Tulsa's Greenwood Art Project is the combined work of over 30 artists working to commemorate the centennial of the Tulsa Race Massacre and re-cultivate Tulsa's Greenwood and Black Wall Street. There will be experimental plays, poetry festivals, centennial walks, fire scuptures, hip hop album/documentaries, modern dance, '20s-era balls. Most events happening in May, but running from now through summer. The GAP Van, a mobile gallery, is the first to roll out. It's prompting all of Tulsa to create posters on Greenwood, as part of PBS' American Portrait series. Robert Reid of Gallery America talks here with Greenwood Art Project's Program Director Jerica Wortha about the van and this year's plan.
