  • I am a confessed plant killer. 😢My mother grew up on a farm, and like you, is a natural “Plant Whisperer “. I’m so happy that I found you and Miyu, because I am learning so much and feeling so much more confident thanks to you. When I was a kid I used to watch Bob Ross on Public Television and he helped me grow as an artist. You are my new Bob Ross! Thank you.❤

    • Thank you! That’s good to know. I’m always self conscious about my accent so it’s nice to hear that. I never think about other peoples accents when they speak English so I just need to apply that to myself!

  • I think it's always so lovely to see other people learning your mother tounge! This warmed my little mexican heart! Your Spanish is really good, I hope you keep wanting to speak it! And please don't worry about the accent (although you sound really good), we all have accents, I think it's about seeing the beauty in the imperfect. Having an accent just means that you put in the effort to learn another language and I think that's admirable! P.S.: En español te decimos el BenjiPlanta ❤🌱☕🍵

  • Love LOve LOVE the tree fern. Brought back memories from 20 years ago when i attended a Hardy Plant Study Weekend here in Portland Oregon and one was awarded to me as a door prize! Thrilled, of course. Had it a couple of years, but lost it during an unusually cold winter storm. Nice to see it in your garden. It is a show stopper for sure. I really enjoy your videos. You really have so much knowledge of the plant world and always look forward to what I can learn from you. Enjoy Ireland!. My brother and his wife are going there this summer. I understand they have lot of roadside wild fushias there.

  • Benji, welcome back to America! I want to give you some positive REINFORCEMENT!!! You are such a gentle person that I can’t imagine your “stage fright” at your IKEA booth, but thanks for recording your last presentation. We could tell how gentle you were with the woman you were helping re-plant a plant 🪴 right there! Very gentle. Watching you carefully “paint” the glue as you reassembled the broken pot made me wonder if you’ve ever dabbled in painting! 🎨 You were doing it so carefully. (Did you worry about the excess glue or not??) I admire plants but as I may have mentioned, I have a real “brown thumb”. Best wishes!

  • As an Australian 🇦🇺 I can tell you that in the state of Tasmania they call them man ferns and can be 15 feet tall. I know because I’ve seen them. In Victoria we call them tree ferns. They feed from the top - trapped composting leaves etc and probably dead insects and bird poop. Place a banana skin to rot into it as food.

  • Your videos are so calming and relaxing, Benji. Thank you for bringing a bit of peace and contemplation to my day. I'm a Canadian who spent two decades living in Ireland before moving to California 5 years ago. I have to suggest visiting Jimi Blake at Hunting Brook Gardens in County Wicklow if you can make it while you're over there. Although I'd say you know about this special spot already? Also, if you're in Dublin city centre, it's worth finding the Iveagh Gardens for a quiet break in the middle of town. Enjoy your Irish travels when you head over there!

  • you should see if there's a ceramics/pottery class that specializes in teaching things like how to mend pots, decorate them, pair them with plants, or other things you're interested in to expand your skills :) i also need some gardening advice, if anyone could help! 🌱 so im growing some new plants after my snake and asparagus came back that i got last year. nothing has survived in this apt before, but im finally succeeding slowly. So this year, i got just some dollar store seeds and have a medium-sized wildflower garden sprouting like crazy, some cosmos that i gave to my girlfriend to take care of, and i have a mystery large-ish round white seed sprouting in it's own tiny pot from an envelope called "garden mix." i wish i knew what it was, it's just shedding it's shell in the last day. 🌼 i cant afford fertilzer, and cant make compost in my tiny apartment, but i crushed up some egg shells and spread them so i hope that helps the tiny plants get stronger. if anyone has any idea what the mystery seed is, or any more ideas to give my plants nutrients from what i might have at home, i'd really appreciate it! im trying to give my garden as much love as possible.
