STEFFI GRAF YOUR THE GOAT! 107 WTA TITLES at age 29 WOW ❤
I'm here for Steffi, the single most talented graceful athletic female to ever grace a racket 💛😉✌️
Me too.
The GOAT of womens tennis❤
She runs like a deer changes directions so quickly had the great forehand with the late preparation that didn't bother her one bit.
Anytime I get a chance to watch Steffi on any court is special for me. Steffi is my idol and Andre is a favorite too.
Steffi’s still got the amazing motions, both on the forehand and backhand side ❤
👍
Steffi and Maria together on the bench made my day. My 2 all time faves ❤️
Steffi of course, but no Shoutapova for me. Lot of bs gamesmanship in that one. One of the worst of the screaming loons who used that cheap move that only scrubs should have to try. Graff, like Navratilova, legends before her, Serena (generally speaking), Henin, Swiatek, Clijsters didn't have to use such tactics.
Agassi and Graf. Champions at whatever they do
Talent doesn't fade with age, everybody is so skilled still
Can't believe I'm seeing Maria and Steffi in one court!! Two different eras and my two favorite players!!
Штеффи в любой эпохе будет эталоном
Steffi and Maria super stars world tennis women models!!!❤❤❤
Got to see Andre and Steffi practicing a couple months ago on the court next to us on just my 2nd time ever playing. Quite a surprise when we walked into the facility. They take this seriously.
Loved to see Maria doing splits.
Maria is a beast and Andre has picked up his game considerably
Wow, Sharapova and Graf on one court.
graf's strokes are the same as her tennis strokes ... powerful forehand, slice backhand; meanwhile sharapova is so chill these days she obviously didn't do a crash course in pickleball due to hyper competitiveness. I'm impressed.
I honestly can feel Mr. McEnroe's frustration 😂 That damn kitchen line 😂
thank you for posting!!! been waiting to watch Steffi againnn!
One point in and McEnroe already broke his paddle. Gonna be a good one.
Wow, Staffi and Maria really had the best footwork on tour...
Maria's "footwork" would NEVER compare to STEFFI GRAF'S!! STEFFI AND MARTINA NAVRATILOVA were the BEST EVER. Fact...not opinion.
Steffi had the best footwork in women's tennis history.
@@rajusaha855 She trained with Germany track team, so her footwork is definitely something else. Maria is a great example of someone who has low foot speed but really good footwork. Not exactly the same thing.
That steffi forehand
What a great event and so fun to watch these tennis legends....
Agassi looks like he's truly having fun out there!
I watched his exhibition match last year, which was his first time playing and, afterwards Andre said that he had fun and planned on playing in the future- here we are! I think we will see more and more former tennis pros start playing because, it's highly competitive and you don't hv to be young or in world-class condition to play.
Aggsi improved his game and I can see he loves Pball
Great games. It's funny they only had 2 guitars with graphics for Andre and Steffe.
I was smiling a lot watching this
So great to see Stephanie on the court again.
James Blake is solid…he could become pickleball pro in no time!
no he couldn’t lmao he’s so far away
Any tennis pro can become a pb pro anytime they want, never the other way around 😂
@@y2jandy doesn’t seem to be true with all the guys that tried. jack is the only one that is good
The level has definitely improved since the first slam. Some good rallies.
Maria's hands are fast!
Seems like Jack was only playing 50% of his pickleball level. John got a little better, Andre got much better, Stefi did OK. Maria did good for only playing 6 weeks. James is pretty good. I would have liked to see some singles . Stefi does seems to have some knee pain though.
Good to see Jack just having a little fun. He could have killed it at any time.
you could tell he has learned to greatly minimize efforts and get amazing results - he's dialed in for sure on his new trade.
Fun to watch!
This event was so great for Pickleball. I sat and watched this with a couple who does not play Pickleball and afterwards, they said this event was sooo Cool!!!
This pickleball slam says a lot about this game. Tennis pros who retired decades ago can play, it is a fun recreational game, but not much a competitive spectator sports. (Think about netball and basketball) For me most of the fun in watching it was seeing these tennis legends.
Glad to see or hear that Maria is not shrieking every time she hits the ball.
Amazing Fun... These are the times!
What a sport… where these athletes of different eras and ages can come together and compete
Штеффи Граф в отличной форме👍👍👍Steffi the best❤❤❤
Both sports amazing in their own ways. Enough said! Thank you, jack sock.
Thank you,
Looks like so much fun.
