    • Live your life with contentment. Don't live with regrets for not telling someone that you love them, for not apologizing for your mistake, for not helping someone when you could. You never know if tomorrow you can see them again and can talk to them. So do it right away. Because Regret is the most painful thing you can experience in life. Thanks for your question.🙏

    • @@Sprouht Contentment is simple yet complex to understand. To be happy we have to see the positive side of every situation. Spread love, be kind and empathetic towards others and avoid greed for material things and possessions. Love but don't beg them to love you back. Many times we are unhappy as things are not happening how we expect them to be. It is guaranteed disappointment. So to experience contentment we should be like the droplet on lotus leaf. Attached detachment , Detached attachment..

  • My advice: Learn the difference between: career, job, and vocation. They are all distinctly different things and I think this causes a LOT of stress and wastes a LOT of people's precious time. Define what 'success' looks like for YOU, whether that means living in a tent or a mansion, don't let others opinions influence the decisions you make.

    • This is excellent advice. I do feel like most of my generation (millennials) won't truly understand this until it's too late. I'm in my early 30's and have treated every job that I've had like a job while my peers treat it as a career expecting fulfillment.

    • Exactly, and if you need to lay in bed and eat cookies all day for a few weeks, a month, you have plenty of time to still grow from that, and be someone. Life takes many twists and turns.. and depression very well may be 1 of them.. and someone whose never been through depression likely won't understand that. Heal yourself first before you pressure yourself to do Anything else! People who force themselves through tough times without healing are far more likely to make bad decisions for the sake of just doing something.. possibly even hurting others in the process. Stop. Don't do that. Take care of yourself first.. and consider seeking help. Humans weren't made to do Everything alone! ❤

    • How do you go about healing yourself? I'm 59 years old and feel like a ship that has lost its compass. I'm dealing with yet another episode of depression and i'm struggling to get back on my feet. The thing is i don't have a direction to go towards. The only real family i have is my elderly mother. The two remaining siblings i still have don't care about me really. Its so painful to be alone with your thoughts and are unable to free your heart from intense sadness and pain. It's like my inner child is crying out for someone to help me out of this mess. How do i find ME in all of this mental chatter? I've gone through therapy before and know how to use the tools, but it isn't working at this time. I know i'm a stranger on You Tube reaching out to you. But, i feel like i need something inside me to change or i don't think i can continue like this much longer.

    • @@tanastoiberg7981 have you try seeking God? I’m 24 years of age and so much had happened in my little years. Whenever I get depressed I used to always turn to external things such as pleasure, alcohol, drugs & etc. I also tried working out which it does work a little, but time catches on and I’m back in the same state I was before. By realizing that I’m imperfect and will always do wrong, God was my last option. Although coming to God doesn’t make you perfect, but it fills the emptiness within and gives you peace and fulfillment that the world couldn’t give❤️. Seek the Lord & call upon his name. I wish you the best from one stranger to another 🙏.

  • My advice to younger people is that if you want to travel, do it while you are young and healthy and have energy and curiosity. I always planned my life to assume that I could travel when I was older or retired, and got a mortgage at 21. I wish I had paused for a year or two to go and travel before tying myself down financially, because my health has taken an unexpectedly bad turn the last few years and at this stage I don't know if I will have the mobility and energy to be able to travel in my older years, whereas I could have in my younger years. Basically - don't put things off if you really want to do them, because you don't know what challenges you'll have as you get older that may stop you from doing them later in life.

Instead of beginning each day with an attitude of "Ugh, I HAVE to do this," change the thought to "I GET to do this." @RevanEde@RevanEde3 ай бұрын
    • @@RevanEde I realise this may be really hard to do, especially if you have severe social anxiety, but maybe care less about what other people think about you? There's a reason basically all of the elderly interviewees in the video give that advice. People generally don't give an f*** about you (as in what you do or what you look like). This might sound painfully direct, because it most likely is painfully direct, but it's also true. People don't care nearly as much as you think. Just think about it: how much do you care about how other people act/behave/dress if it doesn't hurt anybody else? Not a whole lot, right? That's how people will regard you too. Maybe it'll help you to actively decide to think this every time you get anxiety issues to make them more manageble? I have strugggled too, and still do with things, it's part of life. But there's no reason to make it harder than it has to be. And if you're already in that spot where you don't want to be (like extreme social anxiety)? It'll take time to change the pathways in your brain. A year or years, but I know you can do it. You probably need some good help with it, but I know you can do it. I got out of several depressions, a phobia for dogs, and developing OCD with persistence and time. It's possible. One little step at a time is great progress. Oh, and talent is overrated. You'll be able to go way further if you're just ok or good at something and are persistent in the practice than if you just have raw talent. My sister could've been in a big orchestra, she's that talented. She just never put it the effort to get that far and she was a bit lax with practice. There are probably people with less talent in that orchestra who did actually put in the work. And as a personal sidenote I also feel like telling people "you're so talented" kinda diminishes all the time and effort they put into developing that skill regardless what it is. Art, writing, music, things related to horses. It takes time and practice. Maybe you're a very artistically gifted person but you just need to put in a bit more time and practice in learning the skill and you could make beautiful horse related art you could sell? I'm certain there's a market for that :D There's a marked for basically anything you just have to find the right people.

