Too right ♥️
Life in 1965 when i was 10 years old and this song came, life was great, being 65 in 2020,covid 19..not so great, but very very grateful to alive..
Never tire of the Tops, they were the tops, untouchable, peerless. Some of the best nights out 60’s,70’s,80’s,90’s
Glad to have been a part of this Era..as a baby boomer I can only say..what wonderful memories this group as other left impressions upon my heart and soul. I had such a crush on Levi..and was only a teenager back then. Oh the innocence.
These guys were superb 🤠
Born in 1949 and guess what? Motown was right smack dab in my teens and at 73 I'm STILL diggin' it. RIP MOSOGOTAM. Glad we still have his genius archives. 🎼🎵🎶🎙🎤🎷🎸🎹🎺🎻
Beautiful, elegant, eloquent, style. Voices to die for. Love 💘 to black America from England 🇬🇧
One of my favourite vocal performances of all time, Levi Stubbs lays the truth out bare, time after time, song after song. Levi Stubbs is THE MAN.
Masterpiece!!!! Who ever re-arranged this melody has class and exquisite taste.
Mosogotam, his real name is John Perrone and I heard a couple years back he passed on.
@@JeannieMitchellMyers Yeah. Unfortunately a Covid victim. Born in 1949, he left us on 4/5/2020. We are fortunate to have his body of work to continue to watch and listen to. I JUST LOVE HIS MIXES! Being born in 1949 myself, he and I lived through this music at the same time, and I truly can feel the work and love he put into these mixes. My biggest gripe about 60's music was they were too damned short (
@@brucestaples4510 Well said Bruce.John was the same age as me and often commented on his work and he never failed to reply .He has left an amazing legacy in his extensive mixes , and since he passed on , the number of subscribers has multiplied as new generations discover his wonderful work. They continue to give me enormous pleasure and are often revisited , usually played through my vintage high-powered ' Hi-Fi ' system to gain the maximum benefit .I grew up loving Motown music and it seems uncanny that all my favourites John added his magic to and as you rightly say they were just too damned short until John worked his magic - God bless him !.
@@brucestaples4510 That is so sad. It's no wonder there was no new extended versions from him for a while. May his soul be resting and peace. This is indeed very sad and unexpected news that I just found out today while scrolling through the comments.
Levi, the greatest of the greatest. He had many opportunities to go solo but he always maade it clear that it was Four Tops and not One Top. Man what a voice.
just behind Marvin for me but I generally agree, Levi was up there.
I totally agree with you. We have had some great voices, Marvin Gaye for example but for me Levi was the best of the best. He was so very loyal and had his principles along with his love for his 'family'. They were fabulous together and I think it was 42 years they had? I love the Four Tops so much.
Such a Amazing Group!!! My Mom Played This One Over And Over!!! Thank's Mom💋
@@hannahgilliam3026 U r of the old skool and good times. What is your favorite 4 Topps song. The tribute to my man Levi brought tears to my untearful eye. Miss the times that go with the music.
@@hannahgilliam3026 Levi-The Greatest. I play the Topps everyday. Where do you live?
I love the Four Tops more than any other group and Levi had the best voice over and above anyone else. I really miss them as a foursome, the way they just came together showed they were meant to be, they really were "Brothers" . The loyalty and respect they had for each other, their families and their fans. The Four Tops were and always will be "The Very Best" .
Most talented Four Tops...Had the pleasure of Meeting them...Levi was such a Gentleman. Rest in the Paradise of Peace with KING!
That is what it was all about ....Awesomeness...💕❤️💕
Joy of a lifetime singing with the Four Tops........ I will always love them
This is pure soul. That's what I'm talkin' about.
Mosogotam, you've got a real God Given Talent for remixing. Keep up the great work.
@@waynepearson3297 Unfortunately, Mosogotam passed away from covid last year. May he RIP
Yeah bro
Saw them as 14 years old,now in my sixties and the still sound great
I can't get enough of this group I get so emotional listening to them
I miss feel good music like this!
Fantastic music!!! Just AWESOME Rythem, OUTSTANDING STRONG VOICES, and LYRICS that actually can be easily understood. Beautiful voices and Instrumentals in the Back-Ground.. And they looked SHARP, when performing in concert, in those matching business suits.... Even the audience , who were very young people to any other age, looked good in THEIR suits and business outfits... Pure CLASS... This whole event was AWESOME.... How I would LOVE to go back in time, and witness all of this...
