150mm longer than its katanaboy 500 predecessor, it allowed me to cut a 2 foot wide (24 inches) with relative ease. This thing is the ultimate long term survival saw bar none. Watch me cut a 2 foot log with the silky Katanaboy! I believe that it is the ultimate prepper/ and long term survival saw a fine blend of portability and power. If I had a best of gear list, this would be in the top 3.

  • Just ordered one from you. Thanks for the discount code as well. Looking forward to using it. Should make a lot of the low dead branches reachable that were out of working range before. Have been using an 18” Corona saw for years to great effect. This seems to be a monster folding version of that, with a straighter profile. Should pack about the same, as mine is a fixed blade with a large D shaped handle (great for 2 handed operation). I am not retiring the corona, will just use it for smaller work in camp.

    @1979Spica@1979Spica3 жыл бұрын
    • Over a year later, this saw is incredible every time. I have felled trees and bucked wood with ease. My buddy can not wait for his turn to cut. Makes wood work a joy rather than a chore. If you think of all the wood you can gather with ease, then compare the cost of so many bags of wood, this saw will pay for itself by comparison in no time. I find it best to buck the tree right away rather than carry long logs back to camp. Reason being that the teeth pull aggressively on the workpiece. A lot of stabilization is required, so use the weight of the tree to help stabilize it rather than trying to have your buddy hold it still. It will pull hard on the wood. I can gather all those low dead branches that nobody else can get to. Lots of fatwood to be found there.

  • Thanks, Wow that looked real easy. I had a Defibrillator/Pacemaker installed last year and then told I couldn't use a Chainsaw any more, and wouldn't you know it just 3 months later I have 2 trees that need angled trunk limbs cut down. Quotes to do the work for me $NZ1000+. Luckily these are sold here in NZ but a wee bit pricey (as most things are here) at $310NZ, at 67 I think I should still be able to manage it. I have some Japanese Pull Saws for woodworking and was amazed how precise and easy they were to use.

  • Excellent Video, Tremendous saw, the debate between power tools vs manual tools in a SHTF scenario, especially if one heads to the bushwhack, power tools require usually more tools for repairs and maintenance than the tool heads on a multitools, which are excellent. Many of today' s chainsaws have fuel injectors which a novice in small engine repair may have trouble cleaning and repairing. The Katanboy appears to have few moving parts probably, a spring release system, which means less possible to go wrong. I went this way not to buy a generator since it requires fuel to run. I purchased very cheap a true goose feather comfort with a small stain extremely cheap. Love Freedom Live for Freedom God Bless

  • do u think really old oak or locust will dull it fast cause that locust is like cutting railroad tracks.lol i filled up my ford escort wagon all the time cuttin 4 foot locust 12 to 13 inch with a basic 30 inch bow saw and it would wipe me out use to go campin and burn like 8 4 or 5 locust logs all blue flames

  • That is indeed an impressive saw. Now if it just wasn't so expensive. If I could talk someone into donating one of these saws for me to review I would jump on it pronto. I have two broken down chainsaws at the moment and that is why you seen me hand sawing the logs for my last video.

    • +Joe Bill. Yes I did. If you happened to have watched my video, you probably could tell that I am also extremely pleased that I did end up with one. They are an awesome saw. A few weeks ago I had been going out through the woods on my snowmachine while trying to put in a trail to cut and haul firewood for our remote cabin. Well I accidently found a tree stump under the snow with my ski and I was stuck. Out came the Katanaboy and I cut the stump off and I was on my way again. The saw easily got me out of a bad situation there.

  • Well after watching your video I was so impressed with this product I finally purchased one! I can't wait, though I'm pretty sure you make it look easy. I wasn't sure if I should purchase a backup blade right away. I waited but I'd like to know your opinion after using it a few times how you think it held up.We cut alot of wood now, I have to have it 80 or above. This saw seems to be the best choice to have for a backup incase our chainsaws were to break down. If you see this message and get a chance to respond we would appreciate your opinion on how you think the blade held up and if it's one you think would last awhile? If it does hold up good I'd probably be better off spending an extra $100 and getting a 2nd saw so we both had one than just the blade. Thanks for the great videos and all the good info you get out there like this. I would have never known about this product.
