I love the concise timeline. Very well done.
Thanks for the in-depth review! Hope your channel gets bigger and you review more hardware. Going to look at your VR reviews now!
Very nice informative revirew, the only one I've seen so far that demonstated the base and its connection to the desktop.
Man, this is a extremely HIGH quality video! I wonder why it didn't get more views :/ Congrats fot the video!
Thanks bud, glad you found it useful 👍
Great review, mines on its way home with the quadrant and im super excited!!!I love your desk setup btw ;) i got the similar setup for the monitors and keyboard. Just need them 3 VRs lol
Great review hoping to get one soon 👍
New to flight simulator controls and was looking for a flight yoke. Thought the 180* Rotation actually meant 180* on each side. Never the less, amazing review and product.
Another high quality review, great job! I like your VR content best, but you made this interesting.
Glad you enjoyed it - plenty more VR content in the works
Great video. What are you using for rudder peddles?
Thank you for review
Thank you for the well done review. It was very informative and helpful, glad my yoke is in the mail.
Most welcome, glad you found it useful
It literally looks so cheap and brittle. Looks like and old Fisher Price toy.
The setup at 07:09 is exactly how I have mine except that I have the Saitek Cessna yoke which does have full 180° movement but is getting a bit too long in the tooth now. I bungy cord modified it a few years ago and that's great but I'm having to clean the tracks on the potentiometers more and more and despite the smoothness of the yoke action the actual control is becoming somewhat erratic. I ordered my Alpha today and thanks to the wonders of that well-known webtailer, I'll be getting it tomorrow. I suppose I'll have to dig around in the loft for the Cessna yoke box now!
Most underrated channel!
Awwww - much appreciated
i agree with your corsair gear 👍
I got the logi yoke. It felt super cheap and the deflection was annoying on it. So I go this today so thanks for the thorough review!
Are there buttons on the yoke handles to use the rudder without the rudder pedals ?
@@richardmorgan3184yes, if you configure it properly
If you see this note... can someone tell me if you must have the dual mounting solution or is there a way to mount the alpha and bravo to desk without this and the clamps. They appear to be sold out. TIA.
Go Big Red! Nice shirt :D
Hello… nice review as usually. Do you have any idea when will it be available for Xbox? Best regards…
Hello, is it possible to combine the Yoke of Honeycomb with the Logitech Throttle Quadrant ?
hello super video can you tell me where I can get the other modules you show? Many Thanks Mike
Wow! First video with no dislikes that I have seen in my life, this guy must make good videos! 1+ like and subscriber!
Hi what type of computer would I need? What processor, memory or graphics required? Could you recommend a computer from Amazon that already meets those parameters
Very thank

I was shopping for a yoke right at the beginning of the pandemic or actually like two months before. The honeycomb was just about to release and I was thinking it was worth the extra cash over the logitech. But it was just no way to get it. The logitech had a estimated delivery time of around five month and the honeycomb was like ”maybe a year or more”... So basically I went with logitech just to have something at all. :) Now it is harder to motivate an upgrade. I still want the honeycomb but I mean, the logitech still works. Maybe it could have some kind of unfortunate ”accident”... :)
Nice part about living 10 minutes from a Micro Center. Just went in the store and got it
@@Awsome17203 You are so lucky to be so near a Micro Center! I'm an hour away from one so I do envy you.
Just order this along side a bravo throttle quadrant to replace my Logitech yoke and throttle I really can't wait to get it
How would you see the button on the yoke when you're wearing a headset...
I did my flight training in a Cessna 152 and have flown a 172, 182 and a Caravan. The yoke feels very similar to a Cessna yoke.
I bought a second hand Alfa yoke but the RJ45s connector was missing. Can I simply use an ordinary PC Ethernet with 2 RJ45s? I don’t have a warranty anyway. If not what is the wiring for this please. I can make it myself. I can’t anything on the internet. Thank you.
I sent my Alpha and Bravo back. I decided to use a CH Eclipse simple yoke and VR headset so as to access the cockpit AP systems. The problem with using a hardware quadrant is it is always a compromise. Better to use the real controls of each aircraft that are in the cockpit.
How did you get a Nebraska shirt?
That play on the yoke is very troubling, it will only get worse? Is there too much clearance in the bushes or bearinbs? I wouldn't buy this item if it wobbles about like demonstrated?