Damn.... Graff just got good genes!
Graf
Awesome!
I am glad there are newer sports coming out. Each and every sport has its own rules and skills required to be at the top. Great that youngsters get an opportunity to play something new. May help keep them off the streets. Regular pickleball equipment a lot cheaper than tennis equipment. I am 64 years young and went to an open day. Thoroughly enjoyed it. 😊 If people dont want to get their knickers in a knot about pickleball I have the answer. Don't watch and shut your mouth 😊
It's great to see how everyone's pickleball swing is a fundamental of their tennis swing.
Pickleball is like Disco. 🕺 💃 It'll be over inside of 2 years only to reinvent itself shortly thereafter as Yacht Rock. You'll all see.
It’s funny how their strokes are miniature versions of their tennis strokes.
I had a feeling that the pickleball haters would be in full force in this comment section! I just laugh at all the close minded haters hiding behind their computers. I absolutely love everything about pickleball: easy to learn, fun, super inexpensive, appeals to all ages, the intensity of firefights, all the various spins, the strategies, serves, and most of all, the ease of making relationships in today's isolated society. I now have a ton of new friends with more coming all the time. I feel sorry for you haters...The mind is like a parachute. It works best when open! Don't knock it till you try it!
You are so right mean ignorant no respect. I tell them come play bunch. Of PABs
Also: don't knock tennis 'til you try it!! It's the true original, this pickle crap (what's with the name, btw?) is just a cheap rip-off!!!!
@@brianf.8996 jealous sorry Pball is ten times more fun PERIOD..
@@carlrodrigues6919It's a lame fad that will (hopefully) fade away entirely by 2025!!
@@brianf.8996 - One of the inventors of Pickleball (Bill Bell) claimed that he had named the game because he enjoyed hitting the ball in a way that would put his opponent in a pickle. Also, you can’t win a game in Pickleball so you just trash-talk because you’re a loser. Good luck with that 🙄
Agassi looks fit again
Fun matches! I’d suggest though to turn off the closed captioning next time, audio is clear enough and CC is blocking the score and what’s going on at the bottom of the screen.
Omitting CC would not be inclusive of the deaf community! They should be able to enjoy and know what the commentators and players are saying too. Personally, it didn't bother me and I appreciate it being there for our deaf pickleball community.
@kainoareponte KZhead allows you to turn closed captions on.
I'm certain the Umpire missed at least two Jack Sock foot faults whilst waiting to jump on Macca. Bah!
Amazing how Sharapova isn't screaming her lungs out on every shot. Guess she doesn't need to after all. The other woman playing never did need to in order to dominate.
This is the Pickleball Slam 2. They did one a year before.
Steffi the GOAT of womens tennis❤
This looks like fun
So awesome seeing my favorite tennis pros playing pickleball. Hope to see Roger, Andy, Rafa et al. join them one day. Thanks for your channel, Austin. 👍
Hah, Rafa playing pickleball😂 That would be a sight to see😂
They still have the professional skills from tennis. All these legends are too good for pickleball however, they're fun to watch!
Does anyone recognize the paddle that Andrei was using?
Great play! Am I the only one who thinks the fellows keep poaching the girl's shots? Reckon that's why Sharapova and Blake lost! Though Sock did that with Steffi too! Fast game!
Wonder how a Borg/McEnroe match would go...
Well stats shows Graf had 900 singles victories but actually she had 902 wins & 115 loses. BTW Graf had more slam titles (22) than Sharapova's total weeks at no 1 (21 weeks).😂😂
Hi Raju, we see you trolling :D
Steffi is 888-107 win/loss. ITF tournaments and qualies usually are not counted.
@@carrerau7138but it count for every tennis player. In fact Graf won 900 matches had been mentioned many times.
@@rajusaha855 Then what is Steffi‘s win/loss stats of 1983 in your opinion?
@@rajusaha855 Look up Aryna Sabalenka‘s career stats for example. She played ITF tournaments as a 14/17-year-old until 2016. But her matches aren‘t counted in her career stats. That Steffi‘s 902-115 (or 900-115) has been repeated for decades doesn’t mean anything. It is the same with many websites forgetting Steffi’s FedCup win against Evert in 1987, resulting in an alleged 7-6 H2H (instead of 8-6). Believe me, I know more about Steffi‘s career than even Steffi herself. 😜
3:39 foot fault on left side? Or may someone explain that to me, new to pickleball
Is the complete match available to be watched online somewhere?
