Televised training is the best way to put this Volta a Catalunya
You mean to say that no is actually racing? Idk Nic, that’s not really fair to everyone in the competition
I wouldn't call stage 2 televised😂
yep and thats what the giro will look like. Pogi doing intervals
Gonna be like this in every race until he races vingegard, roglic, or a good remco
@@AP-wd6dv Yeah beating vingegaard over 3 weeks is gonna be tough especially after having ridden the giro.
6:32 UAE Team manager on the headphone: "Please pretend that you had to dig deep to make it seem close"
"Televised Training" is probably my favorite title you've ever made 😂👏👏👏
Never knew you were watching the lanterne
Definitely the leanest pogacar has ever been. Some form going into the giro
Absolutely. Looking seriously good
last year he had quite some weight on him for a gc contender. now hes scary thin
He got cold at the end of both climbs, yesterday he was almost shivering.
@@brulsmurf how much has he lost?
He kinda lost 2 to 3kg
Hes looking so good cant wait for this years TDF battle!
me too
Pogi!
Just hope that both avoid injury in the build up🤞 Vingo ‘crushed’ Pogi pretty convincingly last year but maybe the latter’s accident earlier played a major part in that🤔
@@hisdadjames4876the level the GC tdf requires is perhaps the highest of all cycling, one percent less "perfect" and you lose minutes
a grand tour is something different than 1 or 5 days of racing though. Lets hope the team fixed the last week dip.
What the hell happens when Landa turns up at the Tour and cooks Remco in the second week? 😅
was so good to see Landa cooking today, he was really strong. Let that man into the kitchen ! Tadej of course in stellar form, too. I know it's early but I do think he's taken a step up compared to last year, it's making me very excited for that TDF battle.
Comparing to Paris Nice, I wonder if Landa is stronger than remco atm, in the mountains. I'm not sure Remco would have been ahead of Landa today if they weren't team mates of course.
100% agree. Landa is also probably a more consistent climber than Remco (as we saw last year in the vuelta)
@@Dieterdde I think about this as well - I think it's hard to judge this early of course but I do think Landa is so, so strong especially in the third week. That performance on Angliru from him is always on my mind.. I could see them trying to keep Landa up there in GC while using him as superdomestique, much like UAE did with Yates last year, and for the case that Remco isn't as consistent
@@Dieterdde Remco still seems on that strange thing where he comes a bit overweight in order to maximise his performance in the time trial, and then hopes to lose the extra weight before comes mountain time. Didn't work last year but maybe I see how it could work on a three weeks race, but there's no way it works in a one week race. Although, I think he is more likely equipped than Landa in mountain too just because of his ability to explode. Landa might be better in steep gradiants and all that right now, but the new meta seems to be to be able to have quick insane bursts and sustained efforts on long climbs, and to be able to go all out in the last kilometer in easier climbs to put time into the rest of the field, and I don't see Landa being explosive enough to compete with the Vingegaard/Pogacar/Roglic in that type of efforts, at least not as well as Remco.
It seems like Pog is providing his answer to the recent Jonas V training ride (race) from Spain. I hope that everyone stays healthy for a true showdown at the TdF.
It's crazy how far ahead Pogi and Jonas are compared to Rogla and Remco. Right now they're in another league. Hope the latter get better by TdF otherwise it will just be the Jonas vs Pogi show...
Dont sleep on remco bro
Riight. He's gonna finish the Tour more than 3 min behind the two big dogs. @@martinhh763
@@martinhh763 I'm a Remco fan but I'll be happy if he stays within 10 minutes at the end in TDF.
Bad omen
Almeida is being a very good domestique for Pogacar on the mountains. Will be good for winning the Tour
Thats just peak commentary when Landa drops Kuss.
Seeing him split away so easily always makes me want to ride my bike. Dude is a machine.
