A year later it leaves early access and is an amazing game
Hey, you should do a follow up on the 1.0 release. It's awesome.
Wow... You reached the final boss of the lava level... I was barely able to get past Meg... Anyways, I played Bastion and Transistor a little so I knew what I was getting into, but I didn't expect to get that hooked. Like 5 hour session hooked. Granted this is what happens when I play a rogue-lite if you haven't played one in a long time. I've had a great fun with the gameplay side of things (strategizing based on what is in the room and what powers and weapon I currently have) but I was so impressed by their story/lore implementation. Not only a good breather, but also a good motivator for your actions. The lore hunting with Ambrosia was also a good thing. Your Early Access worries are justified. But I given the genre it makes sense. See all the early access success stories and most of those games are open ended games with lot of systems (RimWorld, Factorio, Kenshi) or games with immense variation (most rogue-like/lites). Much better to take feedback and addressing issues than shooting arrows in the dark and hope they hit. I feel that people forget about the successes from Early Access and keep on citing failures as if nothing good came out of it. Also they somehow have the same expectation as a full release when that is not the programmes purpose.
If it like Baston combat, with the on the move style of Transistor(just without pauses), like fuck man! That sounds really hard, which is all the more fitting for it to be a rougelite for overcoming a large challenge, for that oh-so satisfying victory. And using Greek mythology to attach tartarus for rougelite's tropes of a replay-loop is fucking genius idea, eat your heart Persona 3! Also kudos of having the composer finishing your homework, Fox, it was a funny bit. ;D Anyways. Great work man and have a good day, Fox!
Take a shot everytime Foxcade uploads, damn it i'm sober
Another great review. Good job fox~
Man i really love hades and really love foxcade. I never knew that you already made a vídeo about it. You NEED to talk about the v1.0. Love the chann el
I’m a big fan of Super Giant games but still managed to miss this project. Sounds interesting so I’ll give it a look when it comes out. Cheers Fox!
Awesome work!! Keep it up.
Supergiant is the GOAT indie dev so when they say we are going early access I trust them.
GOAT?
Dynasty Star Greatest of all time
@@seunak4951 ahhhh okay, I give that award to Freebird Games.
Hell yeah new video
Yo Foxcade keep it up the The god tier content 😎👍
I laughed more at that Greek Cannon photo more than I'm comfortable with.
15:39 What's this game called?
TheBadger40 looks like shadow warrior game
I'm cool with the idea of paid early access. It helps ensure that the right people get their hands on the game in the more "crucial" development process. With Beta access there's the general problem of people not participating if doing a closed beta/ limited keys system. Then there's the problem of bad feedback that comes from players who will play anything since free access... For example imagine a FPS player beta testing a Fighting game despite never playing fighters. This player might report several things as cheap and broken, but they'd most likely be wrong assuming the tools to deal with "cheapness" are actually in the game. With paid early access odds are the people who get their hands on the game are truly invested in whatever gameplay style is being implemented. Things like extra modes/bonus content are typically not high on the priority list for these people even on full game release so long as the core gameplay is good(e.g. pleased vocal DMC fans). Assuming the project makes it to completion and updates+communication happen frequently enough, its kind of a win win for both sides. Consumers get a discount for something they might have bought day 1, the enjoyment of playing sooner than later, possibly having changes they envisioned implemented one way or another Devs get steady feedback that's most likely worth reading, an additional layer of QA, and money now is better than money later
I am so sold on this game, I loved all their stuff, but I just can't make myself to buy it right now. I want to experience it on it's best, when it's done, and I am also hoping for a steam release since I don't plan on using Epic games' launcher.
I miss Crystal Scar.
Hey you should do a video in System Shock 2 if you have any interest in that game. There's a real lack of quality video essays on the game and your style is my absolute favorite.
Why I have a feeling that this upgrade system was inspired by the blessings system in Ascendant?, I mean Ascendant is a bit forgotten now rough-like/slasher hybrid, which is fun to play but outside of combining different blessings and souls to get quite powerful effects, combat isn't very complex, honestly wish someone made a remake or continuation of this game, idea of different heroes from different mythologies constantly fighting over who will rule the world they're trapped in as Ascendant, is quite interesting, as much as I like the games that focus on covering single mythology, I wish there were more which tried to combine multiple mythologies into one huge lore and wish someone would make continuation or remake of this game, maybe making more weapon types and adding more depth to combat to make it stand out more

Love cool
Where are fox 2018 awards??
its not on Steam, GOG, GameJolt, or Itch.io though...
Unfortunately its locked to the new Epic Games store. I've had no issues with it though and after installing the game I havent even need to interact with it at all.
@@Foxcade okay well I think I'll just wait until its on one of the distrubtion stores I use(atm, Steam, Nutaku, and GOG are my main ones, though Game Jolt is pinned to my task bar but I haven't bought any games on it yet because nothing stuck out to me).
I hope the hype is still in you 1 year and a half later. I think they choose epic because the share there is better for them, they receive more money and put more things in the game.
@@Mclucasrv I wouldn't say I was hyped to begin with, I haven't even played Transistor or Pyre and I actually do have those(I have played Bastion though). There are very few things I get hyped for. right now I'm hyped for Huniepop 2, and I generally get hyped for anything from Freebird Games. However, if a game is exclusive on Epic, even if it were Huniepop 2 or something, me buying it goes completely out the window. I enjoy playing games in the moment, I'm happy while I'm experiencing them. The amount of games I have that I haven't touched that I want to play is in the triple digits, what is there to be hyped about when a game isn't finished yet?
The early access version is exclusive to Epic. But they've said it'll be released on other stores when it's finished.
Write two thing that should never be together.
Character Action bdtsss
Hades was a massive letdown for me. Rogue lite is fine and all but telling a story it makes for wildly repetitious gameplay.
