How The Indoraptor Was Brought To Life In 'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom' | Movies Insider

  • I still remember the 10-minute T-Rex scene in the original, and how much effort was put to that gigantic animatronic. While it was raining, they had to clean the Rex every 5 minutes to not soak up. All that effort to that small scene just makes me think how confident Spielberg was into that fantastic project. Though they did bring back an animatronic Rex in this movie, it was sitting down the whole time for a 5 minute long scene to simply retrieve blood.

When you stop to think about the complexity of the entire process involved, you've got to admit... these guys and their creative ingenuity have literally brought dinosaurs back to life! Forget what they might be made of inside or how they're actually created - whether by CGI or by physically-operated machines or puppetry - they become living, breathing creatures on screen!

  • Practical effects were so amazing in the first 3 films. The cross of both CGI and Animatronics in 3 was beyond amazing. I wish they wouldn’t have leaned so heavily on CGI for the JW film, but the sequels seem to have brought back a lot more of the physical creature elements and I can fully support their choices to experiment. Jurassic Park will always be my favorite, but it’s becoming a “Classic” really fast 😅
