I recently binge-watched all of X-Men: Evolution with my friend and wanted to collect all of my favourite Logan moments (also including: his kids loving him a lot, and also Gambit, being Gambit). All hail the ultimate X-Men canon!
All footage was sourced from KZhead. Marvel doesn't care about people streaming it because they're ignorant fools who only see it as kiddie-show garbage.
The best Logan. He's not some edgelord, just a bit of a grumpy dad with a heart of gold and gets shit done.
I'm so glad the comics started giving him this kind of depth and storyline, Logan is a good men and is much more than a tough guy with a dark past

Daken is an edgelord. 616 wolverine is *the wolverine* that die hard X-Men fans ask for. beyond that, there's plenty of less extreme presentations of Logan other than Evolution. arguably my ass, you just prefer this God of War version. TAS and 09 have Evolution beat, and that's just cartoon wise
@Kevin Byrnes "usually" and "literally" are both exaggerations. wolverine has been right about multiple people turning out to be trouble after time went on. and he is no "perverted weirdo" in Wolverine and The X-Men considering it's a gotdamn kids show. wolverine is never worthless, and has always been integral to the team in all his appearances. if he was totally unreasonable, he wouldn't be part of the team and Charles wouldn't trust him the way he does. as far as "douchebag", that's just your personal issue with him. there's multiple heroes that will vouch for him, including Spiderman, pretty much the nicest hero in Marvel. wolverine is *should be* what the writer's made him and what the fans responded to the most: a biker boy drifter. not a dad. while it's still a great version, Evolution ain't it. to try and disregard the other examples of wolverine and call this version the model, is ludicrous. there wouldn't be an idea of what wolverine should be at all, if there was no prime example in the past

I'm also saying your idea that wolverine is supposed to be like he is in evolution, is wrong and a personal preference. you don't get to say what he's supposed to be, when the authors have been consistent in who he is at his core. with how much you want to say he's terrible, you really have even less of a say on what he *should* be. you're using a minority report of situations where wolverine has been less than stellar, to just flat out call him a bad character. the fact of the matter is, wolverine has always been a well respected and loved hero amongst the x men and the rest of marvel. in most incarnations. despite being a loose cannon, despite having anger problems, despite not being a father figure
I honestly really like this version of Logan. The cool father figure type who lets you fight your own battles but will step in when you get in over your head. The loner who knows he has friends, the guy who’s the mentor to the younger kids

Making Logan the team's "Dad" in Evolution was a smart move. This way the writers could drop Logan's love triangle with Jean and Cyke in exchange for more time to work on both his backstory, and his relationship with other characters. It's also worth mentioning that it's thanks to this Wolverine that X-23 slowly earned the spotlight. While some details of Logan's past were watered-down (the implications of his Weapon-X treatment in the 90's show are way darker), other things were added that mixed well with his character arc.
SaitohYatate SaitohYatate I too loathe the Wolverine/Jean/Scott "Love" triangle. I also like that is one of the few adapations that doesn't rush Jean too become the Phoenix. So many other adaptions focuses on that part from the comics that it prevents Jean from becoming her own character.
I'd check out X-Men Supreme on Fanfiction it's honestly one of the best adaptations I've ever read

Aside from the sarcastic jokes, liking to chill and looking out for others, that's all Wolverine is ever portrayed as. He has always liked Scott, but between bros and hoes, he has a brother, and since his constantly tries to kill him, one is enough, so more hoes is more better.

THANK YOU!!! I too am so annoyed by that stupid Love triangle. I doesn't make sense too me. Why would Wolverine be intrested in Jean? He has had many girlfriends/lovers over the years even during his time as an x-men. Why would Jean be any different? He could probably get any women in the x-men and Jean is actually one of the least intresting one of them(before the whole Phoenix thing at least)

I love this version of Wolverine because he actually acts like he has 200 years of experience
This is my ideal Logan. No love triangle. He's comes off as some 40 year old man who is older then he seems. He's really a teacher. So from that pov, he and Storm technically supercede Cyclops as leading the X-men team but do it more like General vs Captains. The comics really like to approach Wolverine like he and Cyclops are the same age but two sides of the same coin. No Wolverine is old enough to be Scotts great grandfather(heck maybe he is) and should be way past that shoulder check nonsense. He's older then Mags/Xavier twice over. He butts heads with Cyclops only because Wolverine has really aged experience and a clash with Logans loner attitude. Basically Wolverine is like the cool old man and not some casanova for teenage girls younger then his daughter.

