Thanks for sharing this video. I am looking to see what places in Tokyo would be ideal to explore both the touristy parts and locally. I am also interested exploring the rural areas, and was wondering if Ueno would be a good place to stay my time there, or look elsewhere. Any advice or tips I would appreciate it!
thank you for this! We are planning a trip to Japan this Summer!
Great vlog Meg very informative thanks😂🎉❤
Thank you for the very useful information that you've shared. 😺
Mahalo - very helpful
Thank you for a good video, Meg. 😊❤
Thank you, Meg-san, for these tips on where to stay in Tokyo!
Your welcome 🤗
Thanks for the information. 😊
My pleasure!
great info thx!
Your welcome!
Konnichiwa! Thanks for making this video. I will def ask Meg to be a tour guide esp for the best yakitori and shopping experience in Tokyo!
Thanks from UK for lots of useful information 😊
Thank you 🇬🇧
very informative.. i like your channel… thanks👏👏👏
Thank you!!!
I am going to Tokyo by the end of january. That will be my first time going there. Thanks for this fresh updated information.
Absolutely! Have a wonderful trip :)
You saved my life. I almost messed up forgetting about a travel visa 😅
Komagome is underrated because its not touristy and the station has both access to yamanote line and subway.
For a business trip in 2019, I stayed at Hotel Ryumeikan, near Tokyo station. It was very nice! It was stylish, and at that time the amenities included complimentary use of a travel smartphone. I'm not sure if they still do that, but it was a great way to reduce my own cell phone data usage when using Google Maps!
Oh you had a great time near Tokyo station!
Good job
Thanks
Hi Meg! Just found your channel, perfect timing bc I’m planing a trip to Japan Next March! How do I get more information about your private tours?
I was in Japan for 10 days 1 week ago and i was staying next to minami-senju station very cheap and quiet but sill nice hub to go around town
How much and name of 🏨?
Oh this is so helpful im traveling to Tokyo, osaka and kyoto in March! Once I have my itinerary organized I will contact you, would love to have a tour guide in Tokyo since this is my first trip and solo 😅
Me too! Just booked my flight! Cant wait to see the sakura 🌸
Thank you! Waiting for your request :)
Me too. Just book flight for mid of March and having solo trip hahaha!
I think as long as you have access to the Yamanote line, you have many options for a pleasant stay. Last July I stayed in a place in Kamata and it was nice to stay in a different part of Tokyo. It was only 30 mins from Disneyland with one transfer.
I would put Shinagawa first for sleeping. The Shinagawa Prince Hotel is not so expensive, and so convenient to the station. From there is is easy to connect to the other areas mentioned.
i think this is i will choice I'm going to cancel my booking at haneda hotel airport i think shinagawa is more easy for me to communte since I have a 15 months old with me
Aloha Meg, Love the information and the links. How about a a fugu place?
Aloha! What do you mean by a fugu place?
@@MegLog_JAPAN Pufferfish sashimi
@@jojosmith1097 I know that but I'm a little confused what your question is. Do you want to know a place to eat a fugu?
@@MegLog_JAPAN Yes please. I'd like to see which place (if any) you would recommend. Thank you.
Arigato Meg! This is so helpful!! Would you be available as a Tokyo tour guide for us in early June?
We are party of 4 will be in Tokyo in mid March of 2024. I already had 2 days itinerary planned. Would love to have a tour guide in Tokyo on March 15 & March 16. Hope to hear back from you soon.
Hi thanks for asking! I'm not doing touring. Sorry about that!
@@MegLog_JAPAN Thanks. 🥲-
I restarted the tour guide if you are still required :)
The b ginza hotel is good for family with kid
Hi,just want to ask if only staying for 5 days in Tokyo and this is our first time which area is the best?thanks
おはようございます Meg-san, I am visiting Tokyo in March 21 please let me know which day you’re available for a tour between 22 to25. ありがとうございます
Thank you! Please reach out to me from the link 🔗 linktr.ee/meglogtokyo
Just a note: Narita is not “just outside” Tokyo. It’s over an hour away.
Yeah, it's quite far from Tokyo than we think :(
If we want to visit Mt. Fuji, disneyland, Ōsaka, Kyoto, Tokyo, Kyoto, what district should we visit first in December? If we catch limousine bus from the airport, are these buses stop nearby hotels? Thank you.
