‘Key Technologies Behind Launch Of Home Made Navigation Satellite’
NEW DELHI: India’s indigenous GPS got a shot in the arm with the launch by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), of the second generation of navigation satellite NVS-1. More are expected to be launched over the course of the next six months, said Chaitanya Giri, Editor Interstellarnews.in, during a chat on The Gist.
Crucial to the success of the satellite are the ISRO-made atomic clocks that will provide precision time by measuring the frequency of atoms, Giri said. These were being imported from Europe and installed on an earlier generation of navigation satellites, but when they broke down, ISRO scientists stepped in to design and make at home.
The launch also marks the steady maturation of the cryogenic engines (GSLV series) that use less polluting fuel and are highly efficient. The workhorse PSLV (Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle) need to be upgraded and that work is now getting underway.
Tune in for more in this chat with Chaitanya Giri, Editor of Interstellarnews.in.

Love the way Surya Gangadharan Sir, he is very relaxed and explains everything while he interviews the presenter ...👏
It was very informative . A lot of things got cleared by listening to Mr Giri . Looking forward to listen to him more particularly during the Chandrayaan 3 Mission in July and Aug .
Nice discussion thank you both of you 👌
Very good discussion. Thank you.
Very Informative scientific Discussion. 🙏🇮🇳🙏
Super very informative. Enjoyed.
Wth is shot in the arm? Is it good or bad. It is usually used as negative connotation
liquid fuels will help to start and off and engine when needed with solid its not possible
Advance is Slow because of budget constraints
Now we use GPS for laying drinking water, sewer pipelines too. Roads in hilly regions, highways, railway lines, creating new irrigation canals use GPS.
Just hope (which I lost) that it doesn't exploded like before. 😂😂😂😂😂
Ok, Bob! I'd suggest you to not speak about things that you don't really know.
