Hello Rachel, this spoken phrase "don't have to " Chanler said who sat on the chair and suddenly stood in order to respond to the girl in Freinds Show that you had uploaded analysis you had uploaded if you remember Mrs. Rachel.😂 I understood many of the clip but I played it three times in a row. Thank you Mrs. Rachel you've helped me understand many of movies and TV shows but understanding African-Americans are still really hard for me they speak in a way that I can't realize
Thanks for sharing Aghil!
Awesome video. That's exactly how I taught English about 25 years ago-except you're going into much more detail, Rachel. Another very interesting feature is the protagonists' body language: Nonverbal behavior like body movements and posture, facial expressions, eye contact, hand/arm/shoulder gestures, and tone of voice all contribute significantly to how they both communicate. Learners of (North) American English should also assimilate this in a US or Canadian environment.
I appreciate it @pascalvirmoux-jackson5425!
Thanks
You're welcome @MichelJrNoel!
You are awesome.❤

fast and carefully to speak English, it's important to not hurt anyone with talking
Hello ! I studied English for 6 years in school then I went to the USA to study. I watch English and American movies for years. I know other languages : French, Dutch, bases of Germain and dialects from my country, Belgium. I watch the Monty Pitons as well as American movies without understanding problem. Phil. Peace.
Thanks for sharing Phil!
thinks, I learned a lot
That's great @Guoleduo!
A little of it. It was hard to me. There are other series more easy to catch the sounds like Friends. But it's necesary all kind of tv shows. Rachel you're a great English teacher, your help is invaluable. One question. How can native English speakers understand each other when accent is so strong? For example Australian or Jamaican accent. Ohhh Thank you for you now i realise that context is important to understand English contrast between stress and unstressed words.
Thank you, I'm glad you're finding the videos helpful! As for understanding English dialects, it can take some practice, even for native speakers. If we hear a dialect we are unfamiliar with, it can take our ears some time to catch onto the different vowel sounds, intonation patterns, and vocabulary/idioms of the new dialect.
greeting my best teacher from Yemen

You are fantastic i am from Egypt i always follow your tutorials they benefit me alot do advise me to use preply app to speak with native American teacher speaker or not Please suggest me some sites to communicate with native speakers it is preferable to be free sites i wish you read my comment i really love your tutorials ❤🥰
I'm glad you're enjoying my videos! I think lessons, tutors and conversation partners are all good to help with building your skills and confidence! My Academy offers the option to purchase private lessons with REA teachers, and includes free access to the REA Community group where you can post and get teacher feedback, or meet conversation partners who are fellow students. To find native conversation partners, I recommend iTalki or Preply. Good luck!
I'd love to have you as a teacher.❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you Rafiullah!
signature is up at the end only because it is a question.
I get it. All of it.
Great!
Hi, Rachel! I have a pronunciation question that's annoying me. According to dictionaries, the "th" in the word "with" is pronounced as ð. However, I found these two examples (and more than two) where speakers pronounced it as θ instead of ð. There are they: 1- The big bang theory season 2 episode 21 timestamp: 15:41: "I really don't wanna have this conversation wiTH (θ) you". 2- The big bang theory season 2 episode 10 timestamp: 11:59: "You wanna come wiTH (θ)?" Is there any explanation for this? Is it ð or θ?! Thank you so much❤❤❤
Hi Baloza! WITH is a unique word, because the TH can be pronounced both ways! Sometimes speakers will match the TH (voiced or unvoiced) with the sound after it (voiced before voiced, unvoiced before unvoiced), but not always.
Omg.. I got more out of this than I did in 10 years of education (i'm a foreign). They never taught me this way. Much more efficient. In schools they mostly focus on grammar..
Oh I understand most of it
Great!
Most of it
I understand 60%
it's tough
Most of it with noise around me😀
I love you
Really I need to take a course with you about pronunciation and accent how can pay ?

I'm from Pakistan very good video
Thanks for watching @RafiiiqSaahil!
A little of it
Well, wht's this series name ?
It's "Little America" from Apple Plus.
@Rachel's English What's the name of the show or movie?
It's the TV show "Little America".
I caught little of it
Great!
This doesn't have much to do with this particular episode, but I'm shocked that not pronouncing the h in when, where, whale, white. My maiden name is White and I have always pronounced it with the h being sounded! When did this become a thing to drop the h sound.
Hi @itsthevk! It's very common in American English to drop the H in WH words. Interestingly, we sometimes alternatively drop the W and keep the H, such as in "who" and "whose".
🥰🥰🥰
Hello Rachel's English. Im looking for a video(learn english with movies)that has a two white ladies with a dog. One of the ladies says that she's looking for a job. Once I know the transcript, I can hear all. Why is that?
Probably because you can read what's being said. If something is said you don't understand you can read it to fill in the blanks.
@@floydiandreamscapes5145 how could somebody get over it?
Hi @a-note76! Yes, once the brain isn't focusing on understanding the meaning, it's easier to relax and focus on how the words are pronounced. It's great to use transcripts in your practice, since it helps you to develop your ear training skills.
The same here, but at least it's good to listen to i'm not the only one 😅
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
how to talk your direct madam please
“That’s your mom signature?” grammatically is not a question. “Is that …?”
It depends on the entonation. Ejm wanna beer? Is the same as Do you want a beer?
It's acceptable in spoken English.
Hi D _Tatishch! Yes, these are "statement questions". More info on them here: dictionary.cambridge.org/us/grammar/british-grammar/questions-statement-questions-you-re-over-18
Really? This 'Really is not a question, but it is a question. :)
It's a declarative question, which is used to either make sure or show surprise.
👍❤🌷🍑☕
I understand nothing...
