Why I Am Bigger Than MR BEAST - And Why is YouTube Broken

This video will be explaining how I managed to break youtube livestreams and find ways to break and exploit the youtube algorithm. In todays video I will explain how I managed to find a built in view bot on youtube that allowed us to fabricate live viewers and views out of thin air. I will also be explaining how this method has been kept secret on the platform allowing certain dodgy channels to use this secret youtube algorithm exploit to create potentially infinite views that are ultimately false but still provide an unfair advantage in youtubes natural eco system. Alongside this I will be revealing how we can use these exploits to trick the youtube ad system into providing us with more ads than we should have and consequently generate false ad views that still generate money.

What you have seen here today is part of a fantastic perfectly balanced series on youtube where I go from game to game and break them with wacky exploits to gain things like unlimited gold. If you enjoyed this then be sure to check out more. The style is similar to RT game and callmekevin in parts. A large influence on this series has come from Valefisk and The Killian Experience. I promise not every video is all about using youtube seo and algorithm seo to break youtube because sometimes its just a youtube bug that lets you generate infinite views and infinite money! Who needs youtube seo 2023 when you can just open a new tab!

  • I think there's some issues with distributed consistency with respect to the view count. They probably have multiple servers providing the service to viewers and have relaxed guarantees about consistency between them. Maybe that's part of why it can jump up and down as the different servers cooperatively realize they double counted a single account (or browser fingerprint?).

    @gregoryoakes2840@gregoryoakes28407 ай бұрын
  • I wonder if the ad revenue was actually paid out, I kinda doubt that. And on that note, you can freely talk about RPM/CPM without any issues. RPM was probably a lot higher, because streams (or long videos) have way more revenue from Premium, usually for me they are 50/50 with ads, while on normal videos premium makes up 10% at most. But back to the ad revenue, KZhead does I think it was 2 additional checks after ad plays whether it was legitimate or not. The first one happens over the day, and the second one happens after the month is over and until KZhead pays out the actual revenue. For most people this is usually not really different from, e.g. for February it was 0.05% for me (and funny enough higher than what analytics had shown), but I've seen extremes going up to 90% losses, simply because the video had very suspicious activity. Though this was at the time with the embedded video debucle leading to many channels losing monetization as well.

  • It just hit me that Spiff is a free pentester for KZhead. That's why he's never gotten in trouble for his exploits

    @AbsolXGuardian@AbsolXGuardian8 ай бұрын
    • It's not so much that he's a pentester. He's damage control. These exploits could have been front page news or on wikileaks. Instead, it's just a funny youtube video, and instead of castigating the company itself for being crap, SB puts attention on some pitiful, low rent grifters, and the overall tone is that these exploits are just an accident, and youtube is going to fix them. Give me a break. These exploits exist for a reason. KZhead wants content creators to be able to scam the system, because it's the companies paying for the adds who are getting scammed, not KZhead. And if you really want to go down the rabbit hole, the companies being scammed are fine with it, because they use the fake KZhead views/ad receipts/etc. to scam their clients and investors and etc. But what do I know?

      @cdubsoptional7849@cdubsoptional78498 ай бұрын
    • And come to think of it, they're obviously cooking the books. The algorithm does what they want it to, and revealing low rent exploits such as these, provides a smoke screen to hide the real fraud/criminal shenanigans going on. I had a boss who got fired for embezzlement. He was never happier than when he caught someone else stealing, because that meant he could shift blame/attention, and embezzle even harder tgan he already was.

      @cdubsoptional7849@cdubsoptional78498 ай бұрын
    • @@cdubsoptional7849 When advertisers figure this out they stop paying. And why is it obvious that they're cooking the books? You say it's obvious but give no reason. And no, the algorithm doesn't do exactly what they want it to. No one at KZhead knows how it works, it's over a decade old and no one person has been working with it for that time. It's a mysterious mess of spaghetti code.

    • I have a feeling that whats going on here is a bit more sophisticated than that. Google is notorious for it's "automation first" approach, because they really couldn't operate any other way at the scale they have. It could be that the view and like counts start in a less-strict, unverified state to encourage organic discovery, but these counts get vetted more thoroughly once they cross certain thresholds that would incur monetization payouts. I know I've heard creators talking about numbers dropping off of what they originally were by the time they get paid for the views.

  • KZhead properly ticks the viewer counts once a day. Until then, however many times you refresh counts as a "view". Those views would have reset on KZhead's next update tick. I suspect that opening a new window will count as a brand new view, however; and some phony views do not reset. I tried figuring out what views are counted and what aren't, while using the same IP and OS, and there is definitely an exploit to be found somewhere. The only thing I can think of is opening a new window will count as a full-view upon the viewer tick, but refreshing the page or opening a new tab does not count as a full view.

    @SBDdauntless@SBDdauntless7 ай бұрын
  • 14:30 - there is a simple fix to this problem. Just go to your amd/nvidia settings and set max FPS to innactive window to 1( like in 1 fps). That will save you ton of computing power in both gpu and cpu, and you can open 100 windows without any problem. Also, turn down the resolution to 122p.

    • It doesn’t directly cost them money, but it does lower the value of their ads. If livestream ads consistently get lower conversion because their consistently getting shown on screens that no one’s actually watching, then google can’t charge as much for them, so they absolutely do care about that.

    • KZhead has been helping regular people make profit off of big corporations through ad revenue. They also provide a space for smaller businesses to have a somewhat fair footing in marketing their products and services to a large audience that they wouldnt be able to reach otherwise. KZhead is not the enemy. The ad companies will likely try to have KZhead implement a system to prevent bots or exploits from raising ad view count so they know they arent paying for any wasted ad space, or they will just renegotiate with KZhead lowering the amount they pay for ad space since they dont know how many ad views are legitimate. If anything happens whatsoever, it will ultimately hurt creators the most.

    • @@danielfay8963When the ads don't do well, the advertising platform tells the advertiser their ad must not be that good. They make money either way. Advertising platforms are designed to make a target amount of money and profit, regardless of performance. I once bought ads for something from Google. They charged me more, because the ads weren't popular. If more people clicked on the ad, I'd have to pay less per click. I was paying over 10x per click compared to the "best" ads".

  • A few more details to note: only Chrome requires you to have all of the tabs visible for this to work. If you'd switched everyone to Firefox, and made sure they had disabled tab sleeping, you could have easily of pulled this off without having all of the tabs viewable. On Twitch, there was a limited time where a window had to be active to count as a viewer. This really sucked for anyone who watched a live stream on 2nd or 3rd monitor, and viewer counts tanked as a result, so the change was undone. This however, NEVER applied to Firefox, only Chrome. Still, in general, if you love your streamer on any platform you really should be using Firefox, as Firefox doesn't support a lot of this weird spying stuff that Chrome has added.
