The kids and the adults are the same people, it's past, present and future. 3 children who are friends in the past grow up and are separated by being on opposite sides of the war. Dimash's character married the girl, they have a daughter and she is pregnant with their son, who is the final character grown up leading people into a new world of peace and light.

There are three parts. First part is when the children are young. Second is when they grow up and one becomes a dictator and the kid that almost drowns and the girl are married and have a daughter and expect a baby. They were Childhood friends. The bracelets of friendship… Both boys are in love with the girl. She choose the one who later was the character of Dimash. The other one who never wore the bracelet turned to become the dictator. The girl and Dimash become parents of the girl who was killed in the war and the girl (wife of Dimash-Character) was pregnant and gives birth to their son who became later the “Moses-like leader figure” whom follow all people of all religions to the light. The mv is full of simbolism. The bracelet thing is part of a nautic Kompass to find the right way. The dictator uses the symbol but closed the whole in the middle. So ist useless, because the sunlight through the whole is needed to use the nautic Kompass for localisation of your position. (Sorry, I’m not a native english speaker) All people in the movie are symbolic for different cultures and religions the Jewish horn, the Oooohhmm (dimashs voice) and the deep growled Kazakh pray of death the moment he finds his daughter killed… So much more… I’m unfortunately not able to find the right words in English. But this ist what I know about the background. Hope it’ll help to understand.
Okay so the three kids on the beach grow up to be Dimash, he marries the girl and they have a daughter (the one who is killed) and she is also pregnant with his son. At the beginning if you pay really close attention you see that the taller friend tries to make an advance on the girl but she shuts him down in favor of Dimash. The friend becomes bitter and jealous and grows up the be a tyrant.
I think that he missed that because of the unwanted advert.
Thank you for your reaction to this masterpiece. In The Story Of One Sky he composed and sang the whole soundtrack himself. The video shows once again that Dimash is an absolute genius. In composing, in singing but also as an actor and as a storyteller. The powerful message conveyed by this video is more relevant today than ever. I think this video is mostly about the message. This message however, is for the first time more important than his vocal abilities. His voice is just the tool in this video. But simply unbelievable. His singing is indescribable and I don’t have the words to express it adequately. But it is only the mediator of what this video is about. This is so heartbreaking and sad and an awesome masterpiece. Pure goosebumps. You probably have to see it more than once to understand it. He worked on this composition for three years and also wrote the screenplay. The premiere was on September 24, 2022. As some have mentioned, this video should be seen by many people. It may be very brutal for some. But let’s not forget that for many, including children, this is everyday life in some countries. And Dimash relentlessly shows us how ugly war is. During his concerts he always tells the audience he loves all people in every country. He visited so many different counties with his concerts and he realized that there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And OMG he is such a phenomenal actor. Dimash was the little boy who was drowning in the beginning and he gave the necklace to his childhood friend (and future leader) and the girl. The girl on the beach was his future wife. She was pregnant and in the end of the video she gave birth to her and Dimashs' (character) second child. The littel girl who was shot was Dimashs and her first daughter. When he came home and saw his daughter dead on the ground, he had to assume that his wife and unborn child were also killed. Desperation and maybe revenge has led him to kill his former friend. When I first saw the video, I was shocked. I didn't think he was going to shoot his friend. But in the end that all made sense. Dimash wanted to show what revenge can do. Violence always breeds violence, and because of this, not only is the leader dead, but so is Dimash. It was so heartbreaking to see Dimash drown at the end. Dimash in the last sequence of the video was the baby that was born and now as a grown man unites people of different nationalities and religions for peace. In this video you can see how the main religions are represented mostly with his voice. Islam with the type of Arabic melisma (unfortunately I don't know the correct explanation for this type of singing), Buddhism with the monks and the enchanting "Om", Judaism with the shofar and the Christian church with the soprano singing, which often can be heard in churches. This video is beautiful but also shocking. It delights you but also moves you. It makes you feel but also think and leaves a message. This is art. 8:50 He mixes vocal references to the call