  • When chimps (mainly males) reach sexual maturity (7-9), that's when you need to watch out for significant behavioral changes. Just remember what happened to Charla Nash and a few others with their cute little chimps.

    • Yes there is more nuance too with female primates and even other animals. I believe the only passive tiger shark in the world is a mature female shark. Males of all species can be more unpredictable due to hormones and females can act this was as well but there are more peaceful outliers than in male samples.

    • I remember hearing about this attack, in Connecticut; but all the details were NOT reported; and I doubt that they ever will be reported. My question: could not love triangles and jealous rages be avoided if the co-habitant chimp had his or her own chimpanzee mate?

  • I love the way Angada loves you. Animals that love their owners can be seen in their eyes and facial expression. Thank you for loving animals. I love animals more than people ~ Do you think I’m strange? Thank you for your streams.

  • Those chimps will love you now but when they get older, it will not be the same. I am still unsure how anyone can have chimps as pets. It's fun and games when they are young but don't they get violent as they get older? Then you would have to cage them due to safety concerns and that is really sad.

  • I'm sorry to ask this because I see the love between the chimps and handlers. Are you guys worried that the chimps may attack you? It's said after a certain age chimps tend to attack their owners. There's many instances were chimps attack.I think it might be territory, matting,or it could be for meat.Whatever it is,how do you guys insure your safety?

    • I think the 9 year old chimp can destroy both of these people. The 2 year old one probably hasn't reached the level of aggression yet or strength.
