Most Common iPhone Repair Mistake - True Tone Recovery without original LCD - JC Pro1000s
I was unable to find any instructions on how to recover True Tone without the original screen, so with a few hours of trial and error and my JC Pro1000s I found a way and thought I would make a video to help others!

Ever since I seen this video I got one of these machines at my work. now I restore/copy true tone on every repair that I do. Customers love it and I am the only in my town that does it! Thanks!
Apple: we'll block true tone function after screen replacement Hugh Jeffreys: hold my JC Pro 1000s

@@zephynithzenith2223 i hear this with michael's voice!
wait.... if Hugh Jeffreys wants Apple to hold *his JC Pro 1000s* tool, then what is he going to use to restore true tone functionality? and yes please recheck the joke before sending me to r/whoosh

I just completed an IPhone 5 screen replacement thanks to you and it was a great feeling when it turned on and worked. This video is out of my depth for now but I’m glad you brought it to my attention. I really like apple’s internal design over other phones but these restrictions they put on the consumer is disappointing. And thank you for your videos.
True Tone is for the 8 or later only
Musketeer Oliver no it is not the 7 introduced wide color. The x and the right introduce True Tone
Musketeer Oliver no only on the 8. 10 10s 11 11 Pro
@Musketeer Oliver I also remember seeing True Tone in the Control Center on my mom's old iPhone 7 Plus for some reason. My brain is lying to me.
Musketeer Oliver That 7 does not have true tone, my 7+ doesn’t have it
I never knew like actually
This is the kind of vídeos that I always wanted from you. Thank you
1:21 Slaps back of display "This bad boy can fit so much true tone in it"
"Apple hates him, click to see why!"

