This is an amazing work. Would it be possible to make it as perfectly spherical as possible to avoid light refraction on the edges? That would be one hell of a way to display specimens.

I have two of these that were on my grandfather's dest when I was eight years old, back in 1961, and they are in hemispheres. They are so beautiful. I'm 70 now, and will leave them to my kids.

This was so pleasing to watch. :D I wish I'd had known or knew someone who knows about handling epoxy resin. Seeing the process...I see now why the butterfly I attempted to preserve turned into dust in that little box. I had even sealed or at least tried to seal any airflow that may have entered, but I was about 10 years old and didn't know acetone or any other chemical that was needed for the butterfly to keep it's shape. Very informative!!! Thank you for uploading!! :D

Beautiful video and masterfully done. The only suggestion I can think of would be to make the stands for the insects feet from the same resin that you are going to put the specimin into, since this way it would be completely non visable. 10/10

@@4Makeit so it is a queen. european hornet queens look impressive when they fly by. and they are a bit smaller. the wings create a hum at the frequency of a razor, so its about 50 beats per second i wonder what the giant hornet queen would sound like. probably lower frequency but louder.

There are tons of what we refer to as Japanese giant sparrow bees (it’s not really a hornet it’s a bee category in Japan) as it’s native to Japan originally and in mountain remote side you would see it easily. I used to run for my life when it got close like 5 meters away. People die from it when it stings. Surprisingly even these giant sparrow bees have a place in the Japanese ecosystem in nature. They’re said to have great pest controls and eats pests in mountainous areas. These are killers for Japanese honey bees. But they’re all part of ecosystem.

I live in Japan where these giant hornets mostly live. Once I was in the park in the spring when the extra bee queens for the honeybees fly off and attached themselves to a branch of a tree while they look for their next next nesting site. Several of these huge giant hornets buzzed by and started picking off some of the outermost honeybees. They sounded like jet fighters compared to the honeybees which sounded like little propeller planes. They were scary!

@@CyMD Yes, we need to protect bees. You are absolutely correct!! Mostly they are dying from Illnesses and parasites more than the giant hornets. Bees in Japan can kill a bad giant hornet that comes to eat them. I have seen films here in Japan where 10 or 20 of honeybees will latch onto the giant hornet that invades their hive and then they will flap their wings and make the hornet too hot and in about 5 or 10 minutes the hornet will die of heat exposure. So those weak bees do have a defense. (*'▽'*)

But still not all defences are successful and if one scout make it out alive entire bees nest will suffer consequences. I believe you are aware of what Albert Einstein said about bees - thats why i suggested Japan need to take it seriously... Either way iam glad that at least you care :)

過去に、気泡だらけの残念なレジンジオラマを自慢気に上げている方がいて、こんなものかと思っていましたが、真空脱泡機を使うとこんなに美しくなるんですね。大変参考になりました

すごく美しい樹脂の中の蜂です! 30年ほど前に勤務していた所で、こっそり紅葉の樹脂を作ってました。 樹脂も真空脱泡機も研磨機もそろっていたのでこっそり。 あなたの動画を見て、制作途中の楽しみを思い出しました。 針をさすところは細やかで「根気と集中力がいるなあ」と思いました。
紅葉いいですよね。私はセロハンテープをラミネートみたいに使って栞を作ってました。やはり30年ほど前です。ただ2年くらいすると変色してしまっていた、もしレジンで閉じ込めるとしたらその辺の対策も考えたいですね。
@@4Makeit さま 私の紅葉は、エポキシ樹脂と硬化剤を混ぜて作っていました。 10年間ぐらいは手元に置いていたのですが、引っ越しのときか…もう思い出せませんが、なくしてしまいました。 研磨するとき、葉のところまで削ってしまっていて、空気に触れさせてしまったからか、そこから変色していました。 職場では、精密部品を破壊検査のため、固めて研磨して、顕微鏡で見ていました。 とても美しいですね!次の桜の作品も見に行きますね!楽しみ!!

ありがとうございます。 人によって意見が結構変わるんですよね。手袋も選択間違えると巻き込まれたりするので(経験者)、僕は「失敗しても擦り傷で済むなら」と素手でやってます。とはいえ素人なのでプロフェッショナルがこの動画を見たら怒るかもしれません。
回転物を扱うときは手袋は危険ですよ

you need (any capable organisation) do something about it. If bees keeps dying world is fucked. Seriosly protect them from this parasitic hornets.
@@CyMD Yes, we need to protect bees. You are absolutely correct!! Mostly they are dying from Illnesses and parasites more than the giant hornets. Bees in Japan can kill a bad giant hornet that comes to eat them. I have seen films here in Japan where 10 or 20 of honeybees will latch onto the giant hornet that invades their hive and then they will flap their wings and make the hornet too hot and in about 5 or 10 minutes the hornet will die of heat exposure. So those weak bees do have a defense. (*'▽'*)
@@Pammellam I have seen the documentary about bees defence against hornets - it is truly amazing. But still not all defences are successful and if one scout make it out alive entire bees nest will suffer consequences. I believe you are aware of what Albert Einstein said about bees - thats why i suggested Japan need to take it seriously... Either way iam glad that at least you care :)
@@CyMD Yes, I agree completely. Bees need to be protected above all else. We humans need bees very very much! Without bees, food will be almost impossible to grow!
@@CyMD the native honeybees in Japan have ways to fight against hornets, they have coexisted for thousands years. It’s usually best to leave nature as it is. I agree that we need to get rid of it in the other part of the world
