  • Your observations on feeling uncomfortable in a six star hotel room reminded me of how Diana was suffering and felt like a prisoner inside Buckingham palace. Even the most luxurious environments can induce a feeling of suffering. Fascinating

    • Ok. But on average it's better to be in beautiful and cozy place than in one that isn't. And he mentions exaggerations as if they were the rule.

  • I recently had an extremely vivid dream where I was standing in front of monk sitting to the left of Ajahn Brahm. He was very tall and towered me in stature. My heart raced. I asked him, "do you know Thanisarro Bhikku?" to which he replied, "we all do." I woke up immediately. Thank you for visiting my dream, venerable.

  • Such a good reminder to not label people. All humans make mistakes and we need to remember humans are not mistakes, love this retrospective of many of your stories. Thanks you, Ajahn Brahm. Sadhu. Sadhu. Sadhu. Just want to add that your talks are so positive and gentle that while they contain great insight would be wonderful to fall to sleep to. Consider it an honor that folks fall asleep at times. Like the woman who fell asleep at the hall, your talks are safe as is the hall full of Sanga members.

    • Oftentimes we label and judge others because deep deep within we are afraid of seeing some of that within ourselves... It's true. Let's take homeless people or drug addicts. Deep deep weithin we know that they are just like us. That we are just like them. That we are just as fragile as they are. And we really don't like that. No judging. No labeling. Just see the humanity in everyone.

      @bastian6173@bastian6173 Жыл бұрын
    • @@bastian6173 Agree everyone is addicted, though not everybody takes drugs. Its exactly the same clinging. Sadly there is so much hurtfull stigma further probletemizing a disease wich should not be discriminated against. Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu to Ajahn Brahm for always seeing the person instead of just the disease and the prejudices people have about this disease. ❤‍🩹🙏🙏🙏

    • What is. your point? It sounds insulting. People repeat bible stories a thousand times a day. If you listen carefully, what he has to say is the same story, but there is a different lesson.

      @lolab56@lolab562 жыл бұрын
    • I find that sometimes repetition can reveal to us that we may not listen as well as we think we do. So, sometimes we hear something new, even in something old. :)
