think they’re laying their life on the line every day. It’s one of the safest jobs a person can have. You just sit around the majority of your days and hang out with dudes instead of being with your family. Being say a garbage man is 10x as dangerous and deadly as a fireman.
He is saving lives and ending careers
Stipe is such a good dude. Humble as they come. How could you not be a fan.

Stipe is one of my favorite fighters, he doesn’t get enough credit for his greatness
The fact that he says that he has pension and benefits as a firefighter after being a top UFC fighter for so many years just proves how screwed up the UFC is in terms of treating their fighters - where this is a big deal to them. Just proves how underpaid the average fighter is while putting their lives and physical well-being on the line each fight!

@@phillipedwardness9591 well I do have to say that because I accept every facet of his character and don't turn heel as soon as there is any issues. He's a proud man so probably doesn't see it that way, but it's kinda sad that UFC's best heavyweight in history has to work full time in order to provide security to his family. Especially since he has been overlooked by the matchmakers for the past couple of years.
Them not giving him the fight against Jones is crazy to me. Makes me believe UFC thinks Cyril can win this and reign for years to come, so they want to get him going.
He works because he loves it, because life is pretty boring if you dont have work to do, a place to go out and be with people and do something useful. He isnt working because he has no money in the bank. I am pretty sure that he is financially set with just Cormier and Francis fights.
He is a millionaire..He doesn't have to be a firefighter .
@@walterpierce9743 You guys are so wrong. He got 750.000 per his last few fights, but that's about 3 years of good life for his family per fight. I worked at a lot of the fire houses in my city of Huntsville, AL and I can’t remember how many about 5 fire stations I worked in installing generators cause we had some bad tornados that shut the power down to the city for like a week so they installed generators. I really like Stipe and as a long-term fan I really liked him especially on his way up which I realize was a long time ago. I get no enthusiasm and no urgency from him whatsoever. Kind of a take-it-or-leave-it type of a thing. I really gotta send to this during the Cormier era. I get the same sense now in wonder if this is why that UFC passed on him. Stipe v Francis outside the UFC would be a huge fight. But I don’t know I think Jones v the flashlight may be the greatest fight ever.
Unfortunately Stipe is to inactive and to old to be a real threat to regain the HW belt imo. I would bet he ends up retiring after his next fight, especially if a loss.
From a match making perspective it makes sense because he can fight whoever wins the fight.
Looking good Stipe you have had your rest and Now you are going to be busy Francis gone without giving you Your re match having defended more than any other in the division
Hard to think of Stipe as the hw goat after seeing him get sparked out by ngannou. DC sparked him out a few years ago as well.