5:13 “and Landa’s starting to cook” What a line
Gives me chills tbh
that spanish accent on point, too lol
I'm starting to think the giro won't affect him much. Given his competition there he can do a couple of stages hard then just sit on it. Once he has a 2 mins or so the rest of the field won't bother attacking for 1st, it'll be like his 2nd TDF win. So 2 hard efforts and 19 days of training for TDF.
I said this yesterday. Get past Stage 10 with a strong lead and the rest of the stages will be recovery rides.
Nice to see Landa doing so well. 😍
Pogi: nice tempo ride today
Everytime we get a profile shot of Landisimo on a climb I expect him to give the "i'm in danger" side eye
Pogi lookin leeeean. Also, wow! the production value of your videos keeps getting better and better, so thankful for all the work you put in to bring these to us fans!
You have to be afraid of a guy who is unwilling to sacrifice the sanctity of his data to the celly. "Lemme just hit lap real quick so I don't dip in to zone 1 at the end there..."
I don‘t understand what you are talking about.
@@Lotschi unlucky
@@ReegusReever can you explain it to me?
@@Lotschi not lucky
He didn’t want the celebration where he was putting out no power to affect his race power data.
Tadej is the king 👑 Super nice to see Landa cooking as well
Tadej hasn’t won the TDF past 2 seasons. How is he king?
Tadej is the clear better rider. Cycling is much more than GC in tdf@@chivacetana
@@chivacetananot only not won, but got “wrecked”. That’s an important consideration in any “king” discussion imho.
It's really a sight to see one pro making the other pros look like absolute amateurs
A worrying sight.
@@user-je3lt9cf6i keep in mind that he's performed at a very high level for most of his career (so far).
Love the coverage and commentary. You are my "go to" for following major cycling events. Keep up the great work! Tadej either has the cycling world's best climbing poker face or he is just made different when it comes to attacking climbs. Wow.
thank you so much for the videos, invaluable, i love them ... thank you 😀👍
Great vids mate. Always making the races entertaining.
What's the thumbnail photo showing pog with an arrow pointing to his bars/hands in reference to?
Harper doing well at 5th overall
landa was cooking today
As always, Lanterne is a pro - really enjoy your recaps, especially given you know your stuff. Best wishes and thank you!
What is the red circle around the hoods/hands on the thumbnail for?
I think the Giro was a wrap the moment Pog announced taking part. All he really needs to do is stay upright on the bike, and there shouldn't be too much competition.
He has been so good during his training sessions this year, both in Italy and Spain.. I wonder just how good he will be when he finnaly races a official race like Giro
Juiced off his biscuit, it’s like going back in time!
Incline to agree with you, if it was one or two stages ok but he is having a laugh every day
Absolutely the world’s best rn. That is some power riding done in style.
Pogi👏you're the best
Landa is flying on that "Remco bottles" ;-)
great vids
Imagine if there was no rider like Vingegaard. Cycling (one or three weeks race) would have been so boring. That is what we all feared after the tour 2021 (Pogacar demonstration).
What does it help when they don't participate in the same races other than TDF?
@@05xpeter we then have the biggest race in the world (tour de France) which is disputed.
Big like for the " No parece bueno, vamo" HAHAHAHAHA love u bro
LETS DO IT IN CAPSLOCK COZ HES SO AMAZING RIDER.. AND CANT WAIT FOR THE TDF GOOO POGIIII
Looking forward to the giro
Pogi is even sharper this year 😮
Both Pog and Jonas are on another level this year. The TdF is going to be amazing. Roglic unfortunately looks to be on the decline and Remco is just not good tactically and doesn’t have the team to support him.
Remco's problem is that he lacks the consistency in 3-wk races. And you are right he is a bit too punchy and too trigger-happy sometimes. On a good day Remco might be on the same level as the two gods, but that's like 10% of his days. While the other two are almost always on that level. Of course Remco is extremely good at TT, but the other two are not too bad either...
