    • Steffi of course, but no Shoutapova for me. Lot of bs gamesmanship in that one. One of the worst of the screaming loons who used that cheap move that only scrubs should have to try. Graff, like Navratilova, legends before her, Serena (generally speaking), Henin, Swiatek, Clijsters didn't have to use such tactics.

That Steffi‘s 902-115 (or 900-115) has been repeated for decades doesn’t mean anything. It is the same with many websites forgetting Steffi’s FedCup win against Evert in 1987, resulting in an alleged 7-6 H2H (instead of 8-6). • Pardon my language but id watched Steffi wash up after her dinner😅😅😅, the tennis world has been starved of this woman & her life experience as a tennis player. My dream is she does an in depth documentary of her career. But my theory is she won't because of the respect she has for Monica Seles & the tragedy the happened in Hamburg. Let me clear i am a Steffi fan 100%. But theirs no doubt that event changed tennus history. But as awful as it was for Monica, Steffi was deprived of the player i BELIEVE was destined to push her to even more greatness. Monica would have won at least a couple of those grand slams if she could have played. NO DOUBT Bur equally heartbreaking is its not STEFFIs fault that she couldn't. Monica fans refuse to allow for the FACT that Steffi could only play who turned up & it wasn't HER fault Monica couldn't. Surely ALL sekes/graf fans can agree that a joint GRAF/SELES documentary/interview of that horrible time would be EXTRAORDINARY.

  • As a tennis player, I have to say that I hate the kitchen with a passion. How are you supposed to stop at a line on your follow-thru. It's in place for a good reason, but one toe on the line after a shot is not grounds for forfeiting a point.

    @royfranklin3697@royfranklin36973 ай бұрын
    • it's just a different game. tennis is all about footwork but at the net, for PB, you move the torso. if you allow a toe, then eventually it's a foot, and so on and so forth. the line is drawn. glad you tried the sport out though.

I played hand ball ,badminton, racquet ball tennis and now for the last six years pickleball, it's addictive and out of all the sports using a paddle, racquet, ect pickleball is the most fun .Long crazy rallies mind blowing fire fights and you can play into your 80s.In fact playing pball is great for your cardio ,bones heart,and your brain .I consider it the fountain of youth..

    • The follow through at the kitchen line is arm only - and if you cantilever your body by bending knees (and basically sticking butt out) - it prevents you from falling into kitchen. Hope that makes sense.

      @claytonchadwick2677@claytonchadwick26773 ай бұрын
    • Yes, good point! But I've never had to run full speed up to the service line just as I was serving it. Also, if the motion of serving carries your over the service line after hitting the ball it is not a fault. You are not allowed to step on or over the line before your serve, but after you hit it it's fine. @@claytonchadwick2677

    • It has to be that way otherwise players can just smother the net and you’d have zero rallies.

      @kabob21@kabob213 ай бұрын
    • @@kabob21 I get the logic. But the same argument can be made for tennis. I’m sure Agassi would’ve loved a kitchen rule against Sampras. Why can’t players lob?

      @ER1CwC@ER1CwC3 ай бұрын
    • @@ER1CwC No in tennis the court and net is a lot bigger and the ball is a lot faster, so you are going to get passed or hit a lot harder so it is not the same. Also lobbing is easier in tennis as you can get more spin on the ball and shots are not as flat.

      @sirbrad4@sirbrad43 ай бұрын
    • @@sirbrad4 I see that. I think I just feel like it's a levelling-down sort of rule that hampers players who would otherwise be adept at charging and finishing points at the net. I cannot think of any comparable rule in any other racquet sport. It reminds me (ironically) of McEnroe's behaviour during the late 1990s and when big servers like Sampras and Krajicek emerged. Mac called for "something to be done" to slow down the game. Also reminds me of how Wimbledon added sand to its courts.

      @ER1CwC@ER1CwC3 ай бұрын
    • Yep, the kitchen is stupid. They could change the rule and allow volleying in the kitchen but the volley would have to go beyond the opponents kitchen line , or some other compromise, but if you reed the rule book(grotesquely dubious rules) and then see who is behind it you'll understand.
