Bayonetta is an iconic character, with her pair of glasses, dual pistols, high heels, and hair that transforms into a deadly weapon. While most of us would recognize Bayonetta among all other witches, what do we really know about her? I’m (NAME), and today we will go over the story of the Bayonetta trilogy. Get cozy, because this timeline is not a walk in the park: it’s filled with battles between heaven and hell, bad guys who aren’t so bad after all, world-ending threats, multiverses, and a little bit of love to make the world a better place before a new villain wants to destroy it all once again.

I remember being absoutely flabbergasted when they revealed that all 3 games were different Bayonettas

@@leniluan5131 The second game very specifically references the events of the first, and the ending even creates a closed loop that leads into the events of the first. This lazy, awful attempt at a retcon for the sake of stupid fan service means absolutely nothing. If Kamiya wants to use the third game to say "nope, the story doesn't matter" then I'm taking him up on his offer.
@@octogigas Here's the case: Bayonetta 1 and 2 happen in different timelines, but the events of Bayonetta 1 happened in B2, but not vice versa. It was definitely a lazy excuse to have all 3 bayos, but a justification at that

Fun fact, the Bayonetta from the third game is the Time Displaced Cereza from Bayonetta 1, aka young Cereza

No mention of Bayonetta Origins :( I absolutely love that game
The game feels like what happens when Okami and Bayonetta, two of Hideki Kamiya's most iconic video games, fuse together for a storybook-like story. I do know that it's a prequel, but seeing all the time traveling and timeline altering, I do not know where it fits.
@@yellohammer8571 The endgame bonus chapter featuring Jeanne confirms that Bayonetta origins takes place in the same timeline as Bayonetta 1, 2 & 3.

JUST A REMINDER BAYO 1 AND 2 ARE NOT SEPARATE UNIVERSES! (If you read the bio for the Bayo 2 it says she comes from an almost identical universe to Bayonetta 1)

Bayo 1 and 2 are time loops
"almost" meaning different ❤ The moon exists in Bayo 2, even though Balder destroyed it in 1. Cereza says "Balder! The *dimensional* portal is opening!" when she opens a portal back to her time. So they aren't the same universe, unless the moon can magically come back for no reason. ❤
@@nicolecanlas9365On the official platinum games website, there is a video of Kamiya giving commentary over the entire first game, and he says directly that time travelling back to return little Cereza creates a new timeline universe, therefore any time travel that causes a change creates a new universe ❤
But Bayo 3 is Little Cereza’s universe. So there is that.

My favorite character is of course Nero, from the Devil May Cry Series. You guys may say why am I picking a non-Bayonetta series character? Well, guys, you're wrong. 'cause Devil May Cry & Bayonetta take place in the SAME universe, confirmed by Enzo's appearance in the DMC3 Manga and it's canon because it shows Dante and Vergil's meeting 1 year before DMC3's story (Said by Dante at the end of Mission 02 in DMC3: It's been nearly a year since we last met. Where does the time go?) another proof that the 2 universes are the same is a piece of concept art from Bayonetta 1 that shows Enzo playing solitaire with a muscular man in the gates of hell bar while Bayonetta is ordering something from Rodin & yes that muscular man is Dante.
Also Bayo contracts with Phantasmaraneae aka Phantom who fought Dante. His name Tony Redgrave came from Luka’s father’s name Antonio Redgrave. There’s tons of references to Viewtiful Joe, Wonderful 101, even Okami, so those are all also part of the Bayoverse too :P jk (maybe)
The director and lore authority of DMC said angels don't exist in DMC, so they aren't in the same universe ❤

I don't really know, but I do know that Dante, DMC's protagonist, has quite a lot in common with Bayonetta, apart from the fact that they were created by Hideki Kamiya.

The fact that bayonetta 2 is before bayonetta one and bayonetta 3 could be play in de middle of the two so that will explain some thing like why did bayonetta change and why do they already know themselve
corrections: - before the first Armageddon, there was only one realm. nobody knows how and why the previous universe got destroyed. all we know is that the Trinity of Realities was a result of it. - Bayonetta doesn’t give her younger self a watch. the little one already had it on her because it was a birthday gift from Rosa, but Bayonetta gave her one of her ribbons so she can wear it like a necklace. Bayonetta teaches her that when you love something, you should never lose it, but keep it safe close to your heart. - the realms messing up are a result of an imbalance of power among the realms since Jubileus was killed, leaving Sheba and Loptr and Loki. from what i understand, it’s not necessarily due to the creation of branching timelines. - only Bayonetta is the one summoning Gomorrah, not Jeanne - Bayonetta barely ever helps her variants against the Homunculi. she just stands there for 3 of her variants and does the rest of the work when they’re dead. at least she did help β3 and the latter sacrificed herself. her reaction time sucks so hard in this game smh - there is no Sigurd from the Alphaverse. Singularity killed Midmyers Sigurd and shapeshifted into him to deceive Bayo and Jeanne - Viola also gets Luka’s scarf (man did they desperately try too hard to be like DMC 5 in this game 😭)
I came over to this side from DMC and I can see this series inspired the froggo in the church of dmc4

I like to think Bayonetta ended in 2 on that time loop and that's it. Because oh god all of the writers for Bayonetta 3 should lose their right to work as writers XD Also I would NOT be surprised if from all of the complaining of Bayonetta 3 plot, Platinum would take out of it that people didn't like the Multiverse aspect of it, and just ignore it ever existed while keeping on with Viola. Which is just downright dumb, since we play Bayonetta because of Cereza, and who she is and how she act, there's no other reason xD They tried the devil may cry 5 approach but it feels like they gave 1/8th of the thought Capcom did on that game for Bayonetta's plot and how to introduce and make us enjoy a new character before forcing it on us.

You are aware that Bayonetta 3 is a separate universe from the first two games. Bayo 3 is Brave (Little) Cereza from the Time Displacement. Making Bayo 3 an alternate universe or timeline. So it doesn’t fit in the timeline of Bayo 1&2.

Well, seeing how in-universe how the timeline gets messed up several times, I don't even know where Cereza and the Lost Demon fits.
@@yellohammer8571 regardless of how messed up it is in universe it should have been included. the lore of the bayo universe was greatly expanded upon with origins and its a shame that it’s missing from this timeline.