It's available on ESPN.
@@austingridleypickleball I looked and did not see it. Unless you mean it will eventually be rebroadcast. But that does not do me any good. If you could provide a link, I would be very grateful.

@@austingridleypickleball Sweet, thanks
If they can do something about the sound of the ball hitting, this [new] sport could easily spread fast worldwide as it looks quite fun and easy to learn - without the downfalls of body taxing in tennis. Without sorting out the sound it will forever remain a N.American concoction (still fun to watch though..).
Owl not happy about Mac broke their paddle. Hit and giggle. Was better than the grammys.
Blake is very good 👍
I did not see any Third Shot drop?
Where is the full match???
Espn
While it's slightly annoying to have to rip the tape off of my local Tennis Court, it's highly entertaining to see how many couch potatoes gravitate to this little game as a way to avoid running...but get injured anyway.
learn to play, it is less injuries then tennis, yet once you play well and have long rallies, it provides decent cardio. I am 67, play at a 4.5 level, and my resting HR has dropped about 8 BPM. (not sure why you enjoy folk getting injured)
@@davidanderson9074And he calls himself a nice guy…..interesting
And so much more enjoyable to play than tennis.
Kind of weird hearing people refer Steffi Graf as "Stefanie." I don't remember anyone calling her by that name when she was on the women's pro tour.
Sock picked a PPA event over this? 💸💸💸💸
pretty sure the paycheck was higher for this 🤑
He's poaching Graf a LOT.
I am not quite sure what you mean by "poaching" ....
The guys are ball hogs! Let the girls hit the ball James and Jack. They do have grand slams singles titles!
The ladies were doing just fine holding their own
This is a different game from tennis, especially the mixed doubles. In order to win, you have to let the male partner to touch the ball as much as possible unfortunately.
How come Sock doesn't get called for his foot faults? I'm confused.
John would have been the king of pickleball, had he started a bit earlier 💪
I guess I don’t get the game. Mac got dinged for foot fault twice, but the guy opposite him put his whole damn foot in there when he played the ball. Wtf?!
That bodycam has to go it’s shite - blaire pickle project
Sock is doing many foot faults but they only call on McEnroe
Padel is more fun where 4 players are involved, here 2 players can have conversation.
Baloney 😂
Pickleball!!! You cannot be serious!
OH yes you can!!!
As a heart attack
It's one of the best lines ever in tennis. Mack tops the charts for character.
Wow, looks like the same wiffleball I played with when I was eight.
Get your eyes checked 😊
Pb players will deny that for sure
That's not Maria Sharapova... where's the grunt??? 😁
Retired tennis greats is the only way pickle ball gets any attention. I have no problem with pickle ball. I do have a problem with pickle ball lines on my tennis courts. Build your own courts.
There are no highlights in pickleball
What😮
Yes there are. Every shot is a highlight according to the commentators 😆 pathetic
Anna leigh waters would beat all of these people in 1 on 1
Sock would kill her.
Not jack sock
Ha ha. She would get smoked in singles by Sock, Blake, and Agassi. What you been smoking? Any male pro would kick her butt in tennis. Even McEnroe would give her a run for her money. The best player in pickleball is Ben Johns Not even good enough to be a pro tennis player in singles. All those guys are or were world class tennis players. Singles pickleball is more like tennis.
Who??
True. Play both, Love Pickle ball, Love Tennis. Sorry tennis is so much Harder.
For all the "not a real sport" tennis trolls, these 4 tennis pros would lose on any major cities amateur challenge pickleball courts.
Think not play both sports. Have higher ranking in PB in 6 weeks vs Tennis 30 yrs
And a boxer could go to bareknuckle in 6 weeks and perform well. Your point? Its like a nfl player going to play rugby. Similar skillset.
It’s still not a sport. They would all lose at billiards, too, but that doesn’t make it a sport
“Still not a sport”, u said it right
@@y2jandy what is the point of trolling videos of a sport you don't play.
mixed doubles are usually boring to watch since u know the male players usually go for most of the balls
who is that grunting??? they are hitting a whiffle ball for goodness sakes!!!!!😂
Audio is terrible.
No wonder tennis players hate pickleball , they have no idea how to play!,
All anyone ever had to do is stop foot faulting. No sense getting upset at refs for it. Just don’t do it.