to pray from Islam, the greeting to souls from Tengrism; the Om from Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, and Jainism and gives at the same time a certain cadence of Gregorian chant from Catholicism. First off: Yes, I know this is hella long and you think you don't have the patience to read it. I get it. However, this is by far the best explanation I have found. It was written by Heiderose Kober: This is subtitled "Requiem” but it is also a vision and a call to action. Dimash is steeped in sacred music and has a deep understanding of the mystic teachings and symbolism of the major world religions as well as Kazakh Shamanism. It is not by coincidence that the first performance of this work took place on September 14, 2022, at the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Kazakhstan. The written statement at the end of the video is directly from the “Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together” signed jointly on February 4, 2019, by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmad El-Tayeb. Dimash met and spoke with both men at the September meeting. Everything Dimash does is intentional, and this piece has layers that would take a dissertation to unravel. I only touch on some of what struck me in the symbolism. The music is a dissertation all by itself. The pendant is an interesting element. It is a gnomon from a maritime compass sundial. This triangular blade is attached to the sundial, casting a shadow on the sundial while the perforated pinhole projects the image of the sun onto the dial. It was used for both timekeeping and navigation, with the gnomon oriented to True North. (Thank you, Snarky Tart for that information). In the MV, (the taller child) who later becomes the military commander, never puts on the necklace. After Dimash, (the drowning boy), gives his friend the pendant. The camera focuses on his hand and shows that his friend has bent the gnomon in anger over being rejected by the girl (later Dimash's Wife and the mother of his daughter who is killed). Thus bent, it can never be oriented to True North, and he has lost his moral l compass. Later, we see a version of the gnomon as the military insignia on the uniforms of the commander and his soldiers, but distorted and without the hole that allows light to shine through rendering it useless as a compass. When we lose the original intent of a symbol by twisting it into something it is not or by just paying lip service, it no longer has any spiritual meaning. At best it becomes a useless prop, at worst it is used to mislead and manipulate people. Contemporary music is also present: With the phrase "We have passed the moment of Imagine," Dimash reminds us that we are past the sentiments evoked by the song "Imagine" by John Lennon. It is time to stop dreaming about a world of peace and harmony. If we choose life, if we wish for peace, if we want a world without war for our children and grandchildren, we must act and take up the long hard path up the mountain towards the light. It is the only way. The storyline is a very human one: we start as innocents until our hearts are broken, we fail, or our dreams are not realized. If in our pain and disappointment, we turn to anger and blame instead of acceptance, power instead of love, greed and envy instead of generosity, hatred instead of forgiveness, and revenge instead of justice, we sow the seeds for conflicts that can turn into war. The Piper's call is seductive as it promises redress for our grievances, control over our circumstances, and power over those who thwarted us, and this appeals to our wounded ego. However, let's remember that the Piper is a symbolic figure of Death from the Middle Ages, often used as a metaphor for trusting and following charismatic but dangerous and malevolent leaders to certain death. Even if we resist, as the adult Dimash character does, we often employ the same methods and weaponry as the Piper, and thus those who fight back betray peace as well because peace cannot be won through violence. That is the dilemma of those of us who did not start the war, who do not support the war, but are forced to respond in order to defend ourselves and those we love. How can we rid the world of evil without becoming what we fight against? The burning sign "Waldenberg" is a reference to the end of WWII when the US Army destroyed the last of the resistance by the German Wehrmacht close to the end of the war in April 1945 in the part of Germany where I grew up. I have seen the aftermath of war as I was born a few years later when much of Germany was still in rubble. Waldenburg is only 28 miles from my hometown and was completely destroyed as you can see from the picture. Many of the dead in those bombed-out buildings were women and children. The good guys defeated evil but at what price? War is not the answer. We must find better ways to keep evil in check. American-troops-move-through the last movement is powerful: The cries over the loss of a beloved child and the cries of giving birth to new life are presented as a call-and-response grounded by a powerful Om chant that creates a sacred space, reminding us that death and birth are both sacraments and are