Your title sums it up well. the way i see his schedule he won't get any significant resistance until LBL and TdF, meaning Giro should be his if he stays upright and does not go too crazy for 3rd week in the Alps. did Landa and Soudal make a mistake for even pacing this dude from 15km to go to 7,4km when he finally looked in his power meter and said I had enough of you Mikel?
I do not think so. To me it seemed like the plan was to make it hard on every one else and secure second place, with a little test of Pog just in case, but not worried if he was still strong.
They're not only racing tadej, the fight for top 10 is still on so you can't just let uae do everything just because the guy is miles ahead of everyone else.
This man is a machine. Undoubtedly the best. If WVA could climb and compete in GC's he'd be in the conversation.
what?
EPO
What is bro smoking 💀
Did you just wake up from a 2 year coma?
@@tobiasdencker853 some big doinks
I have said for years that Pogacar would be getting better (while winning Monuments and the TdF) and people poo=pooed that sentiment. Well, here we are and Pogi is a GIANT.
Bro this is vingegaard and pogacars normal level
Title was savage 😂
Good to see Landa doing so well. I was hoping Kuss could repay him & bring him back to Pog 😉
Masterful title line there, bravo 😂
LANDISSIMOOOOOO
Kuss did almost fly to Landa. I guess he did overshoot a lot there …
Will you be doing LRCP for this race?
Pretty impressive. Landa also in great shape. But isn´t it too early for Pog to peak? It´s nice to win the Volta Catalunya, but Giro und TDF are still some time ahead. Will his form fade from now on or even improve? Maybe he takes a break after de Ronde von Vlaanderen.
Fitting to do this in the stage from Sant Joan of the Badasses.
Judging by his last performances he is going to get Green, KOM and Yellow at the next Tour "From another planet"
Nah, taking green would waste energy he'll need to beat Vingegaard
ok and what's jonas winning? did you see him at Tirreno?
Or something...
@@bbuuttercupp Jonas will probably create his own competition on the moon
I don't get why everyone still saying this every season... Pogi seems very strong but wasn't so easy today as he said, nobody could realy compete with him on this race so it doesn't mean so much. Sure he's from another planet and only him can perform like this during every race of the season, almost on any route. But Jonas is from another planet too, has proved he's the best on a 3 weeks race and he will not compete the Giro. So there's no way pogacar can be in shape to beat Vingegaard in France this summer.
More Mikel Landa impressions please
What happened to Bernal? Fluke day? Crash kicking in from stage 1? I'm really hoping he's back to full form this year, I want him in the mix with the cyborgs.
He was similarly off the pace yesterday as well. I do think his form is building nicely though. I'd really like to see him win races again.
5:10 “double wrapped in case of too much buritto filling”
Good dopage 🙂
I'm missing last year's Roglic vs Remco.
More suspense at least
Pogacar is going to teach Vingegaard a lesson at this TdF. HE IS GOING TO SHOW THE WORLD WHO IS THE GREATEST BIKE RIDER OF ALL TIME.
Pogi and Jonas are so far ahead of everybody else it’s kinda wild. I really don’t think Remco or Primoz are close to them at all, even though they are probably the “best of the rest”.
i concur
Whenever Remco receives hate, he proves the opposite, we wil see...
This is not hate its just the truth@@gaetancroes3539
That kuss acceleration was similar to vuelta stage 13.
Bro is winning the giro by 5 mins
ya just stay upright and don't go to crazy for the 3rd week. i am only interested in LBL and TdF now for any resistance. otherwise watching i donno nice countryside and ciclamina jersey battle LOL
the goat pogi
Pog is absolutely insane atm, this is phychologic intimidation for Tour de France GC opponent.
acting like vigegaard isnt as good rn
Looking lean!
you made me laugh with you on that GIRO competition comment
To strong🎉
Man last year was so much fun battles and now it's so one-sided
Harper is flying
Televised training ahha yeah, the giro will probably be similar. I hope he will dare to do interval sessions during the giro
Pog looks like he’s at peak now Tour is months away….
