One day I said to myself, “self, why do you put your bathmat horizontally when you step out of the shower you walk forward, not to the side?” 😂 and ever since, I put our bath mat in the direction we walk. GAME changer
Genius! Never thought of it. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing with us.😊❤
Good tips😊
You and your family have a blessed and safe rest of your life.🙏🏾💖💐🌈🌅❤
Okay… I was today years old. ❤❤🎉
I use the Grabber to get clothes out of the back of my dryer! Saves my back!
What a great idea! Thank you. ❤
I use a snake hook along with a grabber.
I use mine to get clothes out of my washer! I have short arms and can’t reach down into my large capacity drum.
Buy rose water at a Middle Eastern store. Cheaper. I use it in my steam iron. Makes the clothes smell so good.
Another helpful tip when doing the floors is to sit in your computer desk chair with wheels on it. This really helps people who can't get around much, have trouble walking or standing, have a bad back or just have mobility issues. You can get around the entire room without standing up! You can sweep, mop or even vacuum. It can take a little longer but it allows you to do it and that's what counts!😉 Thanks for sharing all your wonderful tips and hacks with us;😍
Thank you for that tip! I have a bad back and bad knee so I use a short stool on wheels for the baseboards but the computer chair will allow me to do so much more. Thank you for sharing!
So glad, hope this really helps!😘
Love this idea!
Omg why did I never think of this. 🤦♀️ such a good idea!! I have an autoimmune disorder that limits everything I can do. Cleaning the floors is one thing I just can never do enough. I will definitely have to try it with a rolling chair. Thank u !
Thank you for considering others needs. I am crying. Between the fibromyalgia pain and abdominal injury (disable Veteran) this has been a rough week. I just sat down to take a break from just tidying. It's so comforting to know I can clean without causing more pain or exhaustion. Oh and I ONLY buy sunglasses at the Dollar Store! 10:58 Well I am off to finish so i can sit and finish crocheting my Garndies blanket. Big Hugs & Continued Blessings ❤
Thank you for your service.
In a fibromyalgia flare right now for 3 weeks with company coming tomorrow. Cleaning has been a nightmare
I have a number of health issues most being autoimmune but have to say the fibromyalgia is the worst/most painful. Have a heart issue too. Cleaning is so difficult, others(healthy people) just don’t understand. Thank you for your service. Prayers to you for a better week.
@@RC-kv9rj I feel you. The pain on this flare up is the worse it's ever been. Doc upped my meds. Not sure why this one is different. Take a deep breath and just do what you can
I can not walk because i have crippling bone on bone on both knees. 😢 the surgeon said i must be a certain BMI to avoid infection. Ive lost 64 pounds since January and i am so afraid my knees are going to break and there will be nothing to build from. I have to walk to the bathroom because my electric wheelchair doesnt fit in my little apartment. 40 is the BMI i am at 39 and no one will help me. Ive gone to 4 surgeons im at my wits end. 😢
I love your video about Dollar Tree. The frustrating part is showing things that are usually impossible to find at my Dollar Trees. There have been several items you show that I've been able to find at the store(s) near me, i.e. the acrylic lazy Suzy, the silicone spoon holder. I have been to several and they act like they don't even know they exist. You must have the best Dollar Tree store ever.
I use the grippers to get clothing out of my washer and dryer.
I have folliculitus which is the follicle of the hair has been damaged. I got on an antibiotic. It cleared me up. I had it on my face, chest & back. So, after the clear up, my Mom told me to get some Selsom Blue shampoo. I got the medicated one. Oh my heavens ppl. My itchy skin stopped. I use it to shampoo my hair, leave it in, apply it on a shower brush & use it ONLY on my arms, neck, chest & back. Then I use regular body wash on the rest of my body. It is a miracle!! No more itchy skin!! I've had itchy skin my whole life. I use to jump out of the shower & ask my Mom to scratch my back.. i thought i was allergic to water lol. Anyway, wanted to share this becuz it HELPS!! 🙏❤️⚘️
I'm so glad your mom recommended something that ultimately helped your skin! That's great!
