This cute bird is known to be one of the most brightly colored and beautiful parrots. The Sun Parakeet’s bright yellow and orange plumage makes it very unique. It’s pretty small and only grows to be ten to twenty inches long. This species is only found in the western hemisphere and they live in groups that search for food and next together.
The flocks can contain up to twenty birds! This bird is often referred to as the “clown parrot” due to its extremely social behavior. It’s a great family bird that can be extremely affectionate and cuddly if you treat it gently. It can even mimic the human voice!