Yeah so many delusional people saying he is going to win the tour. If anything, his form right now is promising the exact opposite of a good Tour. Especially since he goes to the Giro aswell.
@@kolbenfresser9108 calling someone delusional is harsh word. i think too long of a peak for tour excellence
How was Visma-LAB not allowed in a break like that? It wouldn't change the outcome of the stage but that type of break is perfect for one of their riders. I hope this is just teams improving their tactics and not dumb decisions.
Sepp Kuss doesn't like the wet and cold?! Durango, CO USA his hometown has no joke weather (and altitude) and he's a past Nordic ski champ #GCKuss
Landa looks great. Quick-Step probably got him at a bargain price.
It seems like the only one who could currently beat Pogacar might be Vingegaard. It’s mad that they don’t really race against echt other before the tour.
Best title ever! 😂
Wout Poels being better than every INEOS Rider is lovely too see.
Landa Vuelta podium?
Wheres S.Kuss????
I think Vingegaard is taking a little longer to fall asleep these days...
Swear everyone was saying the same thing last year
Pogi will never win another Tour de France
Why? Pogacar is just reaching his peak earlier because he's focusing the Giro... this year's Tour will be less close than last year, unless Vingegaard get into trouble... and Jonas was also impressive in Tirreno. I think Pogi wasn't so easy there as he said in interview, and his competitors were not so strong.
Nah, Vinge would put 10 minutes into them
Acting like vingegaard havn't got 7 wins this year
Pog: "It's more like a hobby for me."
Televised Training haha He definitely won the Exercise Competition
i feel like kuss is doing it this too often. attacking, looking super strong but going over the limit. even when he won in vuelta (stage 6 or whatever) last year, he was super strong when he attacked and in the end lenny and somebody else took time back on him a little bit if i remember correctly
Did they miss the Hypoxic chamber training sessions? Perhaps they missed those parts.
Weather is cool perfect for Pog in heat tho Vinge gaard is too good
Televised training 😂
Today Landa had vibes of his former self.
Televised training 😅
He is mr roboto
Pog droped Land just by pushing a solid Tempo.
Free Landa
Very good performance until now. Between 2nd and 10th there is no much time difference
Dude is super healthy right now. Look at his skin. It’s super clear, no acne, no cold sores. Look last year at the tour and other times when he’s looked more human. Skin health is over body health/immune system health. This guy is legit dangerous and at full capacity right now. Jonas wouldn’t beat him in this current state. Could be an interesting season if he wins the giro with very little effort let’s say giving a 6-7/10 effort
Giro about to be the most boring 3 week race in history
Agreed. I was just thinking that. This is the most boring GT usually in my opinion but this year it's going to be especially boring.
It was just a training ride for Pog
He, and other riders often turn off the headunit/end the ride before the tops of climbs so the efforts don't appear on Strava leaderboard segments (at least I'm well educating guessing). Even with power hidden, some riders just don't like sharing anything on strava
They can also not share their ride on Strava, no?
@@adshdhhhd7783of coruse. Tadej posts hiding some data, but he posts. some riders just stopped (like VDP). I remember after the TdF Stage 9 Puy du Dôme climb trying to nerd out on the strava data i could but not all riders' finish times were captured for the KOM Leaderboard, and some rides were "shorter"
To not enhance doping suspicions?
@@Lotschi i've always assumed the hidden power and HR data was to not tip off their abilities / limits for other teams vs doping. so for ex if you were able to see that x rider was doing on a climb 7wpk and was in the red HR, or they could only max HR for a certain amount of time, you could use that to your advantage to break them. sure this is the tactics that teams and riders do now, but with if you had data on the competition it would be "easier" to plan
@@mstrasser yeah, I get that! It makes perfect sense!
If Landa and Kuss would just try harder! they would have catch up with Tadej and perhaps work him over!
He better not break my heart again, like the old school fuckers did.
DUH DHUH DUH DUH MAX VERSTAPP. hmm i mean tadej pocagar
Who is this kid in the interview, 😅