Man your a professional for this 💪🏻👊🏻

this channel is very inspiring and i also revived my iphone 6 by using these videos thank you very much
Finally! The video I've been waiting for!
Bro, you are a savior. Liked and subscribed. Keep up the good work. Thank you :) from Pakistan 🇵🇰.
Hey Hugh, since you didn't have the original screen what did you do differently (more complex). I would really appreciate if you could explain a little. New subscriber and I am loving your videos.
You’ve inspired me to do Apple device repairs which has saved me heaps of money by repairing my own devices. Now my classmates are giving me their old iPhones coz they don’t kno how to fix them so now I’m starting a collection :)
I love how you used the product red iphone. They are cool
It’s not official product but a custom replacement housing for an iPhone 6, product is iPhone 7 and later, fun fact, if you buy a product iPhone some of the money goes to fighting aids
@@tranqal Fun Fact: It is an official product. Apple only made it for a limited time on the iPhone 7 and 8.
CrypticAvenger 84 iPhone 6? He used gold and red iPhone 8
@@elon-jobs not an exclusive, it was on the iphone 11 and 12 and idk if im wrong but also the xr
@@yousufazmain It was only available for 6 months each on iPhone 7 and 8, but then they made it one of the permanent options on XR, 11, 12
The JC Pro1000S looks and functions like a piece of development hardware. Reminds me of the IS-NITRO-EMULATOR, which was a dev kit for the Nintendo DS back in the day.
This is really cool 👍👍👍
Hugh, thanks for great video. Does this work to transfer all data to copy/non OEM screens? My old tool only transferred data to other genuine OEM screens, not to copy screens. Your reply would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
The 7 never had True Tone. True Tone is iPhone 8 and later.
the 5s and later did
@@Jordyperson thats true tone flash, not display
@@Jordyperson Nope, only 8 and later.
@@Jordyperson no, the True Tone display was introduced with the iPhone 8. If you're talking about Touch ID, yeah, the 5s and later did until the X.
And True Tone flash was 5s and later (dual flash), but that's not the same thing
Hey Hugh, does the JC Pro 1000s work with iPhone 6s batteries? Thanks and I'm a huge fan of your restoration videos!
Love your videos Hugh : )
Love your videos
You earned a subscribe Bro 🖤✌🏻💯
Hope to see more JC Programmer videos
Hi Hugh, wondering if you could provide a place to get easy to understant info abou the JC Pro1000s. In particular, will this product be supported into the future and provide updates when new iPhones are released? As long as I have the correct module, will this get around the issue with the batteries now being tied to the phones? Thanks in advanced.
Great work Hugh!! You're determination & perseverance won out on the day Bravo! A treasure to us all & a credit to your species O:)
Love this good work
Very interesting Video!
You are the best youtuber
Great video
Very good video
thank you for the video, is this still working on iPhone 12 mini ?
Could you also theoretically do this with a replaced dot projector?
As you said nearly the end of the video, "...hinders the repairs..." if the time that Apple actually decides to hinder repairs completely, what would you do as a repair channel? Just curious.
Hi Hugh, how about the battery servicing issue for X series, thus JC programming also able to resolve it as well?
Hi, Did you try it with the new iOS 16.5 update. I got problems with this method after that update. Is there a workaround? Thank you
Best channel ever! Thanks for everything Hugh!!
Can you do a video showing if it’s possible to restore True Tone to an aftermarket LCD screen?
Always loving the vids! ♥️
I recently purchased a JC V1S as my cousin requested a repair of his cracked iPhone X display. I replaced it with an LCD rather than OLED screen, but the repair went smoothly and True Tone was restored. His father-in-law also had a touchscreen failure on his iPhone 8 the same week that I received my V1S programmer. Both phones were purchased at a local electronics store that buys and sells used phones. It appears that the iPhone 8 may have had its screen replaced before. Could that be the reason that I kept having write failures to the new iPhone 8 display, or could there have been a different problem with the quality of the aftermarket display? Otherwise, the screen looks fine and the touch functionality was restored. The only issue that I saw was the lack of the True Tone option. Since I couldn't interact with the previous touchscreen to open the settings, I don't know if that feature was working to begin with.
This is the first time I heard this I’ve been trying repair iPhones since the first one iPhone 2g never seen this problem with replacing the screen before
i bet this dude's fam is proud of him lol
Are you able to copy the Touch ID serial number and manually input it into a JC button if your original button is damaged like the flex cable?
Hugh Jeffrey's I have a iPhone X with activation lock and I would really want to know if you can remove it and if you can please tell me how much you would do it for
Hi look i was wondering if u would be able to repair my fitbit charge 2
Hmm... can the JC pro also work on making touch id work on replacememt home buttons?
Do you have to use the same front camera that’s paired to the same logic board?
Judging by the home buttons on the box, you're going to reprogram those home buttons so they work on any iphone?
I love True Tone.
Siq video just watched now cause I was busy today and wasn’t that the iCloud locked 8 from the previous video?
Thanks Hugh Jeffreys
Are you able to replace and use a new faceid module with this device?
Some functions disable automatically in several phone parts (only in iPhones) such as the display, battery, camera etc. Because the parts are paired with the phone.
Where did you get your protection glas for the backside of the phone?
Phone 8 Plus Vibrate Issues My home button gives me slight vibration feedback, but nothing else in the system does, flicking the mute switch mutes, but does not vibrate, done a factory reset, software update to see if that would help too. Any help from here on would be great. I think it could be 3 possibilities, either a damaged chip on logic board, charge port flex or vibrate motor. Any suggestions
Will this also work on iPhone X and later displays that don’t have the original screen?
