  • I recently watched a video about a woman who used to make epoxy cups. She shared her experience using these strong chemicals and processing it(cutting, grinding, shaping, etc). She went on to say what kind of illnesses she developed while doing this activity. She developed chronic headaches, vomiting, respiratory problems, etc because she didn’t use the proper mask while dealing with epoxy and that she was mostly working indoors which was not well ventilated. Companies that make epoxy doesn’t really stress enough the need to use proper precautionary tools and how dangerous these kinds of chemicals are. Just want you to be aware.   • Starting up a small business is no joke. From getting the materials to actually working on it, not to mention only one person does all the picture taking and advertising. Then freebies and care tips and package boxes and thank-you notes have to be added, goodness these are the little things in life most people don't pay attention to 💕 keep up the good work

  • make sure to always wear protective equipment when using epoxy as epoxy can cause life-changing health problems if these procedures are not followed e.g wear a proper mask so that you don't breath in the harmful chemicals, gloves so that your skin doesn't come in contact with and do it in a well ventilated

    • Thanks I was looking for this. I saw people’s comments saying she was paying attention to hygiene and how great it was…it just shows people have no clue what this is about and it’s not really for hygiene but to protect ourselves. And I didn’t see she wore a mask, and that thin gloves don’t work really as resin would penetrate right through it. I saw some newbie KZheadrs working with resin without gloves. They would regret it when they develop allergy or cause damage to their health permanently. I was so shocked when I saw that no gloves no face mask working with epoxy resins. There many of them out there trying to look pretty in front of camera.

    • @@romellowy Try adding a small amount of E600 PERMINATE GLUE TO THE HOOK AND EYE AS YOU ARE SCREWING IT INTO EACH LETTER IT WILL NEVER COME APART AND GET LOST OR LOOSE IT after many uses specially on a Key Chain It Will Come un-attached

    • With resin handling, it’s not a matter of hygiene much but we wear gloves mainly to protect ourselves as resin is quite toxic. We also have to wear a mask and I have to fan out my room, wear latex gloves (not those vinyl one as resin would penetrate right through it), and make sure it never touches our skin or clothes as you can develop quite a bad allergy from resin. Many people don’t know it’s very toxic stuff for a maker. Now when we talk about skin care products or food products, those would require very hygienic environment like a lab and that’s not what she was doing here.

  • Hey, your work is amazing 👏👏 i noticed that you weigh the cup first and then add the weight of it , to make it easier, you can put the cup on the scale and then press : "Tare" it will delete the weight of it and you can weigh the resin so easily. Good luck

  • Glad you thought of your eco-friendly packaging. That makes a world of difference but what about everything else? Sometimes we don't realize how we influence others. Ask yourself if this is really eco-friendly?

    • Hi there! Thank you for that, I couldn't say if it is, but I did some research before starting my small business and just like what I have said in one of the comments, liquid epoxy resins in their "uncured" state are mostly classified as toxic and not "eco-friendly" because it can contaminate the environment especially to aquatic organism, while solid epoxy resins are generally "safer" than the liquid because once the epoxy resin is completely polymerized, it cannot contaminate the environment. However, it is still important to dispose and properly send it to your local waste collection center and label it as "hazardous" especially if it is still in a liquid state.
