I'm 56 yrs old and lost my husband of 36 yrs in 2016. I was so lonesome I took in 3 cats that I love dearly. They are my companions and such a joy to me. They helped me to laugh again.

When
My girl had a litter of five kittens. And when they finally were able to eat, we used a large dinner plate. The first instinct of kittens is to fight for food. Growling and threatening each other. But we would monitor the feeding time and quickly correct the kittens with a parental "No". "Share, this is the family plate". Soon they learned to quiet down and all of them learned to peacefully eat together including their Mom and Dad. 8 Cats fed from one large plate as a close family. They can be taught to respect each other.
Why in the world would they let their cats fight over food..?? 1 BOWL EACH..! 😻
I think they are doing that just for the video. They can't be that stupid. It is really funny though. I haven't watched the whole thing yet. so maybe I won't think its so funny at the end
I didn't think it was funny from the beginning. I hate videos where humans make fun of cats for their own amusement. That's why I stopped watching after three incidents.

Ok no I finished watching it and the last one just made the rest look like abuse. If these people only did it for the secs of the video then it wouldn't be a big deal but the last one was fucking obvious that those fucked owners feed all their cats and the kittens like that. and they don't take the cats to a vet obviously because that isn't a purebred kitten. Just an irresponsible owner that lets its cat get knocked up twice or more a year and gives the kittens to anyone that shows up. like...unliked
My cat is the opposite of this: she wants me to go with her when she wants to eat, and while she's eating, she looks at me kinda like "Want some? It's delicious!".
i doubt very much you physically assault her while she is eating, which is what the human in this vid was doing to the kitten.

Hey that's true, my friend's cat is so well pampered that each time he wants to eat she has to accompany him, if she walks away the cat will stop eating, run to her and start meowing loudly, as if to say "come back here, I cannot eat alone".

Let's not pretend cats are innocent little gods. They can be quite monstrous, and they are mammals, no better or worse than humans. They have their own culture and their own sin, true, but they are not angels.

Kittens aren't toys. They really need a bowl each and shouldn't be teased at feeding time as this can make them spiteful towards each other and humans. If a young child copies human bad behaviour and gets scratched, the kitten will often be destroyed because it's got a 'bad temperament'.

My cats just pull the food to them selves back and forth. So cute. They have all been taught to get along and love one another as much as is possible with their individual personalities. Just give them all lots of loving attention together as much as possible. Let them be them selves.
Cats deserve their own separate plate and should be allowed to eat w/o being provoked.

Indeed, plus, how would you react if someone kept poking you or trying to pull away your plate while you're eating? I would most certainly punch said person in the face. And even if a little competition between pets is fine, there is no point in instigating fights.

they say for every 2 cats 1 litter box for every 2 cats 1 bowl for food water bowl can be just one huge pan or bowl they do not tend to fight around that

Kind of funny, some clips. But, poking kittens while they try to eat is just mean. And putting one bowl of food down for 2 cats that are growling (the last video) is just provoking a fight for a silly video. How does your stomach feel while eating under stress? I think these cruel and abusive people should pass the time pulling the wings off of flies instead. 😞

I had a precious cat named Cuddles ,aka, Putter Tatters, every morning our kitchen floor would be wet. She dragged the water bowl around so our precious dog wouln't get it. How I miss them both.🐱🐱🐶🐶💝💝

A lot of this is far from funny. You shd never interfere with feeding animals - its not right. lts also very unkind to give 2 cats a dish with only room for one to feed - just so you can photo it. How would you like it - having your dinner plate pulled away every time you go to take a bite

I know this is basically harmless but it sort of annoys me. feed multiple cats with a big a enough dish with all their heads to fit or better yet multiple dishes and don't bother a cat when he or she is eating. how the hell would you like that.

Our demon kitty broke that same feeder open about 4 months into using it... It's amazing how industrious kitties can be when there's food involved. Her new robot feeder is a lot more sturdy, but she's still been trying for about a year to crack it open.

I remember when my cats where kittens, one of them would push or dunk his brother into the bowl we gave him. they each have one to eat from but it's realy cute and funny how one of them wants to eat from the other bowl and so the other gets mad so he pushes him or slaps him or dunks his face in there. typical brothers.