Where can I pick up a JC PRO 1000S or a JC V1S? There is no purchase button on the website you give a link to...
When you mentioned something about the Taptic Engine not functioning properly, I too have had this occur. But, In my case, My taptic engine had came loose from the frame, and somehow the IPhone is able to tell that the taptic isn't seated correctly into the casing of the phone. Screwing the taptic engine in resulted in a now fully functioning taptic engine. Maybe it has something to do with increased power draw from the taptic when the whole thing moves as a result of the attempted vibration.
Hi hugh you mentioned a software that does the same thing. Can you please tell me its name?
Thanks for your video. Is there a more cost effective programmer than the JC? Only have a couple of phones to repair. Is the Qianli iCopy Plus for $30 any good?
Should work fine. Don't have one myself but heard good things about them.
Hugh, we’re you able to get the Touch ID working with those JC replacements?
Touch ID can only be reprogrammed by apple
Hey Hugh...... Does your iPhone x have a screen protector or is it really CrAcKeD??
can I reprogram the home button to get back touch ID using this thing?
How do you buy it the jc 1000s pro I can’t seem to find the add to cart or purchase button (I live in the US)
I just restore True Tone using same device you are using. Does it keep privacy ? We share our display information with that device.
May i ask? Did you use taptic engine iphone 8 gold and then reset taptic engine number with original taptic engine?
Hi Jeff, I got two black dot at the top right corner and one at below left corner of my Galaxy S8 screen; Any idea please how to get rid of them? I can't afford to get a new screen.
I wonder? Would it reprogram the home button to be able to be possibly replaced
will this also fix the important display message after replacing the screen?
hey hugh big fan here , i think we “fans” all got a question , which is do these water resistant seals real work aftet installing them and can you do a test to prove their efficiency ? thanks again (like this so it gets to hugh)
Those are for dust, once opened, you lose water resistance
No it doesnt make the phone waterresistant, but it will keep dust and small spats of liquid out. Also you should never trust your phones waterresistance, it degraded over time and also if the simtray is just sticking out 0,1 milimeter the waterresistance is gone.
supper thank you
Can this reprogrammer program replacement batteries to show in battery health app?
Any body notice it's JC PR01000s? Not JCPRO1000s? It's a zero, not an "O"
ha ha ha
😂😂😂😂
Yea I noticed lol
Thank you for your support,if you want comprehend other JC products, you can send gmail to us :jcprogrammerretails@gmail.com
Why don't you use full cover protection glass? It's only about 2 times more expensive, but it has full coverage and a lot better coating.
How did you open this phone in the first place? I have also stuck screw and I am unable to open it...
Question anyone,I already installed the new aftermarket screen on my iPhone 6s. I lost True Tone and touch ID but no biggie it’s our daughters play phone basically. No flex cables were ripped or misplaced. Everything is snug and properly installed. Someone said that Apple had started to pair the original screen with the logic board. So when I get the programmer, can I still remove the new aftermarket screen from my phone and then just put it on the programmer later? Thanks
Can the JC Pro 1000s pair home buttons to the iPhone 7 and 8?
Can fingerprints button also fixed by reprogramming the new button
How about try to reprogram the home button so that you can use Touch ID? (Use the same method)
Hello i justy found out about this true tone thing in iphone 7.. and i went to settings and i dont have it under the brightness tab.. my software is up to date and i purchased this phone brand new and the screen was never replaced.. is there any other factors that might make this thing missing from my device ? i would appreciate any reply thanks
What's the best screen replacement for 6S or 7 on Aliexpress ?
Good afternoon! Where to get the number of the original vibrator? When was the body new? I don't have an original taptic I have lost it for a long time? I bought from another phone and I have no vibration!
@6:55, I initially misunderstood what you said... I thought you were saying warranty was no longer recognized because of you tampering with the device. But alas, it was because it’s expired I’m assuming..? Anyhow, my reason for messaging is this, those warranty stickers that say “void if broken” don’t hold up in the US. OEM’s throw those on to get people to throw stuff away to buy new stuff. Well, that was challenged in a court of law and the diy enthusiasts won.
good one!
what screen protector were you using on this iphone 8?
Can you test to see if you can reprogram new batteries to see if the xs and up detect it as the same battery since it’ll say it’s not a verified battery
What's the app you need to copy serial numbers and cover board on computer, would rather do that then type in.
Thanks for the great video. How do you get the value for Code (Gauss sn:)? I programmed LCD and MtSN but didn't have Gauss SN thus no true tone. (iPhone 8p)
Hi, I know its 2 years ago but have you found this out? :DD
@@mr.malossi980 Gauss SN doesn't matter. you need to have right MtSN to enable True Tone. but if you replaced front camera module without saving ALS, you lose true tone even if you get right MtSN. but I can enable that if you want. you can PM me.
@@ifixsmartphone9079 So what would you need to do?
you are boss..i like all of your work..where are u from hugh jeffreys
The LCD got half ripped out by a new battery's adhesive. I tried to stich it with tape but the screen looks terrible. Is there a way to replace that tissue without replacing the whole LCD? It's an iPhone SE 2000 and I don't wanna mess with true tone settings.
Is there a way to bypass the iCloud lock with a reprogrammer?
Where do I buy the add on cards it’s not available on the website
What about True Tone & saving data from OEM screen to import to new screen?
I paid a premium for an iPhone 8 256GB for my wife, it looks perfect but Truetone is missing. Was given a trashed one with faulty home button, obvious poorly replaced screen (complete with red transparent film!) with Truetone working. I noticed condensation in that same spot when I opened it up too.