The funny thing is, Scott is like the ONE person he doesn't have a nickname for...but I think here it's because he actually sees him as more of a grown up than the other kids, not because he doesn't like him.
I love how we see this version of Logan really cares about these kids/X-Men, especially being a caring and protective male figure for the girls like Kitty, Rogue, and X-23 without being weird. He's still a crotchety old man, and he also has a strong protective role-model relationship with the boys as well. He's just such a great character in this show. This show was GOLDEN!
Amen brother! This is what we need done for Wolverine more often. Granted, I'm a sucker for Logan x Mariko, but that can be added without bringing in the absurd love triangle between him, Scott, and Jean. The triangle serves no real purpose other than to cause tension within the team, and the way it's brought into everything now makes it more than redundant. While I do like Logan's more colorful suit from the beginning of the show, I like how his later costume is more cohesive with everyone else's. It's like a little visual cue that Logan has decided to integrate himself more into the team and admit that he's one of them.
Truly, that orange suit could be the best Wolverine look for my money, but this is a great point.
it was a suit that Marvel tried to push on all their versions of wolverine, from animated to normal 616 canon to ultimate universe to adapt to the movie look. i like it but i wish he retained the mask

One of the best things about this version of Logan was that he knew people's limits and breaking points. He'd push everyone, but only as far as he felt each individual could handle. He knew when to back off, let things lie or give others some space, particularly Rogue.

Don't get me wrong, Logan was still a complete badass in this version, but I just really appreciate how he balanced that out with being the protective father figure, especially with the girls. They were all his kids but as soon as someone messed with Jean, Kitty or Rogue, it was a wrap. 👊👊👊

I completely forgot how much of a crotchety old dad this version of Wolverine this show had. He just goes around giving the kids, meaning everyone except Charles, constant shit. And as much as I like traumatized and jaded Wolverine stumbling to find himself in a world thst just wants to use him. This kind of "you will listen to my advice because I have done it all before is refreshing

There's some revisiting to his past it's done appropriately and isn't the focus of the whole show. I wished they had done the same with Storm as in this show she's mainly a background character
It is a shame that this was not in 616. Enrico Pucci would make everything perfect for the others. Transport everyone into a new perfect universe and the old one will be abandoned.
Whay would be really funny is if Logan suddenly started treating Charles like a kid and when he finally asks what's up, Logan says "Well, technically Chuck, I'm the oldest guy here. You're a kid to me." 😏 Charles: 😕
This is, by far, the best interpretation of Logan. He's old, far older than Xavier, and shouldn't be butting heads with the likes of Cyclops. Here he acts his age and takes on the role of a father or mentor. It suits him far better than the roles he plays in the comics or movies.
And he is shown to be a good fighter at times but mostly the Marvel crew forgets about this.
It also neatly explains why he's not using his claws to stab people: he doesn't want to scare the kids. Keeps the show kid friendly without changing the character.
The sincerity and compassion in kitty's voice when she asks if he really wants to hurt her always struck hard with me. All the training, the battles and hardship these students are still just kids. And Logan would rather suffer than hurt them willingly. One of many reasons I've always loved this show

That moment when Logan managed to get through to Laura is one of my favorite X-Men moments. Children are meant to have a childhood. Laura wasn't even allowed one. She was a mere tool to be taken out of a toolbox. She had every right to a future of her own design.
And not get the Weapon X since those claws and toe claw is something not even a child of his DNA has to get the adatium feed as well

Hard to believe that just a few years earlier he voiced Rattrap, Waspinator and Dinobot on Beast Wars. I can’t hear the similarities but knowing that they’re the same guy just impresses me more. Love Scott McNeil.

Idc, this is the best on-screen version of the X-Men by far and away. It captures their dynamics in such a compelling way, beyond the X-Men as just a superhero team but also as a school and as a family, and this version of Wolverine is definitely a big part of that.

This portail truly captures what I love about Wolverine. A guy who is rough around the edges and has at some point been mistreated to the point he thought he is nothing but a weapon. He wants to do better than that, be better than that. Thats why he keeps adopting teenage girls and lets himself be dragged to a mall to carry the shopping bags, however much he grumbles about it. You don't bring weapons to a mall, you bring a father.

I adore this Logan, he's a great character in general and I especially love how he kinda has this energy of "Being the person he needed someone to be" with people younger than him, especially X-23 but also just in general.
I always loved how this Logan wasn't some stalker creep trying shack up with someone's else woman. He's not a gentleman, but he's more mature in a cartoon than a live action movie.