please will someone explain to me what is funny? the cats in these videos are being either overtly or passively abused, and their reaction is a natural one of self defense and provoked aggressiveness, and they are not happy. I don't get why this is cute, please tell me? And why don't these pairs of cats have two bowls? It's such a simple business, cats are naturally extremely cordial to each other and very hierarchically oriented. what is funny or amusing about disrupting their collegiality and sociality? Also please explain to me why it is cute to physically assault a kitten while it is trying to eat? (consider the size of the kitten compared to your finger, if this seems an exaggeration. This would be like someone poking you with a battering rod in the ribs while you try to eat. I wish that would happen on youtube so we can laugh at you. the anger this raises in me is suprising. I guess the producers of these videos have never been bullied, or beaten as children. I would like to know how you think, what makes you find this satisfying and amusing.
Helen Lauer I can understand what you mean, I agree that it's really not funny how people poked that little kitten while eating. It's not right, to disturb cats while they are eating, because this is their comfort-zone. But in the other videos with the two cats fighting over their food, most of the times there was a second bowl in the background which was already empty eaten. So I assume, that the other cat already ate his food and tried to "steal" also the food of his buddy. A friend of mine had three cats, and one of them was such a "foodie" that he did the same thing, and my friend had to watch very closely that the rest of the cats got their food too. Because this cat always ate very fast his own food and then went to the other bowls and tried to steal the rest of the food. :-P

Anita, I have to disagree with you. I agree completely with Helen, as you can see in the comment which I wrote 3 days ago. It is not acceptable to tease cats just to make humans laugh. But I should add that I also hate the Candid Camera type of videos (I haven't seen any recently, thank goodness) where they play tricks on humans, just to laugh at them. Cats, if you get to know them, all have different personalities just like humans. I know it may sound strange but I think one should respect each cat (and other animals) just as we humans want to be respected.

Some siamese i had used to grunt at lunch time but forcing them to be together solved the problem. Our tabby cats nowadays usually don't fight but the male eats firts and puts a paw over the food to let clear the female that he has privileges. Once he leaves she waites almost a minute watching him go over the distance and then she eats. A lion in a small body, such a miserable cat! :)

Cute kittens grow into cats which are often less cute. Adopting a cat is a life-long committment that involves vet bills, making arrangements for the cats if you want to go on vacations and so on. Then there is the possibility of clawed furniture and sometimes clawed humans. I share my home with three cats, one pictured here, so I know what I am talking about. I love them dearly but cats are not toys to be discarded when you get tired of them or when they are no longer cute kittens.

It's not funny. If any of my cats would do that it would be corrected immediately. I rescue and have been in shelters have seen this type of problem. This leads to future problems if not corrected early. Usually if the mom is around she corrects it by a tap on the head..

Some of these videos should be classified as animal cruelty. Teasing these animals while they eat is just adding extra stress that isn't needed, just like the ones that have 1 bowl for 2 cats. I didn't laugh at any of these.

Baby Ranger that's not true at all. I have dozens of cats in my life and not once did we have to "teach them" how to share. They just shared. We had bowls all over the place lying around. We would go through 20 wet cans a day and a bag of dry food a week and never had any problems with them. Just make sure they all have their own dish and they should be fine.
I don't think this is funny. Too much human involvement. Why would people bother their pets while they are trying to eat and film them? And who ever heard of pets sharing the same feeding bowl? I had cats and they never acted like this. Did the people who filmed purposely not feed them before rolling the camera? Dislike!

Bonnie, I agree. I love cats and I love to watch videos of cats playing or romping . One of the ones I liked the best was when the owners took pictures of the kittens from the time they were born and followed through every week or two. However, teasing cats for the sake of making humans laugh is beyond the pale. But then what can we expect of humans. They are cruel to other humans, too, in a way that cats never are.

Our ability to learn to share as humans is truly a blessing... I tell you, sometimes it's hilarious to explain that I NEED to sit at my computer to make that extra buck because it allows me to BUY food or whatever! Some people, of course, don't know how to share properly and we have to better get on by ourselves and share with those who share with us as times go by! "Good Times, Bad Times" by Led Zeppelin comes to mind... But, I must say, I'm glad for the laugh today! Thanks so much for sharing! Awesome! :-}

I thought this would be funny but it is just the opposite. Why would you play with your cat or dog while they are eating? That is just stupid. And to have only one bowl for multiple cats is ignorant. Do you have one plate of food for all family members? Of course not. No, this video isn't funny. It is sad that people do this just to make a video.
This was not a funny video. Disturbing cats while they're eating just to get a "funny" reaction out of them is not funny. Cats react that way because they are feeling threatened and if it happens often enough, it could make them more food aggressive and more nervous while eating. Cats are nervous eaters to begin with; it's a part of their survival instinct. Disturbing a cat while it's eating can cause unnecessary anxiety and stress to some cats. It may even cause them to be wary of eating for awhile. I hope that most people are more sensitive to their kitties needs. Please don't bother them when they are eating. Cats don't think it's funny either.

stray cats recently adopted may fight aggressively for food because they got used to the lack of food. My lifelong indoor cats never fight for food, cause they did not know a real hunger ever.

I had had cats for more than 40 years. this IS cute and very typical for them to do. my I have 4 bowls for 3 cats and they still push each other out of the way. this a great video with many cat lovers. this is what makes them so popular and great to have as friends/pets.