The limousine bus stops in shinjuku station, since your going all the way to hiroshima your better off getting the jr pass unlimited to go from tokyo to kyoto and the rest. The train to mt fuji is long regardless so a tour might be better they usually start in shinjuku as well.
Meg, does the Suica card cover ALL train lines and subway lines in metropolitan Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto?
The short answer is no
Thank you!
Yeah, Suica covers most of the lines, otherwise you need to buy a paper ticket.
I land in Japan on Thursday and am staying in the APA hotel in Shinjuku! This will be the first time for me in Japan so I am very excited. Thanks for the informative video 😃
Thanks 😊
Hey , I'm looking for a 1 room bed room apartment to rent there . I'm coming for my internship here at Tokyo edition so I need the apartment for minimum 6months . Can you help me with that I'm not aware of the area , is it possible to have a good rental apartment over there?
Thoughts on Roppongi?
Roppongi is also a nice place but not top 5 for my perspective.
On my way to Los Angeles on October 1, 2024, we will visit Japan for 3 nights, please give your personal suggestion for hotels & places to visit. I am 71 years old & my wife 70. Thanks.
This video will help you where to stay in Tokyo but I think near Tokyo station or Kyobashi station is better to stay around. kzhead.info/sun/kq5uadVvaKtpknA/bejne.htmlfeature=shared
been to japan 6 times since 2019. stayed at shin-okubo area and tokyo station vicinity before. i still prefer tokyo as it has access to many trains and regional buses to places like kawaguchiko and easy to get to yokohama. shinjuku hotel prices are more expensive compared to those around tokyo station. these 2 places are the best in terms of transportation options. ueno should be only considered if the hotels in shinuku or tokyo stations are out of your budget. i would not even bother with shibuya as i find the hotel prices here the most expensive of the 5 places mentioned in this video.
Oh wow! That's quite a few times. Tokyo station is a good choice.
Are the hotels strict with the number of people that stays in the room? I booked a room for two with two full beds. After booking the room a family member decided to come with us on the trip, can we just let her stay with us without letting the desk know that we now have 3 people in the room?
It's pretty much strict with the number of people. You gotta check the front desk.
Can you be my tour guide for 9 days?
How much are the tours of Tokyo?
Email me plz shokochan373@gmail.com
Traveling for the 1st time in Japan with two kids. Is Shinjuku a good choice? :)
Ahhhh I think Shinjuku is not your option if you come with your 2 children. Prob Ueno or Tokyo station is much better...
Shinjuku is actual a huge area so you don't have to stay right in the center of action or "red light" district. Consider the area between Shinjuku and Shibuya. And we tend to stay away from the mega hotels like Hyatt, Prince, Gracery, you name it.
Where is some nice place to stay outside the Tokyo area. I am planning to rent a car so I don't mind staying a little far.
How about Hakone? It’s recommended if you are into onsen.
@MegLog_JAPAN dint look into that but I found a good hotel in Saitama. The rooms are quit bigger and free parking was a plus 😅
@@21td51 Saitama is cheaper than Japan!
@MegLog_JAPAN yes the price was much cheaper compared to Tokyo. 👌🙏

Shinagawa Prince hotel is in a good location across from the Station. Lobby is large and impressive in both wings, however the rooms are not very nice, they are worn and not vey clean. We visited Oct 2023. We are returning in Nov 2024. We will not be staying at Shingawa Prince.
I've stayed at Shinagawa Prince before. I'm pretty sure it depends on the rooms!
Hi, can you be my tour guide?
Depends on your request! Please email me. shokochan373@gmail.com
Nice and informative! Perhaps you are not aware, but APA hotels are owned by unrepentant Ultra-right Nationalists and are major financial backers of Yasakuni Jinja where war criminals are "honored". It is probably better not to recommend them regardless of price and location.
Yes, that's true. But still it doesn't matter! That hotel itself is nice.
It does matter. Denying a war crime instead owning up to it is unacceptable, 10 million people died. I did unknowingly stayed one in Ginza. I was sick to my stomach when my colleague told me about it.
@@yenphung8809 Well said!