Words just can't explain how this music heals my soul. I'm so blessed to have heard the 45 be released and at 65 I'm still loving it.
I'm 70 and it still chills me !!!!!!!
Yes, yes this song has meaning
Double that
@@paulsutton4084 I feel 40 when I hear this
I was born in 1955 too.
There has NEVER been a better feel good, sing as loud as you can and step dance song than this....literally EVER
Men with voices and harmony. What's better than that?
I was eight years old when this song was released, even to this day, it still play's a huge part in my life. This song was written in heaven. Over six minutes of pure joy. Love it.
You got that right....PURE JOY, real Soul
Chris Hall I was the same age and with sweet memories in my heart that aches in this days worlds tragedy I can pine to wish myself right back into the time these songs came out in the sixties.
Aww you sentimental guy good on you son
This era of soul music stirs the spirit....damn I miss it!
Another gem performed by Levi Stubbs and The Four Tops written and produced by the incredible team of Holland Dozier and Holland.❤️
I watch footage of life in 1965 and it looks like America was a chaotic place. But it was so peaceful and pure for a kid in those days. This music reflects what life was like back then . Just like today’s music reflects how things are today. But we can escape the nonsense for a moment just by letting Motown spark memories.
I was a young kid when this came out. My brother was on his way to Vietnam.. Sigh..I miss those days..😢😔
The Four Tops were part of the peak of the pop music culture. Great extended version... thanks.
MOTOWN in the 60's........YOU CAN'T TOUCH THIS.....What a decade still listening 60 years later.
YOU WILL LEARN WHAT IT MEANS TO LIVE WHEN YOU GET THE OPPORTUNITY TO HEAR LEVI STUBBS. JUST ONE OF THE GREATEST IN MY LIFETIME. MAY GOD BLESS HIM AND THOSE GREAT SINGERS WHO SHARED THEIR TALENT AND ENHANCED THE SOUL OF ALL FANS WHO LOVED THEM FOR THEIR CONTRIBUTION.
Levi Stubbs had one of the best voices in pop music. He and the tops have always been one of my favorite singing groups and I can remember when I saw them in concert in the very early 2000s (2001-2002) and when they walked on to the stage Levi was limping really bad and I felt so bad for him because this was the beginning of his health issues. What a group and what a lead singer!
Wow. To hear those strings, and the voices. Wonderful.
Watching them performing was mind blowing 🎧🎶💯
As a kid I was a bit strange when it came to records. I listened from the back to the front. The smallest details mattered. So yeah I heard those strings and horns first. I’d play it over and over and isolate a single instrument. So I know full Motown instrumentation even more than the lyrics at times. Ha
Love the Tops! Ever since I listened to them for the first time at my cousin Angel's apartment in South Philly! Where I grew up also. They are my favorite group from the 60s. The Four Tops are the Best! Dr. Carlo Vitola
I'm 75yrs old now but these tunes keep me young, Levi's wonderful voice along with the other 3 Tops bring back so many memories of the the best of the 60's musical decade.
the music is clean and vibrant true song writing back in the day. today's songs and music is shit. radio stations won't play songs like this they don't want people happy anymore
The music alone takes me back to my teenage years growing up in Cleveland Ohio in the 1960's. It was great times then. Not just for the music, but for Cleveland too. The extended versions are a hit in itself. The videos of how we dressed and our hair styles back then bring back wonderful memories too. This work is a A+. A big thanks!
As a kid ( no lie!) I used to think Motown songs came from heaven or somewhere magical. Nothing sounds like a Motown record. It’s not RnB it’s black pop. Intentionally! Berry sold music to the world not the hood. People had a problem with that but now look. He won! He was right. This song has so many beauty points before you even get to the vocals. The main one that not many people get is the musical mind of the bass player James Jamerson. He sparked so many ideas throughout the chain. From arrangers to musicians. I’d wait till the end just to hear him break formation and change those last 3 notes. Then the song ends. So beautiful I can’t describe it.
Nothing like it,,, my kind of music,, even at 73 years old,,, grew up with them
Ditto! At almost 72. 🎶😊
This is my favorite Four Tops songs! It brings back memories of the good old days.
Can never be replaced, this was music , to heal you , how privileged to grow up with this music around you ❤️
the best of the best ther will never be anyone with their solid unity - Levi was fabulous rip