I watch your KZhead for the info but more importantly to hear you remind me 'You are enough'
Got the mobility issues covered. Now I need ideas to beat the mental issues that get in the way of cleaning lol 🙃
I hear you, sis :)
Self care this week: I joined a walking group that’s meeting for 8 weeks once per week and a meditation group once a week 🙏😄
I love this ❤
I love watching all your cleaning hacks since I am disabled and dependent on my walker and oxygen but love a clean house. Really had to come to peace 🕊️ with some of my OCD issues and rely on help from others. Thanks for sharing and reminding me that anything I accomplish safely is enough!! God Bless You and your family 🕊️🙏❤️😊
I struggle with several chronic health issues. I'm trying to keep up at home and also help my aging parents. I clean for them as well, so these tips and tricks are always appreciated!! I remember the first time I saw the video on cleaning your shower and tub with a mop and thinking...why haven't I thought of that before?! Lol. I'm happy that's included here. :) Great video!
I have a stone mat under my dish drier rack It's awesome!
I Have 2 of the stone mats on both sides of my kitchen sink. I have hand soap & dish liq on 1 side, & scrub brush in a dish on the other side. NO MORE MESS! I got sick of cleaning up water on my counters after I used the soap.
Use glass containers and write on the glass with permeant marker (baking soda as soft scrub to remove marker) or use painters tape if you want it on the lid (lots of uses for the painters tape). Good old fashion cloth diapers for cleaning/dusting cloth. Also wash clothes (yes! some of us still use them) bath towels, flour sack towels, etc., all these are good for assorted cleaning or dusting. I am an older who is on a budget and growing up I watched my mom and grandma use what they had. Crayons sometimes used on glass containers and pens on the tape. For myself it just makes more sense. Recycle glass jars to store anything from food to nuts & bolts. I do enjoy watching your videos and for many I am sure they take you up on your ideas. I watch because your just a breath of excited fresh air. You keep up the joy and have a great day :)
My husband uses the grabber tool outside while mowing to pick up sticks and pine cones
I learned from a dance studio. They have very expensive costumes made of delicate fabrics. After a performance, the director/owner hand cleans each costume with white vinegar. I just used this to clean deoderant stains off a black formal. It works great!
This is my favorite video of yours to date! I just loved the whole video! But, it was the couple of sentences at the end that got me. I was recently diagnosed with complex PTSD. Those closing sentences really touched me. Loving yourself is so important. Some of us forget to do that, or don't know how to do that. Thank you for being you!
I love rose water and dried roses! I’m Greek American and rose water is used to make much of our sweets. I use it to make ice cream with whipping cream, canned condensed sweetened milk and vanilla extract. Drizzle with chocolate syrup and you have the most amazing Rose 🌹 flavored ice cream. ❤
Where do you get roses that haven't been sprayed with insecticides?
I have wanted a red light face mask for a long time, but hesitated due to the cost. THANK YOU for showing us the dupe. I can now get one and not feel guilty!
I just love how positive you are. I loved sharing your videos with my sister before she passed, now I share them with her daughter.
Even better than dissolvable labels...wet-erase markers!
That's what I use too
waxonwax Hi are you talking about wipe off board markers? Thanks 😃
@@1othrocks Mine are wet erase chalk markers. They don't wipe off with just anything. You have to use a wet cloth or wash the item you wrote on to remove the ink.
I was going to say the same comment. The wet-erase markers work fantastic because when you rinse off the lid you rinse off the information. The only time I have an issue is if my finger(s) are wet and I touch that part of the lid but then you just wash it off.😊
Googled “wet erase marker”. Widely available like at Target, Walmart etc… going to use these. Thanks for the tip
I have a velvet bench ottoman that is gorgeous but I have 4 cats who shed A LOT. the lint rollers weren't doing anything but I discovered if you take a dryer sheet(I use bounce) and rub it along the fabric, the hair comes right up. Bonus, it smells great!!
