The Maono PD200X is a budget-friendly dynamic USB & XLR microphone with some basic software processing. Both outputs can be used at the same time, and the general sound over USB in the basic "original" setting is quite usable.

  • What do you think of the PD200X compared to the competition for dual USB/XLR mics?

    • Maono pd200x or maono 903 which one is better both are at same price in India around 45/50 dollars..

  • What a scare I took when testing the MV7! =) Impressive for the price it costs. It must be recognized that manufacturers of cheap microphones have been trying hard and evolving the quality (at least the audio) of their microphones over the years. I've been working with audio for almost 30 years. When I started, I couldn't even dream of having such satisfactory quality for such a low price. Today with a smartphone + laptop + a microphone like this and a little knowledge and that's it, you can already get a great quality recording. Thanks. Excellent review as always.

    • Thanks! I agree, getting a baseline of quality sound is getting cheaper and cheaper!

  • What's beneficial about owning a sound mixer is you can actually bring up the highs and the mids as I did with mine. I liked the factory set (if you will) low end because I have a deep voice, so definitely a big "+" for me. Thanks for the revue. Well done.

  • Hi bro, I am considering buying Maono PD200X or Tonor TD510. The prices of the two are about the same. Have you done any reviews on these two? Can you provide any advice?

  • Hi, if you were to choose between maono pd200x and fifine k688, which one do you think is better when it comes to picking up the bass? Been trying to look for a cheap mic thats better in picking up bass, something that would be able to deliver a sound quality coming from singers with deep voice like michael buble and frank sinatra.

  • Thanks for sharing man. Does this need any extra drivers or components to use on the likes of the Mac mini M2 pro?

    @honorthedead@honorthedead2 күн бұрын
    • It will work plug & play on a mac with no dedicated drivers. The maono link software lets you customize the sound a bit, bit it's not required to use the mic.

  • @semiprotech I hear a lot of hum in the background. Is that from the mic or your settings?

    @empire1281@empire12817 ай бұрын
    • That's actually A/C hum, a lot comes from my monitors but I also have a transformer on a pole not far away from my window (third floor). Unfortunately the mic doesn't have a humbucking coil to reduce that, and lots of dynamic mics around the $100 price point also do not. Several otherwise good mics (the Rode PodMic, sE V7, etc.) all pick up that hum in my space. If I apply mild noise reduction in post it becomes unnoticeable, but if I get close to my computer monitors it really gets loud. So far only mics that have a humbucking coil like the SM7B and RE20 don't have that noticeable hum for me.

  • I'm looking for a USB mic for a noisy environment and I have these options: 1. MAONO DGM20 2. MAONO DGM30 3. MAONO PD100U 4. MAONO PD200X Which one should I go for? Note: I'll only use the mic rarely and only for chatting with friends and for work, that's it.

  • I've read that if you're looking for a microphone that doesn't pick up keyboard noise, you should use a dynamic microphone instead of a condenser microphone. But here you can hear the clacking on the table? Does that speak against the quality of the microphone or is it the same with all microphones?

    @timobllscn3954@timobllscn395415 күн бұрын
    • Dynamic mics are less sensitive than condenser mics so they won't pick up as much ambient sound from the room, but they still are going to pick up sounds that are nearby. The only way to eliminate background noise is with noise reduction DSP. Where you'll hear more of a difference is with quieter, farther away sounds. Like if you had an appliance running in another room while recording, you'd probably hear it when using a condenser mic unless your room is really well sound-treated. A dynamic mic won't pick up much of a sound that far away due to the lower sensitivity. But with nearby sounds, there won't be much of a difference.

    • @@semiprotech Many thanks for your assessment! Then I'd better concentrate on which dynamic microphone I like best in terms of sound
