They say "city wouldve gone for it at the emirates" well they bloody lost against us at the emirates so that went well for them, and we could not afford to lose this game. The risk of ruin for us losing that game was too great, if we lose that game we are pretty much out of the title race, would take a genuine miracle to win the league from there. Could we have played more positively to try and get 3 points? Yes, but then we introduce a much greater risk into losing, like city did against us at the emirates and it pretty much being all over. For you to keep out one of the best attacking teams in Europe both home and away without much of a scratch, that spells a team that can not only compete for the league but the CL as well. This is the current CL winner they did that too, comfortably. Rivals should be more worried about this kind of performance from Arsenal, we've NEVER seen this from them, both home and away keeping clean sheets against the Champions. NEVER.

      @dre8463@dre8463Ай бұрын
    • @@dre8463 completely missing the point. Not a single person said it wasn't a good result, the problem was how Arsenal played. Arsenal aren't meant to see this game as a game against "the best club in europe" and shit their pants and park the bus, they're meant to be on the same level, and compete. If you go into a game and park the bus because you're afraid you're gonna lose, you're basically admitting that you're not better than the other team. And that's a mentality that you can't win the league with.

  • I'll start this off stating that I am a very realistic Man Utd supporter! But Theo and Reev are missing the point of Tom's speech. Arsenal got a result (Good job), BUT City dominated possession because Arsenal's midfield sat back. They came to the Etihad looking for a draw and got it. Debating anything else is just being blind to the reality. If Man Utd played the exact same game Arsenal did on Sunday (which we have been TRYING for the past 3/4 years), pundits and rival fans would have shouted "washed club" "Negative game plan" etc etc Arsenal being actual title contenders could have actually tried taking the game at City and try and dominate that midfield because they actually had the players on the pitch and the confidence to do that. I think that should be the takeaway from the game.

City took 3, Liverpool took 3. The onus is on the home team to win here imo and they had nothing. NEVER looked like scoring. That game could have been 180 minutes. Sideways passes, best players ghosts, 1 shot from a set piece. I will say again don't compare United to this Arsenal. The levels are different. Eye test, stats, position, everything shows that.

    • @@3bladeninja21 United can be walked through by any team, so they decide to park the bus at Anfield and the next day they're getting pelters for doing so. Arsenal have (I believe) the best defence in the league and are playing against a team more on their level yet take the exact same approach. The scrutiny that has followed has been a fraction of what was aimed at United, and that's my point. Crap teams (United) can't go to Liverpool, City etc and play their usual game as it'll be a cricket score. Arsenal quite clearly can yet decided to sit back and offer next to nothing for 90 minutes. You may argue City didn't look like scoring, but they came closer than 30+ shot Liverpool did against a crap United. But whether City looked like scoring or not is irrelevant, it's the approach of United/Arsenal I am comparing where the two teams are in very different places. Going to City and playing for a draw when it's just those two going for the title I can somewhat understand, but when there's a third team in the hunt (Liverpool), they should be going to City to try to win. Arsenal will likely look back at this fixture come the end of the season and wish they went for it rather than simply try avoid losing.