Thanks l like the grabber with rag for dusting baseboards.
For self care for me this week, I had surgery a week ago today I had to get 2 cysts removed and a partial hysterectomy I have been so upset over it but now that I am slowly recovering from it I am going to have a day out with my best friend on Saturday and just enjoy my time bc lately I have been so emotional and I just want a good fun night out and to dress up and feel pretty while taken it easy! These tips and tricks yuh shared are very useful I want to even get a handmade vacuum I keep telling myself I need one!
Sending you healing, restful prayers!
@@DoItOnaDime thank you so much! It truly means a lot! 💜
One of my favorites has to be Your Channel and the dissolvable Labels . ❤
Hi I use the Norvell self tanner & have never gone back!!! I hate self tanner smell and the orange coloring. You do not get any of that. Thank you for being so honest & friendly on all your helpful videos. You never change and you make me laugh. All good things!! Have a great week.😊
Thank you so much for the cleaning tips for those of us who are limited in mobility. It's so upsetting to realize an area that I can't reach has gotten dirty and someone visited before I could get someone else to do it for me. My vision has gone through the wringer this past year too, so I miss a lot of dirt and dust bunnies before I realize it's even there
♥ Glad you're here, thanks for watching!
The stone mat is a game changer. Love it!!!! ❤
I cut/tear off a piece of masking tape to label and date my fridge leftover items.
Same
Same
I actually use scotch tape and write on it with a sharpie. So easy to get off.
Painter’s tape is good too. Sticks well, but peels off easily.
Me, too. Well, I actually use 3M freezer tape so it can be used in the freezer, too. I fold over one end to make peeling it off easy.
The reach grabber might help me collect all of my ferret’s stash of toys under my furniture 😂
Lol
@@Jennifer-bs6oy 😊
Lol it does I have 10 ferrets I have to pick up all the toys a couple times of the day I just seen that. You have a channel of your own so I ascribed to your channel so I will be on there. I'm under DIY Donna.
We bought the Rain Shower and we ALL LOVE IT!! so easy to install too!! God bless you!!!
Love the ideas of making things easier when you clean! Saves on my back ! 😊❤
I use dollar tree paint brushes to clean artificial plants and also knickknacks that are hard to dust
And the vents in your car
and does great job on lamp shades!
Make sure the sunglasses you drive with have polycarbonate lenses. Airbags deploy at 200+ miles per hour & can shatter regular ones causing injury or blindness.
Thank you so much I appreciate ❤😊
Thanks I love the grabber I use it everyday! Picking up pine cones in your backyard it worked great for me
You are absolutely amazing! Thank you!
You still look like you're 16!!! What a beautiful and sweet lady!! Thank you for everything that you share!! Please don't stop doing what you're doing!! You've got a beautiful family!! 💐🌈🎉😍😀😘🕊
❤❤❤
Great ideas!!! I’ve had extensive back surgery and bad knees. Thank you!❤️❤️❤️
I look forward to Tuesdays because of you. Your energy really helps. I am physically challenged and your vision today gave me some great ideas. Than you, thank you. Loved the end with (I guessing) your husband.😂🌹
You are so beautiful !!!! I love all the items you show for your home and pass it on to us. I love your ideals. ❤❤
This video makes me feel so understood! Thank you, Kathryn!! 😂❤🙏🏻✨🙌🏻
God bless you, Kathryn. You are such a joy. Thank you for your excellent tips.
We loved watching Legends of the Hidden Temple! Great memories!
Love those food labels! They are great for when you store things in mason jars.
Peach slices toner is a spot on dupe for the Paula’s choice, and it cost around 13.00 or less.
Does it have fragrance?
@@creatiVeronica fragrance free
Thank you for the limited mobility tips. It is so hard to clean when you can't do things like kneeling or lifting.
I am in love with Goodr glasses. They have so many colorful, unique and wild styles
I actually made a stone mat with DT items a few years ago. I love it! Outdoor rubber mat, black river rock and the large tube of adhesive glue. Takes a while to make but so worth it! Blessings!
