That’s a surprise. I feel we get pikachu and the like almost all the time, let alone Pokémon likes mixing booster packs in some products, which I like. I’m gonna wait for the cool back to school stuff in July, yay gengar eraser, and that’s a gen 1 Pokémon too, while paying $10, less than 2 of these 151 packs,

The artworks for the special illustrations is amazing
I’ve had pretty good luck with 151 and still am most familiar with those original 151 Pokémon. After opening a box of Brilliant Haze today, I think that Twilight Masquerade has a chance to be an extremely popular set depending on pull rates and which cards are included. I pulled the Eevee full art which is a beautiful card. So many Eevees.
I have loved that my 5 year old has used this set as his entry into Pokémon; It means this Pokédad doesn’t need to learn all the “new” Pokémon names and can just be nostalgic with the OG characters that I grew up with.
This is one of my favorite sets ever!
The poliwhirl art card is super underrated, it’s my favorite from the whole set
That was my first hit. It was out of a booster bundle. I wish they did more arts for each Pokemon
poliwhirl is great, but the dragonair full art puts me straight into Gen 2's dragons den, fishing for dratini.

This set brought me back to the TCG after 25 years and brings me back to base set days. Was never able to collect those in its entirety but trying to get the master for 151.

This set was super popular at Easter this year with the kids. And the parents were thrilled to see the kids open cards they opened when they were kids.
This is by far my favorite modern set. I love and grew up with the (now) vintage stuff and this set brings it all back.

Hello! I just started collecting this set with my kids last week. This is the first time I’ve collected in years. Such a cool way to bond with my kids that also gives me a blast of nostalgia. I purchased a top loader friendly binder and have enjoyed opening a couple of the promo sets with the kids. The goal is to complete the set and they will have the binder as a memento of a fun time/project they had with their dad. We are newer subscribers to the channel and have been enjoying the content! Keep it up.

My partner recently introduced me to the fine art of pokemon card collecting at 23 years old. These pulls perfectly represent my experience with 151. Was super nostalgic for me to open the set and I've spent more $ opening packs on this set than any other. I'm not even close to completing it. I've started buying singles to help with the cost. Can't wait until i finish it someday.

Did you rip packs and pull them all…or did you buy individuals to fill in the set? I’m always curious how many packs it would take to complete a set. I know I would never have enough money to burn through that many packs.
@dwhirsh82 I bought packs until I had about 80% filled. Then I bought the singles I was missing. Trying to complete through just opening is crazy expensive lol.

@shiny_samson4684 I don't remember how much it cost me, but it definitely helped that I was lucky enough to pull the Charizard SIR instead of having to buy it.
@@Sargentopia right! I opened two mini booster bundles. Pulled the Charizard and Caterpie in the first. Second bundle I got the bulbasaur Ninetales EX 186 and zapdos SIR. I have three more bundles but my luck can’t possibly get any better so they are going to sit as investments.

The pull rate in 151 sucks and I’m kinda glad they are saying the English set won’t be reprinted it’s so hard to find in stores!! This is a great hobby I have with my kids and my 7 year old has almost every card just missing the charizard ex and ivysaur full art

That's what I'm saying. Everything is sold out 24/7 and when I do find it, it's sport stores with super inflated prices. I saw a pack for 7-10 dollars last week.

On another note. If you like the artwork of 151. The JP booster boxes are becoming significantly cheaper than they were these past months because of the reprint. Take this info however you will. Edit: Boxes were $200, now are ~$60. Get them while they're cheap

Who doesn't love this set?! Haha! It can be extremely brutal at times (like we all just witnessed here) but it just makes pulling the bangers feel that much more rewarding. This set is so popular, I don't think the currently happening and supposedly massive Japanese restock is going to make a dent in anything. It will get gobbled up and those who miss out (me, haha) will wish they hadn't.
Considerably new to the hobby. Start it around Christmas season back in December 2023. Was pull in to this great hobby by the 151 set as it is basically just such pure nostalgic, giving the reminiscence of the Kanto era, the Pokémon era I grew up with. And now I’m trying to relive my childhood dream to catch them all through this 151 set!

Such a solid set. Value on the cards, with Charizard being an exception to the rule, will most like just stay stagnant for many years though. 151 brought so many people back into collecting, and the cards are so plentiful, I just don't see people seeking out this set in the future because most people who want the cards already have them.
Your channel has made me appreciate the different Pokémon sets more. I am strictly a 150 (now 151) card collector or none at all. My wallet can't handle my desire to "catch 'em all." Thank you for letting us live vicariously through you. I hope I win the 151 bundle. If not, I will still be an avid viewer of your channel.
Yeahh I open 1 booster bundle and got the caterpie special art, venusaur soecial art, bills transfer, and the gold mew. Even tho prices are up on the bundles still well worth. My favorite modern set for sure.

151 is definitely my favorite Scarlet Violet set. Just the nostalgia of gen 1, with all of the cool art rares. I'm getting very close to completing the master set. Just need like 20 or so cards left. :)
I’m still not done with the Master Set but I only need about 30 cards. It’s really such a hit of nostalgia and a beautiful set! I’m actually hoping to get some sets like that every now and then! If they do the same for Gen 2 I’m gonna lose my mind

Btw I just opened a 151 upcoming 1 minute ago and got an error fighting type holo energy. Can't find any images about it😅 the @2023 part is cut from the half and there is another half of the same part from a different card at the top. Weird. Probs a new one❤ also got the blastoise ex(200/165) and the wartortle, mew ex full art, the normal blastoise ex, kangaskan and arbok ex and the promos are SUPER. As mew is my fav pokemon, and the upcoming was my dream box, IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!❤❤❤❤
I feel on the last 151 restock Pokemon lowered the hit rate. I recently opened 4 booster bundles and got 0 pulls. It's definitely harder now. Great video as always.
Bad luck aside, 151 is genuinely a great set. Being able to open pack after pack and recognizing every single pokemon inside is rare for me nowadays... I'm a little behind with the newest releases in terms of games. So getting a throwback set every now and then is a breath of fresh air!

I'm new to collecting after over 15 years , being a 90s kid I grew up with OG 151 so this set is brilliant. I just have a question, what do you do with all your spares/duplicates?, also when you get the really rare ones is it worth soft sleeving them then put them in a hard sleeve for extra protection?, only asking as I've had the gold switch card, and a few illustration rares from my last few hits.

I bought one of each item in this set and opened them up when they released, I even bought a second premium box for my daughter. For Christmas my parents bought me 3 packs and put in a stocking for me, sadly I didn’t have Christmas still Jan 19th as my dad fell ill Christmas Day while working his night shift. He was fine going to work, and his organs shut down while he was at work and they did not send him home. By the time he got off in the morning and my mom bought him to the hospital it was too late. The hospital managed to keep him alive in a coma till January 17th. When we opened the gifts on the 19th, when I opened the 3 packs, the third pack was that rarest Charizard. Makes me wonder if my dad was looking down when I pulled it. He was only 59, weeks away from 60, and he has his third grandchild who he will never meet who was born 22 hours before he passed. If anyone’s wondering how a healthy person like him passed, he lost his immune system 2 years prior after getting the so called no side effect jab.
I bought my first boaster in 18 years yesterday because I saw that set and nostalgia hit me! Ended up getting Charizard full art, the rarest card in the set 😂 Life is funny