Pardon my language but id watched Steffi wash up after her dinner😅😅😅, the tennis world has been starved of this woman & her life experience as a tennis player. My dream is she does an in depth documentary of her career. But my theory is she won't because of the respect she has for Monica Seles & the tragedy the happened in Hamburg. Let me clear i am a Steffi fan 100%. But theirs no doubt that event changed tennus history. But as awful as it was for Monica, Steffi was deprived of the player i BELIEVE was destined to push her to even more greatness. Monica would have won at least a couple of those grand slams if she could have played. NO DOUBT Bur equally heartbreaking is its not STEFFIs fault that she couldn't. Monica fans refuse to allow for the FACT that Steffi could only play who turned up & it wasn't HER fault Monica couldn't. Surely ALL sekes/graf fans can agree that a joint GRAF/SELES documentary/interview of that horrible time would be EXTRAORDINARY.
I don't think Seles with her eating disorder problems and a dying father would have stopped a resurgent Steffi anyway.
graf is shining star. but shame adidas. why adidas let wear nike for steffi? she is adidas person and you you can!t even sponsor of her.
Hopefully that was only for this event. Maybe the tournament had a contract with Nike?
As a tennis player, I have to say that I hate the kitchen with a passion. How are you supposed to stop at a line on your follow-thru. It's in place for a good reason, but one toe on the line after a shot is not grounds for forfeiting a point.
it's just a different game. tennis is all about footwork but at the net, for PB, you move the torso. if you allow a toe, then eventually it's a foot, and so on and so forth. the line is drawn. glad you tried the sport out though.
Like any thing you adapt. I played hand ball ,badminton, racquet ball tennis and now for the last six years pickleball, it's addictive and out of all the sports using a paddle, racquet, ect pickleball is the most fun .Long crazy rallies mind blowing fire fights and you can play into your 80s.In fact playing pball is great for your cardio ,bones heart, and your brain .I consider it the fountain of youth..
The follow through at the kitchen line is arm only - and if you cantilever your body by bending knees (and basically sticking butt out) - it prevents you from falling into kitchen. Hope that makes sense.
In tennis, while serving if are toe touches the line it’s a fault
Yes, good point! But I've never had to run full speed up to the service line just as I was serving it. Also, if the motion of serving carries your over the service line after hitting the ball it is not a fault. You are not allowed to step on or over the line before your serve, but after you hit it it's fine. @@claytonchadwick2677
Reductive
What’s next? Old timers playing cornhole? It takes about as much skill and effort as PB.
Then go out and try it loser and see how much you lose 🤣
They need the money man
Agassi always greater than Mcenroe
pickniss :)
Did they tested sharapova for drugs?
Is this where old tennis players go to die?
it's where "old" rich tennis players are now investing in. Agassi invested into DUPR, and is part owner of Komodo Pickleball (paddles).
Exactly 😂😂😂😂
I’m enjoying this. Mac is still moving incredibly well. But the kitchen is the single dumbest rule I have encountered in any sport.
It has to be that way otherwise players can just smother the net and you’d have zero rallies.
@@kabob21 I get the logic. But the same argument can be made for tennis. I’m sure Agassi would’ve loved a kitchen rule against Sampras. Why can’t players lob?
@@ER1CwC No in tennis the court and net is a lot bigger and the ball is a lot faster, so you are going to get passed or hit a lot harder so it is not the same. Also lobbing is easier in tennis as you can get more spin on the ball and shots are not as flat.
@@sirbrad4 I see that. I think I just feel like it's a levelling-down sort of rule that hampers players who would otherwise be adept at charging and finishing points at the net. I cannot think of any comparable rule in any other racquet sport. It reminds me (ironically) of McEnroe's behaviour during the late 1990s and when big servers like Sampras and Krajicek emerged. Mac called for "something to be done" to slow down the game. Also reminds me of how Wimbledon added sand to its courts.
Yep, the kitchen is stupid. They could change the rule and allow volleying in the kitchen but the volley would have to go beyond the opponents kitchen line , or some other compromise, but if you reed the rule book(grotesquely dubious rules) and then see who is behind it you'll understand.
This is so sad! Pickleball is for senior citizens
that info is about 5 years old. In recent years, the avg age has dropped. #1 female is 17 and #1 male is 24. get with the times.
@@lichee12There's a perfectly good sport called "tennis" -- you might have heard of it?
This senior citizen would smoke you!
@@brianf.8996 They are orthogonal, do both or one, it is still a free nation, yes?
So ignorant 9😮
This only lessens the credibility of pickleball.
There’s no credibility to be lessened to begin with
Stupid name stupid game.