Great review thanks. Does this yoke overcome the stickiness of the Logitech G Pro Flight Yoke when pitching through the centre point
Yes it’s very smooth through the centre point
@@VirtualRealityPilot Many thanks
Great review but does it have the ability to stead the aircraft without pedals or do I have to buy pedals for it?
it most likely doesnt, I dont think any yokes do
Man .. my dream sim dash is like .. a lot of money T.T I really like those radio peripherals.
i had Logitech for onw day and did not impress me at all .I purchased on the next day this honeycomb and it s no comparation ! it s absolutely brilliant . i returned the Logitech on the next day
Hi can we use it on XBox series X ? What about the throttle module as well ? The Logitech is not supported on Microsoft flight simulator on Xbox series X as far as I know … Can you please help … Thank you
There is a new version coming soon for the X-box. This one does not work with x-box. Bummer.
I have the ch product yoke that i found for $6 used..and it is really good with built in power , propeller and mixtures, gear and flapsand lot of buttons. I bought the ch pro pedals which are very good. The bravo throttle quadrant seems very tempting and really pro. I would buy that before buying the alpha yoke, as it guve multi prop engine and boeing throttle, as well as autopilot and lot of buttons configurable, gears and flaps and especially a trim which would make more easy to manipulate inside the cockpit in vr.
Aaaah, the 8 way has "warthog throttle syndrome". Always weird when the difference between premium in price is a couple of bucks for a component like that. Probably even cheaper for a manufacturer.
I'm pretty sold on this yoke, as it seem of high quality.
Really wish someone would do a 6dof space yoke.
i think the deflection and delay turn has been happens in almost all yokes, i still stick with CH yoke cheap and the best as far as concern, i would not recommend saitek yoke real thing does not center itself !
The Honeycomb yoke is defiantly the best yoke around but at $450 + another $400+ for the throttle controls here in Aus is a bit too much for a casual flight sim gamer like me so I mite just go for the Logitech Pro for $230 instead
Which is still an excellent yoke, I did a review of that also and am planning to do a comparison video of the two. Either way it’s a lot better than a keyboard or controller.
Premium feeling?? I mean the Honeycomb feels better than the Logitech for sure but it is still cheap plastic. It feels to me like the sort of plastic that is going to get sticky and soft in a couple of years personally. I also hate the mounting solution for the Honeycomb. The rear screw down holders just never seem to get decent friction and always seems like they are loose no matte how much I turn them.
can you use it on xbox
Bought the Logitech and used it once, definitely found myself over controlling due to it only have 45 degrees of travel left and right, going to sell it and buy a honeycomb
How did you hook up the throttle to the yolk?
Logitech throttle honeycomb yolk
It connects via a separate USB port
Yoke, 30 series gpu cards...why's its availability an issue?
global chip shortage
Great video. I have a technical question for you: if I buy a Honeycomb Alpha, could I plug a Logitech Throttle Quadrant in some way to a PC? I know there is impossible to connect to the Honeycomb, and the Honeycomb Bravo is too much expensive for me. Thank you in advance
Yes, if you buy a Logitech throttle quadrant you can plug this into a USB port. However, the throttle quadrant that comes with the Logitech yoke is different from the standalone Logitech throttle quadrant and HAS to plug into the Logitech yoke. So if you have the standalone throttle quadrant from Logitech you’ll be fine 👍
Many are charging $349 or more at least in the U.S. The cheapest I found was $279.
Thankfully they're back down to their intended $250 price this year. It looks like a wonderful yoke for the price.
how does rudder work with these yokes?
Needs pedals. And to be fair, other yokes need pedals too
While the 180 degrees of rotation is nice, the elevator throw is much too short in realistic terms and is also way too stiff compared to any real aircraft I've ever flown. The stiffness may have been put there to lessen over controlling the elevator due to the very short throw. I always used to wonder why aircraft manufacturers typically put the ignition switch on the left hand side of the yoke unlike cars. Once I tried to use it, I got the answer. You operate the throttle at the same time you turn the ignition switch!!! Having to reach across the yoke with the left hand is more than awkward, but I guess Honeycomb is as clueless about this issue as I was.
That makes so much sense
I still think the magnetos should have been placed on the left side? it would be much more realistic.
Does anyone know if this yoke and throttle quad. will be compatible with XSX?
WHat is XSX, sorry i dont know
@@harrisonknight2562 Xbox series x
Nice video..What would you recommend for foot controls? Need to be xbox series x compatible
hey. if u can get the thrustmaster boeing, the yoke has rudders just like the rt and lt on the controller. but if you want foot, get logitec rudders.
