We've all conditioned ourselves through psychosis to ignore the name / posts without it affecting us much; at leas the regulars have anyway. John Tortorella is the kind of coach that comes with a definitive shelf life. He's a great hockey mind, he understands the game better than just about anyone, but he IS the personality clash in the room, and inevitably he and the team will eventually get sick of each other to the point that you have to move him out. The question is, does he win a championship before that happens?
The move is only realistic if the purchase by the smith group happens quickly. The closer we get to next season without a purchase means there is more potential for the NHL to keep the coyotes because they still have the deal to play at the mullett for the next couple years. This can also buy time for them to figure out an arena without being relocated and moved back in via expansion. I think bettman would totally agree with this sentiment too. He has always been an advocate for Arizona.
It’s about bloody time. When I was in Phoenix last winter for a couple of weeks, you would never even know they had an NHL team. Even the women’s professional basketball team got more coverage than the Coyotes.
the Statistic of left handed golfers at Augusta is actually skewed quite a lot for hole set ups. I watched some video on it. Have to handicap left handed golfers a little higher at the Masters.

I'm from an era when a lot of stars for their respective teams were scoring buckets like Brett Hall, Selanne, Bure, Molginy, etc. Now it seems everyone is getting into that trend again but only Matthews has achieved the upper level. It doesn't seem like anyone else will hit 60, much less 70 so if he does that, it's going to be tough to bypass him for the assists queens. I don't know what the metrics are for the distinction / honour, but being the only player to achieve 70 is a very compelling argument.

Kucherov could end up with 50 goals and 100 assists; Not sure there should be much debate with Matthews for scoring 20 goals more when Kuch is going to have 60 more assists.
There absolutely should be a conversation and Mathew’s absolutely should not be involved, hart is a 3 horse race and he’s not one of them

I dont know how it will go over but you have to take the C from Brady if you want to get that team going. I know there is senior guys in the room but your team identity is a kid who plays fortnite with his buddies and likely parties a quite a bit. I think you want to get the C on Giroux or a more senior guy who has priorities like a family and being successful to change the tide in the dressing room and team direction. think of tavares in toronto as the Image. Something like they did in winnipeg and look how that turned out.
Thirty-two teams are enough in the NHL or any major sports league. I would hate to see expansion above thirty-two.

@@hockeyfan7100 I also thought that 24 was perfect. It's all because of the money. Present owners can cut up the expansion fee pie. I don't see expansion in the future into Canada. With so many teams now, many fan bases won't see their teams win the Cup in their lifetime. Some teams spend decades in mediocrity. More teams will need to relocate in the future as they lose fan support. It was very exciting when the NHL doubled and expanded from six to twelve teams, but now is simply too much.

@@mkwshing How is he more valuable than McDavid or Koooch? I think if anything, guys with more assists are more valuable to their team than guys with buckets of goals. Hyman's contribution this year has been great but they're NOTHING without McDavid feeding him. I've always said the set up man is far more vital to your team than the guy who pops it in the net. Auston is scoring much fancier goals than Hyman but still, I think taking him out of the equation, the Leafs are still a very formidable foe. Can't say that with Kooch or McDavid.
