I was born 1977 in Poland and learned in elementary school 1984-1992. When we played with collegues football during the breaks between the classes or after classes on squares and fields next to our school when somebody had very good dribble skills he was then called by the others Maradona. Maradona was for us top player, simply the best on football pitch. I was fan of him since 1986. Farewell Dieguito, rest in peace. I will never forget you.

From what I can gather watching tributes to Maradona is that he was one of those rare players who could change the outcome of a game on his own. Now, there are many players who can do that on occasions but to be able to do it again and again and again and that too in major tournaments, is really special.
He had Messis ability and Ronaldos character, against defenders that were literally axe murderers.

Craig is spot on. Back then the pitches were terrible, tackling from behind was allowed, defenders were brutal, Italian defenders and defenses were the best they've ever been (Baresi, Maldini, Aldair, Scirea, Passarella, Bergomi, Cabrini, Brehme, Costacurta...), the game was nowhere near as open - especially in Italy, training and diet regimes are far more advanced/strict/professional now, and then we have the great advances in surgery where players today more or less make full recoveries. I would also add that while he did have some good players by his side (Ferrara, Carreca, Di Napoli, Cannigia, Passarrella) the teams he was in were not as strong from 1 to 11 as those that Messia and CR7 have had by their side.
So many years I watched and enjoyed him played the game I love so much... I think some part of me died with DIEGO. Rest In Peace LITTLE BIG MAN

As years of mismanagement ensured the Indian team wallowed outside the top 100, we embraced 🇦🇷 and the great footballers that followed - Caniggia, Ortega, Batistuta, Veron, Tevez and of course, the greatest of them all, Messi. The sorrow we felt in 2014 and the great joy of the Copa finals last month ensures that we don't need politics and leaders to build bridges. All it takes is a small boy with a dream. And a ball.
