Growing this Melon on the terrace, picking to tired hand
Growing this mini orange-fleshed melon, although small, but martial, both sweet and tired, let's join Home & Garden to try planting!

    • @@funwithfish1507 If the hull of the seed is compromised, small, or deformed, it probably won't sprout. Make sure they stay moist enough to soften and break the hard shell. I have saved many seedlings from being shell stuck. I've even seen seedlings of honeydew regrow roots after being broken at the base while still partially in the shell. Some varieties take longer to sprout than others.

    • Pretty easy once you can get familiar with a coarse sand/coconut coir/soil blend, although I'm curious what the top covering is, some kind of pulverized rock?

    • put a half lb of red wigglers in each pot and you wouldn't have to get rid of any melon. It was already a lot of food in that pot. them worms would've supercharged that pot. Still a good video.

      @miketj26@miketj262 жыл бұрын
    • @@miketj26 Does that really work? I've heard stories about earth worms and their magic in the garden but I don't know how that works.

      @TSD0416@TSD04162 жыл бұрын
    • @@miketj26 The earth worms wouldn't survive in the pots unless you fed them kitchen craps for them to eat during the composition process and they would climb out in search of food.. Worms like lkitch produse scraps like lettuce and fruit and they need a few coffee grounds. They eat coffee grounds to use to help break up the food and help grind as it passes through them. The coffee also adds nitrogen into the soil but go light as it will change the soil PH. If you don't feed the worms they will leave. Now the problem with this is it also draws insects to the pot like fungus gnats that look like fruit flies and they,lay their eggs in the soil and in there larvae state they feed on tiny tender roots so it"s better just to create a separate worm composting bed then remove their casting to top dress with it as you see being done in the pots with the bat guano.