I'm leaning towards selling my Honeycomb Alpha and buying an x-box S. The new Honeycomb yoke and throttle will work with X-Box.
they will indeed as well as their Charlie rudder peddles when they get released
I have an Xbox series X and I am curious about this yoke. I cannot find any article saying this yoke will support console. Where can I find something supporting this information?
The current alpha flight controls do not work on Xbox. The new one which releases first quarter 2022 will work for Xbox though.
@@joescivic thank you so much for replying back and giving me some information.
@@brianmatthews9420 No problem. I have been waiting on this yoke and throttle for the Series X as well, so that's how I know.
Why nobody has created some Yoke that simulate the wind force hover the wings on the controls.. :(
I believe there are couple of products that provide force feedback, Yoko yoke and the Brunner.
Is this yoke compatible with Xbox seriesX?
No but they are going to release an updated version which will be
Do you live in Nebraska?
Not with that accent, I’m from the UK 🇬🇧
I subbed to this guy for just 2 days, and i have one simple question. Why is he so underrated :(
Hey! I have a question. I am getting a yoke later and was wondering what kind of Yoke I should get? I have a price range of around 300 dollars, I am fine if it goes up to $350-200 though. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could get back to me soon! Thanks!
This is a decent Cessna yoke for people who enjoy trying out the wonderful C172. This is an appropriate aircraft to start out in for real pilots and simulation. I fly the Zibo 737 in XPlane 11. It’s a fine simulator with a fully functioning cockpit and programmable FMC. I find the honeycomb yoke badly lacking for this type of sim, both in pitch and roll. I plan to switch to the Boeing yoke in March when the yoke can be purchased separately from the throttles. The Boeing yoke won’t be perfect either, simulations never are, but I’m hopeful it will be better for a jet transport than the honeycomb
The honeycomb is great yoke and if you're flying GA aircraft and are only going to have one yoke, even if you fly airliners then this is the way to go. I did a review of the Boeing yoke which you should check out - kzhead.info/sun/g5SJidejhHuroH0/bejne.html
@@VirtualRealityPilot is the honeycomb good enough for flying airliners
November 2021. $409.99 on Amazon
I wanted this but that price is ridiculous. Logitech got my money in the end. One third the price of this and it included a throttle.
A couple of months ago I bought the logitech Yoke and Throttle for £55 from amazon warehouse (30% discount promotion on top of standard discount for being a "Like new" product) . I did find it to be a big improvement to using a joystick and it certainly increased the immersion. However both the yoke and throttle unit feel like a toy, and the pitch axis on the yoke just didn't seem very smooth to me. So, I bought the Honeycomb Alpha Yoke and Bravo Throttle Quadrant for £450. That's about 8x more expensive! Is it worth that premium? I'd say that depends on what you want. In terms of value for money, no. Logitech wins. But the feeling of quality of the honeycomb products is, to me, worth it. It feels less like I'm using a toy, and more like I'm flying a real plane.
Does this work on a xbox x too?
No but they have a revised model coming out soon which will
@@VirtualRealityPilot Thanks for the answer, but im afraid you have the wrong information :-( Ive send a email to them too and today the answer came. "No, we are sorry but we dont have any plans in the coming future to marked one made for the xbox" :-( And their biggest competitor ( Turtle beach ) now made known that also their version isnt coming to the marked in this year AND, raise their price already even before the damn thing was on the marked :-(
They just announced an x-box revision at an expo in the states - fselite.net/news/honeycomb-aeronautical-reveals-new-controls-xbox-support-and-more/
@@VirtualRealityPilot Oh man, doesnt that make you feel completley helpless, as a customer? The SAME company that told ME " NO " :-D Even the dealers here dont know anymore! "The only thing we hear is a new delivery date, no details, no answers to our questions".....Well atleast something is right :-) everybody is talking about is but NO ONE can buy anything :-D
Update this with 2 mag switches, forcefeedback and progressive servoes for pitch/roll in reference to speed, and ill gladly pay £500 for this.. until that happens, ill keep my logitech "toy" yoke
Hey man in real life airplane you use only left side of Yoke with one hand, and not two :)
I saw some use two hand too.
the elevator springs are VERY strong. It takes too much force to be comfortable one handed. I am looking into modding mine to ease it

After spending some time using my friend's Honeycomb, my opinion of it is that it's a very nicely built piece of junk. How ever well it might be built, it does nothing that that adds any utility or realism to flight simulation and is far less pleasant to use than my 10+ year old CH Products Yoke. My friend doesn't seem to be very thrilled with it either since he's in the process of selling it.
You don’t fly with two hands.. 🤨
