NPR used to be one of my favorite radio stations to listen to for the interesting reporting they used to do. But ever since the last elections they started reporting more and more on biased political topics which led me to eventually turning my back on them. I am just glad I never made a donation to them now.

Most Hispanics do not know what is going on. It is past criminal to move Hispanic Families into Communities and lie on Hispanics to do this Administration dirty deeds. Congress needs to enforce transparency immediately. Law Enforcement, the Prosecutors, and Court Staff are the ones promoting this violence in Alameda County. Law Enforcement just illegally arrested Me and helped a Hispanic Manager in Hayward, CA. file documents very late in 2023. The documents was to be filed in 2022 by the Sergeant Schrock order when the rent was current. It is perjury and fraud to file like Someone owe rent when rent is current. It is fraud to state Someone stays somewhere where I stayed alone. Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price needs to enforce the law and restore my life. The Courts has not won. I have won and provided more than enough proof in my cases. This Administration cannot advise Law Enforcement, the Prosecutors, and Courts to put Hispanics in front of Anyone and not be removed from office. These are childish, and troubled troublemakers who need to be held liable for their ignorance for using other Races instead of enforcing the law. No forgiveness.

I used to listen to NPR In the 90s but started to notice that republican points of view were being ignored more and more. Listeners with a centrist or right leaning opinion would be cut short when calling in. The same issue plagues the BBC in England.

I use to donate to MPR because I like classical music. Not anymore, all because of NPR - they just finished their Spring fundraiser. They lost me forever.

When a NPR reporter says, Republican, they sound like they are about to throw up.
I call BS. I listen to NPR and they do not emote in that way when they say "Republican". They also have Republicans on and let them say their piece. You guys are so used to Sean Hannity barking over people when they speak an opposing viewpoint that you do not know when you are getting unbiased news. NPR has unbiased news. They should cut back on a few of their "shows" and have more news. But what they should never, ever, do is start spouting Russian disinformation and QAnon propaganda.

As was said in this, government funded news should be ballanced and without biases. If that can't be done anymore, then defund it.

I have been calling my NPR radio call in show for sometime. And almost EVERY time I was called screened out. I have sat on call hold of 1 hour every time. Even if there are NO other caller to the call in show.

I admit, I'd listen to public broadcasting several hours a day if it wouldn't 💩 talk half the country all day and constantly suck up to leftist politicians constantly. I used to many, many years. Now, I only tune in on Sunday for music. Of I could just hear the who, what, when, how that would be extremely valuable.

NPR, PBS, CFPB all made sense before people had access to the internet - especially in rural areas. They are no longer necessary and, yes, have deteriorated in their content. Years back they would have panel discussions on The Newshour and terrific shows that presented ALL points of view.
Its possible before the internet, we just didn't have access to any alternative information unless the government "leaked" it... intentionally or not.
As the great Bob Dylan once sang, "You don't need a weatherman to tell you which way the wind blows". The same applies to news, keep it simple and straight and let people decide for themselves. It would be news as a public service, not the biased bullshit in an attempt to be persuasive.

If you’re spending my tax dollars on anything, anything thing, and the words “it’s only 5 million dollars” comes out of your mouth; you need to be removed from public office immediately. That’s more than a life time of taxes and it’s NEVER an “only.”

Way back when there were just three networks and a couple of locals supporting PBS/NPR made sense, but that is no longer the case. Locally we have nearly FIFTY broadcast TV stations and uncountable radio, plus my TV has another thousand or so stations that come across the internet. None of those get any government tax money, DEFUND NPR,

Pull the public funding period! Mandate that every station pay into a fund for the government to air every single legislation session and every supreme court session - without input from others. Make it transparent across the board.
I will not donate one red cent to public broadcasting, including npr. Angers me that I can’t do anything about my tax dollars going there.

NewsNation is a news channel that is really trying to be non-bias and doing a pretty good job of it.
The answer isn't more oversight hearings. The answer is to get public funds completely out of opinion news. If NPR is worthy of an audience, they will be able to find funding that isn't from the taxpayer. Even if they aren't worthy of an audience, they would probably find funding. Just stop the public funding and let them choose where they are on the journalism spectrum. Problem solved.

If you think NPR is bad, check out the CBC in Canada, which gets $1.4 billion from taxpayers. To put that in context, it would be the equivalent of giving NPR $14 billion annually to pump out its wildly asymmetric coverage and opinion.
Wouldn't it be nice if we could check a box on our tax return to control where our taxes go.
It is my opinion that ALL tax funding of the "arts" should be non-existent.
I used to really enjoy NPR but cannot listen to it anymore. It became so insulting of anyone right of the far left. So yes, government funding makes a mandate for neutrality.

I consider myself a center leaning liberal (though I’m ashamed to call myself a liberal these days with the current behavior of those around me). And I’ve listens to NPR for ages, but I routinely find myself hearing them cover issues in podcasts, or news, and I’ve seen them make large leaps in their framing and arguments without actually providing evidence of their claims. It’s concerning to hear statements and commentary being presented by NPR as facts and then hear statements that have basis in fact or at the last they take no time to present proof of why it is a fact. It’s a common problem when they talk about crime, the legal system, or other social issues. And it’s frustrating because while those are issues, they are also very nuanced. And if you are basing an educational program / podcast on an issue and acting as the person educating others, you owe it to your listener to take the time and fact check what you are presenting as well as take the time to show proof of your conclusions. And at times they make claims that are easily proven wrong. But it often feels like the person presenting the show has taken their data and just accepted it as factual without drilling down to see if it bears merit. Personally I don’t want to see public funding coming to programming that is going to fuel inherit bias and is not encouraging a more open factual based programming. I’d prefer to see programming that looks at issues and actually digs deeper into the issues and explores both political parties on their approaches to the issues, free from bias, and allows the listener to draw their own conclusions
Black people benefit overwhelmingly from systemic racism - (affirmative action) and government spending/programs often targeted specifically to help them.
Simple solution: Give NPR a deadline to fix the problem . If they miss the deadline, withdraw public funding until they fix it. But this won't happen, congress will just keep funding and making noise like they really care. NPR will remain the National Progressive Radio network.
Left leaning just means truth leaning, in general. Not everything that’s left leaning is accurate but the left is the accurate ideology. Helping and not killing other human beings is common sense.

Journalism is dead unless they get back to reporting both sides of a story and remain neutral. Opinions used to be separate from news stories and were commentaries and editorials. They were not news! I hate watching TV these days and always have the TV off.
It died with Obama, because that's when the media, by their own administration, advocated for him and covered up anything that would make him look bad because he was black.
