@@MadhavSharma-xj5hi $3.20 for 15 mins of a drivers time, would be $12.80 per hour. That's below most states minimum wage, making it very easy to find a better paying job. Also this makes Uber's cut to the driver illegal in most states. Uber also lost a lawsuit in New York for wage theft specifically. Most jobs providing minimum wage are not doing any form of wage theft what so ever. You must never have drove for Uber or believe below minimum wage is a strong income.

@@MadhavSharma-xj5hi Literally? Wow smart. $200 day for a 12 hour shift is barely minimum wage. Now pay taxes, monthly car maintenance, insurance and any vehicle issues that come up throught out the year. They actually make about $120 a day now on average. Those drivers you speak to slave for uber to keep the profit. They dont even save 20k a year. They save next to nothing. Do you believe big corporations like uber or amazon can't afford to pay better and run less of a slave system?
How the hell are they not profitable despite all the fees and taking 30% from the restaurants and drivers???
did you watch the video. it was an operating profit. a net loss due to a markdown in equity stakes in other companies.

@@MadhavSharma-xj5hi on paper. in reality? its fake profit. they've found a way to engineer frequency etc through discounts but there is no real stickiness, loyalty nor retention.

@@SamraHussein-zz8tu nobody is forcing you to drive for Uber. The way to make them pay drivers more is to stop driving Uber. If enough people do that, they will raise driver pay until people stop leaving. It's called the labor "market" for a reason!

Competition is heating up, Uber is not a complex business to create. Look up HOVR
Check what your final price is compared to if you went to the place yourself and bought it, even with the 40% off
@@brendanconners867 Actually I do the math - the cost works out less than eating in person: aka uber pays the merchant in full whilst taking on a loss. aka negative margin. On top of that, I frequently request refunds taking my order total down to a discount of 70-75%. And yes I do this intentionally: i hate uber, but I am willing to game the system for my benefit. This is what the Uber CEO doesnt understand: the users are not loyal, we care about price. Uber should not exist as a business- the fundamentals are all wrong. On top of that it is a net negative for social/human capital. I am effectively 'shorting' the company by taking advantage of its self-serving notion of giving out free money.

I wish he put drivers in his shoes and treats like humans with bills to pay and families to take care. They pay for their gas, insurance, put their time in and use their own cars, pay for their own maintenance and uber takes half if not of the total fee paid by the rider. I find him very immoral he only cares about the growth and i get it he needs to make money for the investors and he has to find way to make it, but not poor drivers on the road risking their life.

We're missing hearing about their freight numbers. Uber Freight had a 16% revenue decrease in 2023. Freight is an economic bell weather.