This is just an amazing song, even my teenage kids love this. Classic!!!

Your extended version really highlights the beauty of this most achingly beautiful masterpiece. Thank you from this old soulie.
Ah, the memories from that period abound. It's beautiful hearing these tunes again. It's 2021, and it's still "hip".
I love watching Lawrence Payton in the background...boy was he giving it...and oh this was and still is my jam...from an all time favorite group..whew!!!

In my opinion the best song ever recorded!!!! Knew this from the first time I heard it in 1964. Wonder what my kids will be listening to 52 years from now. Hopefully still the Four Tops!!!!!
I just heard this song for the first time this year, and I love it... thanks to KZhead, younger generations have a chance to appreciate this marvellous music. It ages like fine wine. Must have been amazing to hear this sound when it was fresh in ‘64... did you first hear it on the radio?

What else can I say but this is timeless good ole fashioned feel good music 🎶 from 1965-2020 and still sounds as good as it did when they first recorded this ❤️ if not better compared to music of today this is definitely a amazing blast from the past and besides how can you hate a catchy love song 💕 💗 ❤️

Whar a BEAUTIFUL extended tune to Listen to👍👍👍❤❤❤👍👍👍
Thank you a lot, Rajesh!!
No one can match the incomparable voice of Levi Stubbs. A crushing loss to Motown fans when he passed. Thanks for the opportunity to listen to him at his best.
Thank you, Christopher!!!
yes....saw him on a motown or music special - he was in a wheel chair - very sad to see such a vital man brought low. he was in tears at the ovation he received and so was i. ;-(
I agree that Levi Stubbs was one of the greatest voices of all time. Smokey Robinson is another great, the extended versions have been wonderful. Been listening to these guys since the 60s. I'm 64
@@mosogotam You've made my life better by me discovering them. The mixed are perfect I wish these were available for purchase? How about an extended on Marvin Gaye's "YOUR UNCHANGING LOVE? Thanks again.
YES INDEED AMEN
I never get tire of hearing this song . True beautiful lirics harmonies
So grateful to have this music. Even though Levi is gone, his voice lives. Finger poppin' and groovin' to this great stuff. thanks for posting.
I love the Four Tops. I met Levi Stubbs as a teenager. He was as funny as a professional comedian. I'll never forget what he told me that day. He said he had the best life because he was able to travel the world with his 3 best friends. He felt he never had a job because he was always having fun. When you watch them perform, their friendship is so apparent. Levi purposely avoided looking towards Obie, Duke, and Lawrence because he would not be able to help smiling and fouling his performance. This television taping was likely in London. Notice the joy in the faces of the young viewers. There are many lessons here. Find the ones that resonate with you!! Namaste
My God! Thanks for the awesome remix of one of the greatest songs of all time. Four Tops! The Masters of Musical Magic!
I used to hear this playing in my backyard at night and felt so sorry for whoever was playing it. It's a horrible feeling when you LOVE someone much more than they love you. That's the devastating reality of it.
Still going strong after all these years! Wonderful!
One of the All Time Classics and groups. Even though they have sadly passed away, thankfully we will always have their wonderful music and it will bring back wonderful memories. Love your new version.
THE FOUR TOPS ARE ONE OF MY FAVORITE GROUPS GROWING UP. MEMORIES SIP LEVI STUBBS

Take a bow.....This is one fantastic version of a Motown classic.

Penfold Smith Beautiful dedication. If this was his kind of music, then he was obviously a man with a great taste in music and with much class. May he rest in peace, and may you one day reunite with your dad and reminisce of the good old days! GOD bless!
What can one say, John? Tops!!
Wonderful memories from these old time hits. They were one group I did not see. Levi Stubs was a great singer and heart throb.
If you ever saw the 4 Tops in person and heard their songs that would keep your world together, you would know how much love they shared and gave us!
The Four Tops were and are the greatest Motown Group! Levi Stubs was my inspiration, Duke was my steady handle! Miss the Four Tops, but Duke has kept them alive! The late and great Levi Stubs! Makes my 60's worth while! And Duke and the kin have kept the music playing and paying it forward!
