Enjoyed thoroughly. It would be lovely to have the grave stones that are hard to read properly cleaned. It would really honour those who are remembered.
Cleaning headstones is a whole KZhead genre. It would be lovely to see the memorables revealed again (on a nicer day).

There is spray that can be used and it will come right off with just a little wiping. The Daughters of American Revolution in America do this kind of volunteer work for some cemeteries anyway, if they are able. Cannot right now think what the spray is called but can look it up online am sure. It should do a lovely job!

The watercolour of the library is magnificent. She had an eye for design, colour, atmosphere and nuance, with one of the most difficult media in which to paint. Other than what appears to be a coffee table (centre left) being 'off' in its perspective, the draughtsmanship for such a busy room is superb.

Julie, thanks for the "family tour" of your husband's ancestors and the visit to the family plots at the Brampton Church. You need to make another video at the church and clean up the gravestones. It would be marvelous for your dissertation to have pictures of the family plots. Congratulations on your appointment as President of the Historical Society. Just one more thing added to your list of involvements. LOL

haha - I noticed too. There are always a lot of repetitive words and filler phrases maybe due to nervousness or maybe to make the episode longer?
Would these be placed on the walls for each Earl’s order of succession? Not sure if that’s the plan, but it would make pointing them out on tours easier.

What you are doing with Mapperton is nothing short of amazing and I am grateful that you share it with us. Loved the post on the currant jelly making. I grow only red currants and laughed right out loud as you were scraping the boiled over jelly into the jelly glasses. That is me! But, never fear, there is a solution! The watercolor is so lovely. Make sure the glass is UV protective glass as watercolors are very fugitive and colors can fade easily. We have an old watercolor painted by an ancestor of my husband and unfortunately we didn't check the glass for UV and some of the colors have already faded. Such an interesting grouping of paintings and to be able to return home to Mapperton is wonderful!

not so wonderful for the school as the walls become bare and the house deteriates more. i hope that everyone understands that this is an amazing thing that they do go back to there rightful owners at mapperton but a shame as it strips hinchingbrooke house of its chariter and appeal to the public

@@lyndarichardson4744 The school is a public-owned school, a consequence of this is that the UK government does not give the school extra funding for the house, so funding has to come from elsewhere eg visitors, weddings, events, donations, etc. Without this income, the maintenance cannot be paid for. similar to how they pay to maintain Mapperton

I recently bought a gorgeous and giant 1920s portrait so I’m now totally obsessed with portraits. The good ones aren’t easy to find! So glad they can be welcomed back to Mapperton!

Thank God this family has Julie to help out with all if these projects . This place is a ton of work and takes someone who is committed to the end result. Luke could have married a woman who complained and whines all of the time about being pinned down in one place and having to work on keeping the estate profitable in order to pay all of the huge expenses. Keep up the good work ! She is a real go getter.

Congratulations on becoming the president of the historical society, you're going to have access of a wealth of information there as well, but you'll bring in more information as well. Delighted that the portraits are still own by the family and the collection wasn't entirely sold off at auction. Remember (if you haven't already done so) when you receive your master's degree and walk across that stage to wear/have something that belongs to Countess Alberta. Hope you make a video about it as well!!!

I visited Huntington in 2018 for work and it’s a lovely English town. I even drank a pint or two at the Falcon at 9:44 mark.

I’m just starting to watch this video and noticed the fading on Alberta’s tombstone. There is someone on social media who is doing gentle power washing of gravestones and telling their life stories. It’s very cool to watch. So it’s nice to know it’s possible to remove some of the accumulated dirt and debris from these gravestones. It might be worth checking into. 😊

I really loved seeing you go get the paintings. As a painter myself not only would I love to see more about the paintings within the collection, but particularly those done be women artist and/women subjects within the paintings. So much history of women, both past and present gets overshadowed by all the moments to men. I hope that you will consider this in your future programming. I glad that you decided to focus your research on Alberta. We desperately need to remember the actual lives and their circumstances of women of our past. Thank you for such a wonderful video as always.
