  • My first cousin played French horn in high school marching band--a real challenge. My friend and I just happened to end up directly behind the French horns when singing Haydn's "Four Seasons" with the Jacksonville Symphony chorus. During the concert at the University of Florida in Gainesville the horns got "spitted up" during the finale, which consisted of brass fanfares alternating with vocal amens. The da, da, da, da das came out more like sputter, sputter, sputter. We couldn't help but break up, which elicited an icy stare from the conductor.

  • What's so awesome besides the magnificence of your talent is the wonderfully yet subtle cutting edge of your humor. I'm listening and laughing at the same time, or should I say smiling.
