Happy Birthday from a female who just turned 76 yesterday! I especially loved your phrase: “ aimlessness is good for inspiration and innovation”, something I have practised profusely and berated myself for just as much. By that and the rest of your wise and witty observations I feel at least partially vindicated, so thanks a lot! I’ll pass your advice on to my grandson who is having a difficult time at age 14. You are capable of teaching the old as well as the young!

I was always confident in my choice, but having Dr. Vaknin acknowledging the mindset feels rewarding. Thinking along these terms is often interpreted as laziness and frowned upon by society. However, in the context of self-preservation and a meaningful existence, it makes perfect sense. Happy belated birthday Dr. Vaknin! 🎈

These have given me a real sense of progress and an understanding of many often serious matters, though always lightened by your wit and humour. I say this even though I’m only a few years your junior and really should have known better about some aspects of life by now, having wallowed in my schizoid haze for some years - your help in making the unseen seen is very much appreciated.

I grew up in a home with a Narcissistic sibling and dated one. Your videos have helped me understand Narcs so much. I use to hate Narcs and now, I actually feel empathy for them cause I understand the disorder is a defense mechanism they need to get help for. They were hurt as a kid and this is how they keep others from hurting them again. I hope you have a wonderful day! And I hope you do something that brings you pleasure and happiness today!

Ah the closure. That is what Sam's teachings have gifted me. Arriving at closure can be an incredibly complex, convoluted, painful and long process and require gargantuan foundational shifts in thinking. It took twenty years but I got there. I owe that to Sam Vaknin. The greatest thinker in psychology ever and brilliant communicator. He eliminates confusion. Resolves the cognitive dissonance. The irony will never be lost on me.
