Landeskog talks to Troubs after that hit. I think he’s saying that it’s a good hit but he has to stand up for one of the biggest stars in the league. Personally, I have no issue with guys trying to fight a player who has laid a big hit. A big hit grabs momentum and a fight can neutralize that. However, if a teammate is stepping Up for their teammate by fighting, they should receive the instigator penalty.

They were all clean hits on the shoulder or chest. Players have to learn to keep their heads up. None of them were so vulnerable that they couldn't be hit. And as for challenging Trouba, good luck with that. Many have tried.

First thing you learn is to keep your head up. Why are people always mad at Trouba when he catches a guy with his head down? If your head is physically down he can not avoid his shoulder catching it when he hits the chest
Keep your head up. The league has gotten soft, these were all legit hits and I get so annoyed that every time he makes a good hit the other team feels like they need to drop the mits. Hitting should be a large part of a defensman's game.

These headshots have no more place in hockey, we know too much about brain damage to have the excuse of "he had his head down" to be valid anymore. I like physical hits just as much as the next guy but every single one of these hits are dangerous headshots and clearly fall under rule 48.

That ultra-fine distinction hasn't done a very good job of protecting anyone from harm for a while now. Perhaps it's time to adjust the rule book again. (Not a Penguins fan, by the way. Just a hockey fan 😁)
It absolutely was the principal point of contact in most of these. The issue is he does keep his elbow tucked on all but one of them. That's the language in the rule that has to change, you can do some really fucked up things to someone with your shoulder tucked.