interwoven in the tapestry of life. Dimash's vocalization and the pilgrims representing world religions and religious leaders, past and present, walking together shift the narrative toward the final conflict and finally redemption. When Dimash’s character decides to avenge the murder of his daughter, his state of consciousness is reflected in the darkening sky with lightning bolts of anger accompanying the storm of his emotions that buffets the pilgrims and hinder progress. The fog of war obscures the light. When he is killed after exacting retribution, he is dropped back into the "sacred womb" of Earth, the ocean of love and mercy, and is cleansed of the old hatreds and grievances that only bring more death and suffering. He breaks the wheel of endless war and suffering by choosing life. Dimash's scream of “we’re choosing life” is that of giving birth: the old earthly consciousness of an eye for an eye has to die to make way for a new spiritual consciousness that embraces all life. Soul is breaking free to return to its natural state of love and purity as exemplified by the images of the children and the newborn baby. The blowing of the shofar signals God's mercy for humankind when it turns from wrong to right: in the Zohar, the book of Jewish mysticism, it says: “When human beings repent of their sins, they blow the shofar on earth. Its sound ascends On High and awakens the heavenly shofar, and so mercy is aroused, and judgment is removed.” Reborn as a leader for peace and love, Dimash's character in the form of his son becomes a spiritual guide for all of mankind on our shared journey up the mountain towards the light of God, however we may interpret or name the divine. We are all on the same path, even if our personal narratives, cultural heritage, race, and spiritual orientations are very different from one another. By focusing on our common destination rather than on our differences, we can walk together in peace and love and mutual respect. Carl Jung wrote: “Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darkness's of other people. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely. Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams: who looks inside, awakes.” This is what Dimash has done with this work; he has made the darkness conscious. We can only raise our individual and collective consciousness by bringing to light what needs to be healed in our lives and our world, and then we need to work together to restore wholeness to what is broken and bring about peace and unity, one step at a time. We don’t have to wait. We can start right now. As the hymn tells us: "Let there peace in the world, and let it begin with me." Baraka Bashad.

👉 That is the grandiose and impressive result of three years of compositional work by Dimash Qudaibergen. This clip is not about war, it’s about peace. War here is a means of expressing the contrast of what happens when we lose love for one another. It is about the call to unite, to stop dividing each other along national, social, religious lines in order to preserve life, love, friendship, and the land for our children. Story: The clip is divided into several parts. One day the friend saves the protagonist when he almost drowns. The three children are friends and their common external symbol is the necklace (gnomon). Both boys are in love with the girl. But she chooses “Dimash”. The other boy feels hurt. The pendant is a gnomon, the shadow hand of a sundial, which served as a nautical compass in ancient times. This symbol is upside down on the uniforms. (That's not how it works.) It's war. The children are grown and the two boys have parted ways. Dimash's childhood friend has become the country's president/general and mercilessly follows his twisted ideology. As an antagonist (Piper - based on the “Pied Piper of Hamelin”), he carries the idea of a saving war: “Only war will lead us to peace. Only the strongest can find love in their hearts. You must be strong enough to give freedom to the world. A world where every city, every home is one. We accompany everyone who is ready to start this new life. Anyone who resists has no place with us. I choose freedom. The world is my oyster and I want to give it to you. “War is the way to a united people!” The main character, Dimash, also speaks of unity, of peace, but through the lens of kindness and love. He's struggling, he's confused, he's in shock, but he has to save his family - his pregnant wife and his young daughter. When he finally comes home, he is horrified to discover that his entire family has been killed. His wife has disappeared and his little daughter is dead. Я была на премьере живого выступления в Алматы ))) обязательно его посмотрите, оно было просто Невероятно Мощным🕊️❤️🕊️🔥🔥🔥 и на следующий день смотрела премьеру клипа уже на большом экране, эффект от просмотра был примерно такой ! 😳🤯😭❤️ Это было передано Димашу для всего Человечества! The three kids at the beginning are Dimash's character, the leader and the woman later, who became Dimash's characters wife, The little girl is their daughter. Dimash charecters wife was pregnant, and gave birth to a son right at the end. With that child being all grown up in the final scene.