29:30 It's those little moments I love. Logan's clearly upset with how bad things have gotten now that mutants are known to the public and knows they don't deserve all this hate. Especially the kids and how a lot of them have been literally forced to hide in the sewers away from people.

That means A) that's how Logan caught her scent, the wind carried it, and B) Laura, having the same enhanced senses, would have known this, so she must've deliberately positioned herself there to let him know she was ok. Now THAT's attention to detail.
I always loved this version of Wolverine due to him being on better terms with the rest of the X-Men, even Cyclopes. I always prefered the majorly orange Wolverine costume over his main yellow one that he is known for.
I hate hate the yellow and blue suit he has like i do batman's blue and gray suit. Wolverine should always wear orange and yellow. Barman should always wear black and gray

@@relaxgaming_ntc you mean around 2008-2010? I still don't remember that since I remember around that time it was ben 10 alien force, secret saturdays and those live action shows that debuted as well. That's when cartoon network kind of died for me.

I loved Logan in X-Men Evolution cause he wasn't the focus like he is in every X-Men series/show. He wasn't overexposed or ridiculously powerful. In the comics cause of his popularity they made him so overpowered he could equally fight The Juggernaut. But in X-Men Evo he got easily squashed by The Juggernaut which makes way more sense. They made him an older tough badass parental figure and he was more a father figure to Scott and not some jealous love rival

Exactly, just because he's essentially immortal doesn't mean he's extremely powerful. The old, wise, gruff Logan is best.
it's not just that, Logan can indeed get hits and equally fight the juggernaut, his claws are strong plus his factor gives him the ability to keep going. He can take more than love taps like spider-man but ian know bout winning depends on which Logan, can't tell the comic creator that they doing something wrong
This is one of very few iterations of Logan that shows he actually is a good father to Laura. Willing to let her hack him to pieces so long as she calmed down and started acting like a child
Yep, atleast in the cartoons, he actually acted like a proper father. But he was completely horrible with his biological children in the comics. Laura and Akhiro. Logan is a good dad to every X-Men teenager except his own kids. I know Daken is not a saint, but he is not the most evil dude in the comics. And now in the comics. Daken and Laura are very close, like actual siblings.

I’ve had a nice glass of rum already, so I could be wrong. And at no point am I defending Logan for his parenting, just saying it’s not always 100% on him

Except Storm. They don’t give her a lot of screen time. And Charles. Neither one of them have a lot of focus

It sucks that we never got to see things like Kurt being able to comfortably walk around as himself without the holo-watch. As a kid Kitty was my favourite when my siblings and I would rent the DVDs, but as an adult I think Kurt is awesome! Scuse the babbling I just love this show haha.

Yeah, that was a spectacular episode, and definitely one of my favs! Not trying to start a comment war, but I personally think the 90's WWII episode underperformed compared to Evolution's.

This was probably one of the best Logan adaptations out of all of them! It makes the most sense that he’s skilled but also willing to pass on his skills to others especially after hundreds of years. He’s mature, wise, and doesn’t have a strange love triangle dynamic with Jean which always threw me off. I enjoyed that he was more of a teacher figure but still a freaking badass! Also having the a better relationship with cyclops was so much better.
because contrary to Wolverine and the X-Men there wasn't an obsessive use of Logan above everybody else. here he went back to being the cool,badass no BS hero. so please bring Evolution back.
Still waiting for season 5. We still hasn't seen dark pheonix vs xmen. And the teen titans season 6 returning means it is also possible for xmen to return aswell with another title.

You know, it kind of makes sense that Wolverine would have a more mellowed yet gruff personality after all the years he's lived. The addition of him being the tough dad of the team really accentuate this further.

I would have to say that out of the several voice-actors who have voiced Wolverine over the years, I say that Cathal J. Dodd (from X-Men: The Animated Series), Scott McNeil (from X-Men: Evolution), & Steven Blum (various related X-Men series) as the best. And I would also like to say that Scott McNeil brought warmth to the character in this series.
Because he loved him he was his fav X-Men and you are right those voice actors brought so much life to Logan😍❤😍❤😍❤😍❤😍❤

The X-Men: Evolution back story for X-23 would honestly work so well for the MCU. They could easily tie the Facility and Mr. Sinister to Strucker and HYDRA.

I love the dynamic Kitty and Wolverine had in this series, it really seems like she is his favorite student.
Personally I think Rogue was his favorite, she was more his speed and a little more sensible than Kitty most of the time plus she had a lot more deep trauma that he understands. But I agree that he and Kitty do have a great dynamic! Logan as a father figure is the best!