I dropped his Spanish class, never took another Spanish class, and didn’t go abroad because I didn’t think I was at the appropriate “level”. Big regret. • I’m 60 y/o. My parents worked hard for me and my siblings. Their basic goal was to work and save money because they wanted us to have what they didn’t have in their youth. They WANTED US TO STUDY, so my older sister and I did study. It’s funny that we both had a vocation. She was an english teacher and I was an Administrative Assistant to a Human Resources Director in a big company. People might think that my job isn’t a vocation, but to me it was, because I liked to help and “serve others”. To serve is a service and I was great at that. Not everyone has the ability to do that type of work but I always loved it. My little sister had mental health issues since young and she went to college but didn’t get to earn a degree. My parents also wanted us to have our own houses. So I got my apartment and my oldest sister and her husband bought their house. My little sister’s husband bought their home. At my thirties, I started having mental issues and eventually I was disabled. I hit rock bottom because it was the end of my career. My beloved older sister died relatively young from a heart attack. My youngest sister had a stroke and the right side of her body wasn’t the same anymore. So, my point is that life is hard and sometimes we do things in a certain way to honor our parents wishes. We left aside those things that maybe we dreamt of doing at a younger age, and we prioritize on what our parents did and wanted us to do. I feel like I wasted my time and my life. But I will always appreciate what my parents did for us. It’s true, take time while you’re young to get to know people in other countries and don’t leave this for when you’re retired. Who knows if you’ll never get to retire? It was great hearing what other people had to say about life and happiness. ☮️❤️

    • You really can’t trust the medical doctors of today unless you absolutely have to. It’s important to manifest good health of body and mind as well as search for alternative remedies and doctors if need be. I’ve been in terrible health for many years and decided to take my health into my own hands. I’ve managed to cure issues that doctors had no clue how to help me with. Be your own advocate and research constantly. You’ll find answers. Also, read people’s posts. You’ll find golden nuggets that could also help you. The last thing is to be grateful for your perfect health before you have it. Know that you can and will be healed and feel great but act as if that has already happened. It sounds crazy but believe me… it works. Tell your body that you love it and trust that it has the ability to heal itself. It does and it will. Blessings🌸

There's a level of financial liberation you have to be at in order to live life a certain way. Stability and security are necessary before you start living a liberated lifestyle. I am only 23, I don't know much about life, still trying to learn, yet one simplest piece of advice I would like to give everyone is "Live", live your life to the fullest, experience everything, we never know if we will get a second chance. Learn from everything, it's okay to be a stupid, it's okay to be broken. Talk to people, learn from them, get to know different culture, religions, food, music, ideologies, etc. Live the fantasy that you always long for.

What we feed our bodies determined our future health. What we save determined our future financial security. Avoid toxic people and environment too. Live below your means to avoid debt. Have a purpose in life. Don't rot in bed. Be grateful for everything. If you choose to marry know who you are before you select a partner. See her in all seasons before you marry her.

And regarding the finances, having a clear financial mindset is essential to thrive in this world, and being cautious and not to fall into any debt traps is also important. But financial situation and the perspective towards money is different for different people, usually based on their upbringing. I just hope everyone lives a happy life but I know for sure that it will never be the case, sometimes I wonder how humans ended up like this, but I also think our outcome was deterministic from the get go, this is the only way it could have been...I know I went off topic but there are so many things we humans wonder about, I just hope everyone behaves kind to everyone else and try to live a honest life and be happy with they have (like you mentioned)

Involve yourself in things that light you up inside, & give your all to pursuing those things- Just Do Your Best. You will surprise yourself with all you can achieve. Everyone fears change. That fear protects us from doing things that can be harmful to us. Do not, however, let that fear dictate whether you attempt something new; do the new thing, despite the fear & trepidation you feel. The alternative is staying right where you are which most likely is a rut. And I agree with the people who say, "Learn something new every day." Be curious about the world in which we live, & enjoy expanding your horizons.

When it comes to your career, set up your priorities and boundaries. That way, you will avoid being used, and you will feel in control of your destiny and your life. Do not live for others, but be mindful of others. Only take student loans if that is your only option. You do not want to be enslaved by debt at the beginning of your financial journey. Last but not least, spend in buying and eating healthy foods. If you don't spend the money and the time on your health, you will spend them on your sickness. That is some of what i have learned so far.

  • I did the same thing the guy who wanted to be an actor did. To the point where I gave up the opportunity to go to The Juilliard School in NY on a scholarship from my college teacher. I was about 20-21, I was also a foster that aged out of foster care and needed to work. I had to pay my last foster parents rent to live with them for a long while. Only good thing I got of that is that they were older and when they passed, I was given their house. But I need to work even more to pay for utilities, the house was paid off when I got it, another perk. But I never became the actor I wanted to be, oh well, maybe in another life, lol, wink.

    • No matter your age, you can still act, one way or another. It’s not about being famous, but the joy of acting - can be community plays, and so forth. Who knows where that could lead? If the love of acting is in you, find a theater group and join that. I have a friend who is a scientist by day, and she acts in plays. She has children, a husband, and a demanding career. But she still finds time to be in plays and an acting group. Just go out there and act. Nothing stopping you.

  • Advice from me, a 61 year old guy, is consider doing what I did and invest some time in your late teens or early twenties with a skilled therapist, even if you think nothing is wrong in your life. You will save time and maybe future heartache, getting to know who you really are, what truly makes you tick and then you can more accurately make decisions for yourself in your 20s, 30s, 40s about your life in accordance with who you really are, rather than who you wish to be or who others want you to be. It will save you a lot of time and avoid making major and costly life mistakes. Yes, it's ok to make mistakes and learn from them, but it's probably best if you can avoid huge mistakes that have lifelong implications.