I had to watch his video several times before catching the whole storyline, but his message showing the pain of war came through right away, especially with his phenomenal acting. So much to take in at once with great music, lyrics and visuals each competing for attention. Watching you react to this intense video convinced me to subscribe to your channel. The beauty of this film is that much is left to personal interpretation. To me, the walking people are the Seekers of Truth throughout history, symbolized by mostly religious figures of all religions. You're the first reactor I've heard wonder if the first two scenes were shown in reverse chronological order (i.e. the near drown came *after* the presumed dimash character as a kid created the three friendship necklaces). I checked and could not see the girl wearing the necklace when the presumed dictator character as a kid was rescuing the nearly drowned dimash character, but her blouse meant it's not definitive. Also, only about a half dozen of the 100+ reactors I've watched reacting to this video spoke about Dimash (the singer, not the character, though of course there's overlap given that it's Dimash) crying as he sang early in the song. Thank you so much for staying present with the video as best you could during commercial breaks. Most of us watching you will have been entirely unaffected by those breaks. You had a much harder task but you handled it without falling apart, though I feel you are too down on yourself in general. By then you had already got so much beauty in the bank, beauty in the presence of ugliness, due to your evident awareness, open mindedness, curiosity, it was all OK. And sure enough, after briefly acknowledging it had thrown you off your stride you were back immersed in the experience, wondering about hope. And there was hope, just not in quite the way you were exploring. And yeah, your comment about goosebumps all over brought me direct to realizing I was covered with them. That screaming "We're choosing life" at the end still gets me every time, after listening to TSoOS 100s of times. Dunno about heaven -- some folk like me don't exactly buy into the notion of heaven, and Dimash is trying to speak to everyone -- but at least the hope some are ascending toward the light. Mini movie indeed! He does many great live performances, but imo all his MVs are absolutely stunning, even when the stun is about fun (he does that too, though more often it's very deep stuff like this video). Hello Josh! Thank you for your sincere reaction, I like your interpretation but the kids in the beginning are the grown adults living through the war! When I first watched this MV, it broke me, I became very emotional, it was heart wrenching, to say the least! 😥 Have you noticed that Dimash is the main solder right from the very beginning of the war scene, when he was walking under the overpass, also when he was shot in the arm, many people miss that? Dimash has worked very hard for 3 years composing the music for this song, and around 20 days to make this MV. It turned out to be his most valuable MV, in the ideological sense, ever made, a real Masterpiece! I believe that Dimash deserves THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE for his selfless hard work and tireless efforts, not only for this MV, but for trying to bring the world together in love, peace, and harmony and through his many charities. He is a Legend in the making and will go down in History. This is my breakdown of the story, as I see it: This mini movie is full of symbolisms, it's the story of 3 youths, and the necklace which was created by the young Dimash and shared with his friends symbolizing lifelong friendship and unity. The boys both loved the same girl, but she loved Dimash, so the other boy grew resentful over time, started a war, using the symbol of the necklace given to him by his friend Dimash, as the crest on his army uniform. 1) Dimash, was the boy drowning at the beginning and at the end. 2) The Piper, is the one who saved Dimash, became the leader, and was killed by Dimash at the end. 3) The young girl, who died in childbirth, became Dimash’s future wife, had two children together; a daughter who was killed by the Piper's army; and the birth of a son who inherited the necklace from his mother…, they were all affected by the war. “People are the caravan…. Life is the way”: Dimash spoke these words in Kazakh, when he found his daughter dead. For the symbolic aspects, Dimash is showing the different cultures and religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hindi, etc.), through throat singing, which is called the REQUIEM (mass for the souls of the dead), from different religions. The Pilgrim or (Shepard or a Wise Man) at the end of the video was Dimash’s baby boy, born in his image and grows up to guide the Representatives of different religions and race from different Nations to the light, for a new beginning living together in peace, tolerance, love, and harmony. Everyone interprets the ending differently. Some say that after death we all go to the same place, regardless of faith, beliefs, etc. Others say that the born child grows up, becomes a leader and leads others.