Great idea! Love that!!!
Love all your tips and inspiration!!
I had back surgery last year. Had to use the grabber for cleaning. I decided to keep doing that. My husband has many battery powered tools. He bought a vacuum that uses the same battery. It's wonderful to get that out for small jobs and behind furniture.
Thank you for addressing ppl with mobility issues❤
Katherine, if you boil the water before freezing it, then the ice will be clear - no cloudiness. Pretty pretty!
I use dry erase or chalk markers to label stuff in the fridge.
Loved this video thank you Catherine!! I’m recovering from a double mastectomy and this video made me so happy 🎉❤❤
These 1:08 are also AMAZING if you put a cloth around each of the claws and use it to dust your blinds. One claw on top, one on bottom, close the grabber and slide it along the blind. Works like a charm!
Great idea!
The "grabbers" are great. I have one in the garage, in the kitchen, and in the bedroom. They have come in handy so many times.
Thank you for making this!! Super helpful for those of us less abled! I would love to see how you organize craft rooms - that’s my biggest organization stumble!
I saw the rain shower head on a different episode and I got one. My husband and I LOVE IT!! It was so easy to install and comes with plenty of plumbers tape. Thanks for recommending! 🤗💕
Omgosh that Legends of the Hidden Temple reference! I'm the same age as you and I instantly was thrust back in time to my childhood living room watching Nickelodeon with my little brother. (All That and Roundhouse too!) Thank you for that memory! Also love the Dollar Tree round ice cube molds and the actual content of the video ;) but rose water is really strong, is a huge ball of it not overwhelming? Orange blossom water is a thing too, you should try the frozen orange rosettes with orange blossom water!!
Great video! I love the way you end your videos with a positive message that I am enough. Thank you, I needed to hear that today.❤
Thanks Kathryn for all this great advice. ❤
You are my favorite! I love your energy and the way you lift others up! Thank you so much for all that you do to make this world a much better place!
The ending is absolutely wholesome
I LOVE my stone mat! By far the best accessory for my bathroom.
You're awesome Katherine! Thanks so much for your thoughtful, kind and inspiring ideas and product information. 😉👍❤
I use baby wipes and disinfectant to make my own disinfectant wipes that I store in the disinfectant canister. More economical and I like the baby wipes better for cleaning.
Try to look for bamboo wipes. Otherwise, those baby wipes are made of plastic, so unfortunately every one contributes to microplastic in the environment. There are a couple of brands made of bamboo or tencel. Tencel is a wood fibre.
I love the idea using the mop I use a soft room on my shower walls. I think it would be great to use on the windows with the microfiber cloth. Grabber is great idea. My favorites and baby wipes.
I use baby wipes all the time for wipe ups in the kitchen and bathroom counters. If I need to wipe up a small spot on the floor I use them. Great tips from you!
The mobility aids are great for folks who are unable to bend or reach. For folks who still can, remember our bodies are a use it or lose it system! If it's a little achy to reach (I'm not referring to folks with serious injuries), that could be a sign to do some stretching or other exercises. Please don't quit bending because it's uncomfortable. Because eventually you won't be able to bend. 😢
Love love love you and your videos! Been watching for years. Love from your home state 🧤 ❤
Love it❤️
We replaced all of the carpet with wood floors. Ever since, our small dog has taken to peeing on the shower rug in the winter when she is too cold to go outside. I think that stone mat just might be the answer.
My cat did that when I bought a new kind of litterbox! What is it about the shower mat? Out of all the mats in the house why the shower mat and not the doormat?
Loved this video! Thank you for sharing some of your holy grails that are more affordable! ❤
I love Charlie's comments at the end! Copper!
I always look forward to your videos. You're the best researcher for us all. Thank you always for sharing❤
Was literally yelling "Goodr" when you were introducing your sunglasses problem, but before you had said "Goodr" hahah. Good recommendation!
Hah! They're great!!!
I love Paula’s Choice BHA toner and also the AHA toner.
Great dupes & recommendations. A friendly reminder in all anti aging products don’t forget the neck & chest AND back of hands! We have all seen that woman with beautiful smooth face and her hands look 100.
This comment needs to be at the top!! Starts with sunscreen when we're young. Right down to your shirt neckline!!
Love your videos and your ideas. The dissolvable labels I’m really happy to see. I shop auctions and I hate to remove those labels. Then I realize I put labels on yard sale items when I have yard sales. So to help other people not experience what I have, I’m going to start using disposable labels on my items!
Great idea!
Yay, just ordered the Red light face mask, can't wait to try it.
Disposable labels...yes! Restaurants sometimes use something similar, so they are very helpful...and they do actually dissolve, LOL! It's kinda fun!
I use them all the time and love them
Thanks so much for the red light therapy dupe. I'm going to get that one when it goes on sale. I trust your opinions.
If you're going to add rose petals to your beverages, make sure you are using roses that have not been sprayed with insecticides. Most roses in flower shops have been, and those chemicals are not something you want to add to people's beverages
Thank you for these tips
I ran over here so fast I got whiplash. I'm just kidding. I love every Do It On A Dime video. I've been watching her for over 7 years. She shares a lot of great items, hacks, DIYs, and more.
Me, too 🎉
Hello! I ordered the light therapy face mask. I suffer from horrible cystic acne. Antibiotics help greatly but I've been on so many over the years that I am now allergic to most of them. This causes a big problem when I get sick, which is often, unfortunately. I try so hard to take care of my skin. I've been wanting to purchase one of these masks but they are all so expensive! I'm so glad that you tried it out and shared your recommendations. I'm excited about this and I hope and pray that it helps me. I'm a big fan of yours! You are such a lovely, positive person! We need more people in this world just like you! thank you! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Legends of the hidden temple! 😂😂😂 that's a funny thought! Never would've thought of that! Only 39? I didn't realize we were close in age! How cool is that? I love how you end all your videos!! So positive! Keep being amazing! ❤
Needed this today!!! Lost a bit of myself through motherhood and slowly learning how to take care of me again ❤
Thanks for the tip about nose pores
Greetings and Salutations Katherine from Chicago!!!❤❤❤😊😊EXCELLENT VIDEO AS ALWAYS!🤗I was also feeling a Hanibal Lechter, " Silence of the Lambs" vibe with the LASER MASK....😂😂😂😂😂😂You and your Hubby are a HOOT!
Love,love love your ideas!
Hey girl. Great video. Gotta get stone mat. Tired of washing mats. I get sunglasses at DT. Got stylish pair for $1.25. 😊🕶😎
I've started skin care. I always wash & moisturize my face & skin, but I'm now using all of the extra facial skin care things.😊 When using the red light mask, do we use it before or after our everyday & night exfoliating & facial skin care? As always, Jennifer, thank you for sharing all of your videos! They are amazing and I appreciate you.❤ Stay safe, healthy, and positive! God bless you and your family!🙏❤️🇺🇸😊
From what I've read, use it with nothing on your skin. And most instructions say to use it every day. But each mask is a different "strength" so they'll come with instructions for how long to use them. From 3 to 10 minutes. Some come with a neck attachment.
@@MyFocusVaries Thank you 😊
Thanks Kathryn, you are awesome and give me so many good ideas. I appreciate you and think you would be cool to just be around. 😊 Keep it up! 👍🏼
I always put a tbsp of carpet fresh in my vacuum so every time I use it it smells wonderful. Also, when changing your bed sheets, put your favorite scented fabric softener sheets in the pillow case and smell them for days.
I LOVE that Shark hand held vacuum! Super strong suction… I use it in my car also
I use a sun/rain hat with a wind strap attached to block the blinding sunlight. It folds flat and still fits great.
No way!! Legends of the hidden temple! My mom used to make fun of way the lady said purple. 🤣 she’d always say “Purrrrrple” haha man…I was like 7 then lol
